Also, 6 rookies on the grid now? Wow. Maybe 7 if Colapinto gets a seat.
It'll make up for the last few years, where very few rookies (and even fewer legitimate potential future WDC winners) have joined the F1 grid.

Of all the seasons to flush out the dead wood and bring in some new blood, 2025 is as good as any, especially with the major changes happening in 2026.

Wholesome picture of Alonso coaching Bortoleto.

F1 is currently freshening up. We only have 3 old drivers left: Alonso (F1 start in 2001), Hamilton (F1 start in 2007) and Hülkenberg (F1 start in 2010). The rest are all "young"
I notice that Lance Stroll is nowhere to be found in that post. Not because he's old per se, but because he's not a driver.

I really would want Lawson to be like Raikkonen in 2001 - no one believed in him, getting into F1 after next to no junior career and then showing respectable performance, later developing into the fastest driver of the mid 2000s and the world champion, But at the same time it looks like Gasly 2.0 situation, not to mention Red Bull will likely suck next season

According to Vasseur, their 2025 season car will get a huge overhaul, almost being a complete new car. So they seem to go all in, in the last year of current regulations.
I suspect most teams are focusing on the 2026 regulations.
IF they are going to succeed with this strategy, I really hope that Leclerc wipes the floor with Wigger Hamilton.
Nonetheless an interesting situation already, next season cannot come soon enough.

Can't wait for another soulless Tilke circuit to replace a historically great (in case of Spa, the best in the world) track.
I fucking hate modern F1 leadership, their middle Eastern cock sucking, trying to bruteforce their way into the American market without understanding what once made the sport so great.

The only good reason for there not being a race in Spa is if they have some massive track renovation that will take all year. If I was the dictator of the sport, I'd give it a protected status as a cornerstone event, along with Monaco, Silverstone, Monza, and Suzuka.

Or go oval racing to chase after the Nascar and Indicar crowd.
Can't wait for Crofty gushing about those thrilling DRS overtakes on the straits.

Alpine signs Colapinto to a multi-year "reserve" contract.

Not that I blame them- Doohan is Guanyu Zhou levels of talent and is lucky to be in the place he's in right now- but christ. Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Flavio has been pretty open about wanting Colapinto over Doohan so I'm not expecting Doohan to get the opportunity to settle in and instead have any poor performances used to swap him. Possibly with a well timed safety car for Gasley from a Doohan crash somewhere along the line.

Alpine fucked up so badly with the Piastri screwup that it gets forgotten how badly they screwed up by throwing Christian Lundgaard out like the Sunday trash.
