Not sure how true it is, but AI says there's different fire protocol for demos and races. During a demo where there's no danger of being struck by another driver, priority is given to driver escape, then 3rd party fire suppression.
its not for yuki to pull it, but for marshalls and enginners that were on site seconds after. I thought thats exactly the situation for this system to be used.

From what I could tell it was a chassis material fire caused by exhaust heat. From what I can find about that specific fire suppression system, it pumps a halon alternative through the engine, including the fuel lines. They would have to completely rebuild the engine every time it fire off. Probably not worth it when a guy with a CO2 bottle can deal with it relatively cheaply.

There were 3 triggers for it; button on the wheel for the driver, button on the exterior of the car for marshals, and an automatic temperature switch.

It was not an engine fire? If not then yea, im talking rubish

I only saw 1 article claiming to know the source and they said it was an overheated exhaust that ignited the structure around it. Again, don't know how true that is. I didn't notice any dripping flames from the videos.

More noise being made about the possibility of reducing the electrical power output limit from 350 kW to 250 kW (470 to 335 bhp in automotive relevant units) to reduce the need to recharge as much on the lap.

Hilarious if they do it because that means no 50% power from electric and an admittance that it is not possible.
There we are. There is an official proposal to reduce from 350 kW to 300 kW from race 3 based on how the first 2 races go.

They recon it will be about 1.5 seconds a lap slower.

race in chink SUV EVs
Surprisingly enough, that was a thing, jeet SUV EVs rather than chink, but close enough.

Fucking Australia GP should be held at 8 AM Australian time, so euros can have some chance watching it, I can't bring my ass to wake up at 5 AM even if the race will be mental.
At least we're back to a proper track having the first race rather than soulless desert hell hole with rich backers #376.

Now if only we could get the final race of the season back to Interlargos.

TSMT, all desert shitholes and Walmart GPs should be ACKed. We don't need 24 races, 17-18 is enough. It's telling enough, we start in Melbourne because FIA can't hold a race in Bahrain/SA until April because they have fucking Ramadan geeeeg
What was so wrong with this calendar?

Abu Dhabi as the final race year in-year out is criminal. Räikkönen had it right when he said the circuit was shit years ago.

You underestimate the vital importance of having three races in the USA and then burying the coverage on a streaming network less than 10% of the country is using.

is it true that SPA and some other track are sharing their race, i overheard it today

They like money too much. IMO the sport should stick to 20 races max with no sprints, races held at proper venues.

Max Verstappen racing is now a formal "performance partner" of Mercedes-AMG rather than just a customer team.

If Mercedes boss the new technical rules then Toto all but has his signature surely.
