Incredibile dogshit that DRS is just broken involving Russell and that he may get a penalty for it. Lots of track limits, might be a decent bit of post race shifting around.
 
Norris is too inconsistent to win the WDC. My money is on Piastri. Except the bad luck in rainy Australia, he has been very strong.

Midclerc 32 points only 2 points ahead of a rookie

Hamilton only 7 points ahead of a Williams and 11 points ahead of a fucking haas

HAHAHAHA god this is going to be ferrari’s worst season and I love it

Imagine if racing bulls hadn’t fucked Yuki and Hadjar over on strategy and if haas had their shit together in Aussie. Ferrari would be in deep shit

Pastry has risen to the occasion. Whilst focus, consistency and the best car on the grid go a long way, I'm not ready to call him for the 2025 WDC win just yet. He could suffer a run of bad luck and/or Lando could find form as the season progresses.

I'm still at a loss as to how RBR shat the bed so badly. There's been obvious tension brewing behind the scenes for years, but I didn't expect the eventual downfall to be so swift and dramatic. So much so that I've gone from feeling bad for Checo to feeling happy for him.

As for Lawson... every F1 season needs a Goatifi or Maldonado as comedy relief. Through this lens, Lawson is having a pretty good year thus far.

No penalty for George for the DRS due to FIA fuck ups with electronic systems and him making sure he gained no time (gained 0.02, deliberately lost 0.28).

Bit of a shit race over all, other than a couple of over ambitious overtake attempts nothing really happened again.
 
I think Red Bull's slow pitstops and Mercedes' failed transponder were both issues caused by Bahrain cheaping out on track infrastructure.
Also, Bahrain owns McLaren.

What are you on about? There was good racing up and down the field on a track that is usually a snooze fest, helped of course by that previously mentioned NASCARish full course yellow.

I wonder if it's position between Saudi and Iran meant some sort of electronic warfare/electronic warefare countermeasure system was screwing with the kit. We already know GPS jamming in that region is very commonly encountered by commercial airlines.

i think Lewis got his Schumacher moment after the ground effect era cars, i don't think he could adapt his driving style to it, like how Schumacher never could re-adapt to non grooved tyres that didn't last the entire race like in the v10 era.

Anyway, I hope he ends up 3rd or 4th in the WDC, unlike the kiwis I don't hate his black ass, specially after the politics ban shut him up.
He had a spectacular debut, trounced Massa into oblivion in 08, drove shitty McLarens from there on until 2012 with no complaints until lauda rescued his career.
He's a really good driver and Ferrari has been a mess since 2007, he and Leclerc deserve a good car and team.

I loved their new chief interview on the nelson piquet jr F1 podcast, really humble, down to earth, no bullshit guy who is focused on getting the maximum out of a cheap budget and doesn't want to repeat Gunther's mistake of signing shitty sponsorships and pay drivers.

It is in 100% English, so it's worth a watch.

Lando is pissing me off, he's first in the championship, has a car that can go 14+s ahead of any car, in a 2+ s lineup from 2nd best to bottom, despite the FIA kneecapping it with the aero flex ban, but keeps crying about how woe is me.

Meanwhile Mark Raikonnen over here keeps delivering constant results and is humble and monosyllabic with 0 bullshit, and is clearly the number 1 driver despite having 1/3 of his f1 career.
Piastri deserves the same pay contract he got after Australia.

That's what pisses me off about Lando. He whines as much as Hambone without any of the accolades to back it up. He'll shove other drivers in the corners because muh apex and block like a madman, but if anyone does it to him, he'll cry and demand daddy FIA give them a penalty. Plus, his fanbase is entirely screaming 12 year old girls. Really easy to hate.

Max vs. Piastri vs. Kimi Jr. is the WDC battle of the future.
 
In 3 years we will have Piastri vs Kimi jr for world title with Piastri being the role of Lewis and max. With Ollie being the lando

Hadjar will be taking the Ocon/gasly/albon/sainz role

Sadly I don’t see gabi or Doohan lasting in terms of rookies.

Speaking of lolpine they could have had a lineup of Piastri and Lundgaard but fucked that up
