Look at Danica Patrick. Spent 10 years in Nascar and had sponsors lining up to be on her hood, sold a lot of merchandise despite being concentrated puke. Compared to her teammates who were racing for championships, she was struggling to stay on the lead lap. Hell, there are tons of female drivers who outright suck (Deegan, Decker, Breidinger, etc.) who still have sponsors falling over themselves for them. The second a girl comes along who can compete with the men, she'll be more marketable than Hambone guaranteed.People are always desperate to be victims. Women already get their own subsidised special retard series nobody watches because they suck too much to compete. Not to mention, if ever a woman was able to perform (even at Latifi/Mazepin levels) she'd be snapped up quicker than you can say 'PR and Sponsorship billions'.
There is no glass ceiling in an industry like this, where every team and sponsor would be desperate to have you if you were even remotely qualified.
The suits pushing for a "more diverse audience" failed to take into account that people aren't suddenly going to like motorsports because some guy in it is spouting all the Current Thing catchphrases. Left-wing progressive zoomers and People of Melanin who like motorsports would be fans with or without Pewis Pamilton saying #BLM on Instagram and dressing like a Studio 54 reject.Slightly tangentially but I really hated how much they lorded hambone as an ambassador for the sport with all his fashion, music, social media nonsense. Pre DTS they kept believing all his faggy shit would bring the "wider audience" in to F1 and went as far as giving Seb shit for keeping his private life private and refusing to constantly be on social media.
Of course the people hambone was appealing to with his gay shit wasn't going to translate into motorsport fans and just served to pin the hopes of the sport on fickle insta fashion and shit music followers.
