Bortoleto will probably do well, he's in a dog of a car so they won't have unrealistic expectations on him
Tell that to Brazilians, after Senna, we hype everyone who gets into F1, even in a shit team as the next Senna (even though he nearly fucking won in Monaco in his debut in a shitty car during a monsoon), then we immediately shit on them when their jordan, sauber, williams or whatever doesn't get a podium.
Massa and Barrichello are mocked and joked here even today, only f1 fans have braincells to realize what a career they, but "hur durr, he never won a championship, so he is shit" is the average brazilian take.
We only like champions, if Pele didn't win the world cup, we'd probably drive him to a early drug induced grave by 1991, or see how our entire soccer strategy was to draft Neymar and no one else thinking he'd carry the team since 2014.

It might be the season we finally see daddy stroll shuffle little Lance towards the hyprecar and get Tsunoda for 2026 to go with the Honda engines. Plus Tsunoda has got to be wanting an out after being passed up for that RBR seat.
I can't imagine Daddy Stroll is spending megabucks just to settle for Yuki Tsunoda if he actually does kick his failson to the curb. Remember the rumors that AM was going after Verstappen? I don't think that happens, but I could see them hiring Sainz or snapping up one of this class of rookies like Bortoleto if any impress.

Speaking of him, the F1 media treating the first back-to-back F3 and F2 champion since Piastri like an afterthought is pretty sad. I swear even Doohan has gotten more attention than him.

I blame the first crop of post V8 rookies completely failing.

The only one who left and didn't have a completely failed run was wehrlein because stroll basically took his seat, he does good in formula E (current champion) and had a fantastic DTM career.

Kyviat? Logan sergeant?, mazepin?, mick Schumacher? Brendon Hartley (remember when he was hyped as fuck and completely fucked it up in Toro Rosso?) Ocon? There's another 4-5 that chat gpt gave me, except from Ocon and pascal I couldn't remember them.

I blame the v6 hybrid crap.
This guy drives touring and endurance cars online and irl and he still barely manages to drive a full on f1 car with 50+ buttons and settings, he was sponsored to showcase the car and the wheel and he barely manages to set it up and only drives a few laps on default settings.

Can you imagine having to deal with 30+ engine management buttons per lap? Having to keep energy levels, fuel mixture and other shit?

Not even WW2 fighter pilots needed to keep that shit in mind, by 1944 they had simplified 30+ levers and buttons into a single throttle lever.

Can you imagine having to basically code Linux at a corner at 150mph? Only someone batshit like Alonso could do that and remain in the midfield in mostly shitty cars at the young age of 42.

Gentlemen, a short view back to the past...

MBS is just trying to farm goodwill after the FIA was booed at the F1 75 event.
I kinda don't think it's gonna happen either, but it's funny that he knows that's a way to farm goodwill. I don't know anybody that doesn't prefer the era when there were ridiculously high revving V10s on the grid.

That or they just post pictures of race classification with the lead car 2 laps ahead.

Those people also are the ones who actually did like the idiotic virtue signalling of 2020 so all you have to do is wait for FIA to say that a troon built and designed the V10s and badabing, they are now fully supportive of the idea. After a few years, they will completely forget about the whole hybrid V6 formula and only remember it as the era of Hamilton-Verstappen dominance.
