Shame really, the track has some real nice characteristics with the banking and elevation changes.
Yeah without the DRS gimme overtakes, they'd have to use some of those great banked corners for overtaking. You'd also get more liklihood of contact and so VSC and SCs to spice up the strategy.

There'd be less overtakes overall though so you'd get reddit crying it was awful because number of overtakes is the only metric by which a race should be judged.

This race has gotten so dull the commentators are just talking driver nationalities as if it is a podcast. Absolutely nothing is happening.

Looks safe

Really dull race, but whilst I still can't see Max losing the title, the constructor's is properly up for grabs now.
The constructors was a forgone conclusion as soon as any other team caught up. Red Bull doesn't have a 2nd driver capable of them winning if any other team challenges with both drivers.

On the other hand they can start designing their 2026 cars from next season and 2nd gets more simulator and wind tunnel time so they probably don't care too much.

Haas' stuff has been impounded due to the unpaid court order to Uralkali.

There are heavy rumours that logan is done and they're sticking Mick in the car for the rest of the season.

So any guesses if Sargeant gets canned from Williams? This feels like a throwback to when de Vries replaced Albon for one race except it would probably be a rpelacement for the rest of the season

More like a throwback to when De Vries got yeeted out of the AT for being shit. Logan is just costing them car parts, mechanic time, and testing time with his current form. He ain't going to be here next season either way, probably best to shuffle him out now than waste the rest of the season when they're in a close battle at the bottom and their new upgrades look promising.

Haas has had the all clear to leave the Netherlands about an hour ago. No idea how much impact it will have on their Monza programme.

Did you guys love it when Croft said in commentary that Mercedes should consider letting Hamilton ahead of Russell, when neither of them were capable of catching the car in front of them.
Crofty makes me want to fedpost more than any other living person. Him calling Tsunoda Ricciardo three times in the first 2 laps had me ready to chimp.

They'd have to find someone willing to go into the car for less than a year due to Sainz/Albon next year. Unlikely unless they have someone desperate but also better than Sargeant. (Mick?)

Outside of Mick, you have people like Bearman, Kimi, Doohan and Liam who [might] have a drive next year so extra experience. Or the likes of Pouchaire, Swartzman and Drugovich who wouldn't mind trying to impress a team. Or a wildcard from Indy coming to give it a try since their races end 15th sept leaving 7 f1 races left.

I hope Mika returns from his sabbatical.

Very random choice, can't see Colapinto performing to impress, I guess if its his only chance for an f1 seat he should take it but its just as likely to kill his career forever.

Its also nice that an "academy" driver got promoted instead of calling in some driver from FE or another F1 team.

He might do well once he settles in after a few races, I expect he will do a bit better than Sargeant at least. Let's see how quick he comes up to speed and if he can get out of Q1 on a couple of times by year's end.

Now if Stroll can just disappear... At least now, there will be no question in 2025 that the poor little rich kid will be the worst driver in F1.
