Verstappens one quick lap looked good but hje made one big mistake in the Parabolica. but the Top 6 covered by 2 thenths. Tomorrow is gonna be insane if they all keep that close.

Maybe insane like this

Leclerc absolute masterclass. I get the feeling he is now the true tyre whisperer of F1. When you can keep that tyre alive for almost 40 laps you gotta have some skill
It also did help that the fastest man on the grid flubbed the first lap and proceeded to have two stints where he simply couldn't keep his tires from dying.

Magnusson banned for the next race after reaching 12 penalty points. Presumably Bearman will sub in for him, wonder when the last time was that someone did that for two different teams in the same season?
Found one: Sebastian Vettel in 2007.

First he did one race for BMW-Sauber as replacement for Kubica, then raced for Toro Rosso as replacement for Scott Speed 8though that was more like a driver swap then real replacement) Still, he drove for two different teams

Holy fuck ferrari out strategied another team. Be careful of those flying pigs people.

Also norris fastest lap on last lap, maybe he should have hammered those tyres a bit harder to try an at least get Oscar?

The championship swing for Norris this race is not good for him. This was an opportunity to make up good points on a struggling RBR but he just didn't go hard enough.

God I love Nico. Drilling Zak on "papaya rules" and why are they are allowing the teammates to fight which may have caused the loss today.
This and Norris going "what now" after overtaking Max last week is rapidly showing McLaren to be Ferrari tier. They just haven't gone under same level of scrutiny because they weren't in front until recently.

It's so wholesome to have a more open grid this year. Yes I'm a Leclerc fan but with McLaren, Mercedes and (not so much) red bull having a chance it's the first year without 1 team having a clear massive advantage I can remember without going full autism. Throw in some younger drivers coming through and it's happy days. In F1.

I still don't get the rapid decline of red bull.
Yes, the other teams made huge advances but red bull has the same championship winning experience, the talent and the hardware. Both drivers complain about the unpredictable car, can't they go back to a previously working iteration?
I really enjoy so many teams fighting for the win now, but the red bull downfall is truly baffling.

It looks like their key members are getting bought left and right. The whole drama surrounding (allegedly) horny Horner looks like just another convenient excuse.

My mostly baseless speculation: the DNA of their ground effect concept has a lower ceiling than the ones from other teams. This is assuming, of course, that the other top teams didn't copy the RB18 floor concept. I occasionally lurk the F1 Technical Forum and one autist there speculated that the RB18 floor behaves more like a flat floor-diffuser compared to other teams that ran a more classical ground effect type floor, like the F1-75 was.

Obviously, without having access to their data and that of the other teams, we're just throwing shit out there.
