Max should be super aggressive at the start. NoRizz knows that he has to keep it clean to ensure he is champion, Max has nothing to lose.

Unfortunately I don't expect Piastri to cause troubles to his teammate at the start or 2026 will suck for him at McLaren.

The start will be interesting to see. We need a crazy repeat of 2021.

I disagree with the idea that prime Max wouldn't be considered one of the all-time greats regardless of era he was dropped at. He is as complete as a driver can get and in the 2000's would be right in the thick of it with Fernando, Kimi, Michael, and Juan Pablo.

I absolutely agree and appreciate the Montoya appreciation as he's perhaps one of the more underappreciated drivers to never win the Championship. I love drivers who like to compete in other series and especially have successful careers in other categories as complete drivers.

He already holds the record for the longest a driver at Ferrari took to get a podium
He is the first full time Ferrari driver to be eliminated in 3 consecutive Q1s. This is the 19th season to use the knock out qualifying so yeah, quite the record to add to your resume.

It's over Pastry Chefs.
It was over the moment they didn’t pit him under the SC at Qatar.

While I won't say he's a completely hopeless driver without a dominant car, let's not pretend almost his whole career has had at the very worst race winning potential cars. He honestly is on par with Sebastian Vettel for me, a good driver that was very lucky to have championship cars. Those who say he's on par with Michael Schumacher are delusional given I truly think even prime Max would struggle against prime Schumacher.
He was a rookie put into the absolute fucking rocket of an F1 car, losing only due to extreme case of bad luck and internal tard wars. The middest teammate he had in 2008 somewhat helped in securing WDC, though. When McLaren fell on its ass in season 2009, he vanished from the champion contenders. (ok, except maybe 2010)
Then 2014, Mercedes was arguably the best prepared for new engine regs, Don't tell me Mercedes between 2014 and 2020/21 was anything but #1 car on the grid. Once Rosberg left, he got the best wingman one could ask for.
2022 comes. I'm not sure whether Mercedes developed their 2021 car for a bit too long and too much or Max assassinating his psyche. But it was the absolute disaster. 2023 was the story of RB19 and Max. 2024 showed some glimpses, though.
Now we are here, with 7th time world champion crashing out harder than Perez one year ago. Remarkable.

norris fucking SUCKS at the start, max has to avoid getting crashed by him and it should improve his chances a lot
I mean I'll take a Max and Norris take eachother out because then we get Piastri winning.

I want any Norris doesn't win result but unfortunately I don't see it happening without some freak event. As I already said he has to take precisely zero risks and just get a podium (or less if Max doesn't win). If they're smart he'll just do his own race and ignore Max and Piastri. Even if Russell gets infront of him and Max is winning they'll get Piastri to drop out of the podium and get him the championship.

I’m 100% awake for at least the first lap. I need someone with balls to make some racing moves on Piastri and/or Norris into turn 1 to push Norris down the order or at least pressure him from 3rd. If we get Piastri keeping 3rd and running defense the whole race then that’s the worst result and I’ll turn it off.

I mean if the championship is decided by team orders in the end, it will be objectively one of the shittiest title wins in F1 history.

The championship hardly needs team orders. All Norris needs to do at this point is not shit the bed (he wins if he's on the podium, and that's hardly out of the realm of possibility). But it's still a shitty title win because it should never have been this close in the first place.

Well yeah I honestly expect Norris to win, but I'm not counting out any mistakes he or McLaren will make because they seem to love snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Though if he loses, I can't wait to see the look on Fat Brown's face.

It's gonna suck for him regardless. He's been penned as the defacto #2 no matter what he does. All the 50/50 internal team calls go against him. Playing the good puppy this race won't earn him any goodwill inside that team just like it didn't matter when he deferred to Norris in the past.
Not necessarily he might need to lose this one to come back stronger à la Rosberg 2016.

However with the new rules next year, McLaren might not be at the top anymore.

I think Dark Oscar comes next year. This is a wake up call that he needs to fight for himself first and the team second.
He needs to lose the friendly Ausie part of his character. They seem to have some of the coursest ways of communicating with eachother while also being unable to be cut throat when needs be. Both Ricciardo and Webber suffered from being the "nice guy" of the grid that everyone loved but failed to capitalise on their opportunities, if McLaren shit the bed rules wise next season and fall back then Piastri will very likely be added to that list.

My wishlist for next year:
  • Dark Oscar OR Dark Charles
  • Competitive Williams (VAMOS!)
  • A fun showing from Cadillac
  • Hadjar getting respect from RBR
  • Hamilton getting phased out
I don't see all of those things happening, but it's nice to dream.
