Gabe Newell owns The Heart of Racing, an Aston Martin Racing team in sportscar racing, he pretty much single-handedly revived the Valkyrie Le Mans program after Daddy Stroll bought AM and cancelled it in favor of F1 so his kid could feel like a real F1 driver, people have been complaining that the new Valkyrie LMH has overly restrictive mufflers that completely neuter the V12 engine note.
Before mufflers:

A 10.000 RPM V12 Cosworth engine shouldn't be getting drowned out by shitty GT3 Porsches

I should follow this so that I can talk to my girl child, who wants nothing more in the world than to be an F1 mechanic or strategist. She can talk about this for hours and never gets bored.

If he (Magnussen) doesn't get a seat in F1 for next season, I'd like to see him in the WEC. He's very enjoyable to watch on the race track, would be sad to see him disappear.
Magnussen joins BMW in the WEC!
The lineup is him, Vanthoor and Marciello, they are all very competitive, looking forward to next season.
Edit: he also joins BMW in IMSA, sweet

Kimi Raikkonen is the only right answer.

Good riddance for Perez though, can't believe I was rooting for him when he first started struggling.

Yukibros, it's so over. Either RedBull doesn't have really believe in Tsunoda, as he is a hot-headed Honda driver, or their data shows that Lawson is closer to Max in terms of driving style (not speed) and would adapt to next year's car better.

That's a lot of pressure for a nigga with not even a full season of experience.

Who do we think is going to get his seat?
I can see the second RBR seat being a revolving door next year. Lawson, Tsunoda and one other as yet unknown driver.

Lawson is too green and is trying a bit too hard, hence the aggression and unforced errors we've seen since he started with VCARB.

Tsunoda is... well, he's Tsunoda. Hardly a world-beater, and I don't know if he has the chops to survive in the big boy team.

The most ideal scenario for RB is to make a deal with Williams to release Albon, and stick him in the second RBR seat. He seems ready now.

I hope Tsunoda gets a shot. He beat out Lawson pretty handily in the races at the end of the season and he did the drivers test. I'm not expecting a world beating performance but he should be a decent number 2 to Max. Give him until the half way point of the season and reassess, not just 1 race and call it.

Apparently Lawson will get the seat (for now). so what will they do with the 2nd Racing Bull seat? Put in Hadjar? Or hoping Colapinto can be released from his contract?

I wonder if the delay and the "we'll announce it when it's time" line from Horner when asked on the back of Checo leaving is due to them trying to snag someone who isn't either of the VCARB drivers for the main team.

The media can put out as many "Lawson to drive for red bull (according to x rumour/<outlet> understands)" stories as they like but clearly something is holding Red Bull off from announcing it, and I've long since stopped believing a word anyone who claims to be a journalist in this sport has to say.

Surely there are plenty of great drivers both current and past that would jump at a chance to get into that car, it would just be a case of wriggling out of their current contract.

In other news Pourchaire, Maloney and someone no one has heard of (and is irrelevant to the rest of this point) just "graduated" from the Sauber academy so could possibly be tempted into VCARB without a silly Colapinto release clause pay out or promoting an inconsistent frog.

Lawson will be kicked out of the second RBR seat before the Canadian GP. Anyone want to take the over-under on that?

Time for Yuki to lame duck his contract out so he can go to Aston Martin, only to end up on the bench when Daddy Stroll decides to extend his failson.

What is with all the redditors claiming that Yuki's a WDC in the making if only he had the Red Bull seat?

Also, 6 rookies on the grid now? Wow. Maybe 7 if Colapinto gets a seat. I'm a bit pessimistic on all of them turning out to be solid, though. It seems like every team is rushing to find their own Piastri, and it reminds me of when NFL teams will take an athletic QB with a way too high pick because they think he'll be the next Mahomes or Josh Allen and they end up inevitably busting. One thing's certain, though, and that's that RB radios will be the most entertaining next year.
