So RBR wouldn't play ball over Liam, Sauber wouldn't play ball over Théo, and/or "murican" is the most important factor.

Seperately there is some drama brewing about information from private f1 team boss meeting being leaked back to FOM. The fingers of a few of them (not just horner) are pointed squarely at Toto telling things to Susie who as head of F1 academy is an FOM employee. With lots calling his and her position a conflict of interest (which it definitely is).

The F1 season is over, but Toto Wolff is still in the midst of an intense battle with the other teams. The team owners of the competition suspect the Austrian of leaking confidential information to Formula One Management (FOM) and Liberty Media - the owner of Formula 1. In turn, Toto Wolff is said to be getting info he is not actually supposed to have, precisely from FOM and Liberty Media. So states the authoritative Business F1 Magazine

As team boss/owner of the Mercedes F1 team, Toto Wolff is present at all the meetings the teams have among themselves. As a result, he possesses a lot of confidential knowledge, matters that do not always have to be shared directly with FOM and Liberty Media. The Austrian is married to Susie Wolff, who has been managing director of F1 Academy since last season. This women's racing class is also owned by FOM. In her position, Susie Wolff again receives a lot of confidential information about F1 Academy, FOM and also Formula 1.

Teams in F1 suspect the Wolff couple of exchanging confidential information among themselves. Some unnamed team bosses are said to have already indicated to the FIA that they are troubled by the conflict of interest. According to Business F1, FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem is aware of the growing concerns. But he reportedly has not yet figured out whether this is the usual sarcasm between the teams or whether there is really something going on. The Emirati is reportedly under intense pressure to act against the Wolff family.

The magazine spoke to several team bosses - on condition of anonymity. They refer, for example, to a consultation at which Wolff was also present, who suddenly told something that could only have been known thanks to having heard it from a source within the FOM. One team boss - known to have had a series of conflicts with Wolff - said: "They're saying, 'Hey, we can go and have an internal meeting', and the next thing, it's all over Greg Maffei's (boss of Liberty Media) desk because Toto told his wife, who in turn told Stefano [Domenicali], who's told Greg Maffei."

The team boss closed with: "Stefano's going to know what we said within 30 seconds." Another team boss also responded: "I believe it is illegal. I honeslty believe it is illegal. Certaintly, there's a massive conflict of interest at public company level. Apart from that I believe it's highly unethical."

According to Business F1, Wolff is known to have leaked confidential information before. For instance, the magazine states that it was Wolff who leaked to the media in Singapore '22 that Red Bull Racing had exceeded the budget cap, something the Austrian team did not know at the same time. "This is a time bomb, waiting to off potentially even more serious than what happened in Singapore last year," said an anonymous team boss.

Also monster energy have jumped ship from sponsoring the whingathon on wheels (Mercedes) to sponsoring McLaren.

Oh and Wolff is still seething.

Remember perez just got a slap on the wrist for calling the stewards a joke with the reasoning

"The Stewards explained to the driver that they had no issue with someone disagreeing with their decisions, however comments that amount to personal insults are a breach of the International Sporting Code."

So what does calling a previous race director "an idiot" rise to?

Silly season 2024 going to be nuts.

Apparently in Monegasque Charles Leclerc means untold suffering...

It is rumoured he's getting a 5 year contract till 2029. Carlos wants a 2 year but Ferrari wants 1. Italian Archive

Reddit has found their new woman who is totaly gonna make it in Dorian Pin (previous were Chadwick and Noda), lets look past their inability to use wikipedia and she actually completed 2/3rds (or 6) of the point scoring races and not 50%.

In the winter SEA series she came 2nd, that's great right? well 3rd place competed in only 1/3rd (or 3) of the races and won them all. (Hadrien David)

I really hope not. We don't need any more faggot street shit, if you want that then formula milkfloat does it. Barcelona is a great track and should definitely not be replaced with closed street nonsense.

In other news the 100km cancer races have been announced or 2024

SmartSelect_20231205_181748_Brave.jpg

It sounds like they're moving the spring shitout to Friday, the actual event to Saturday morning, the actual real qualifying Saturday afternoont and the race Sunday.

It would mean 2 Parc fermes, one after the shitout which ends in the aids race and one after the qualifying people actually care about which ends at the start of the actual race.

The media are still going "muh reverse grid" as if its a thing that could actually happen given they need all 10 teams to agree to it.

So basically the way to make their shit work is to totally sever it from the real event.

Street circuits peaked when Adelaide was introduced in 1985. They've been going downhill ever since.

That's the worst part. I get why F1 would go down the street circuit path when a race is introduced to a new city or country, but when there's a perfectly good racetrack in the same city it just seems ludicrous.

Makes sense that 2 of the 6 pretend races are scheduled for the USA. I'm surprised Vegas didn't get one too, as a cherry on top of that particular shit sandwich.

Or dragging "celebraties" to show amd interview on the grid before they leave to go to something they actually car about before the first pit stops even occur.
I mean all of them into the fire. But what I don't get is you're there to be seen, why try to get away from Brundle? This is what you wanted.

People being dipshits trying to dodge him, getting security to play pretend etc makes the news (for some dumb reason), people doing normal interviews and not acting like pricks doesn't.

Drivers with the highest (estimated) crash damage of 2023.

Also look at this nonsense claim.
SmartSelect_20231205_234520_Brave.jpg

So either they had a model that said this and went "should we try to win some races at the end of the season? Nah let's wait", or they've suddenly pulled a design out their ass that does this.

I can't wait for them to design a car according to these models and be smacked hard with correlation problems because no way this overly optimistic estimate translates to the real world. The best part is this will put them off designing something that will gain them 0.5 that could actually exist because look at those gains.

FIA have launched an investigation into Susie and Toto regarding a potential conflict of interest.

Of course Susie, only in the management position of academy because woman, pulls the muh oppressed woman card.

Of course reddit is eating it up and accusing the media and FIA of misogyny and racism (because muh lewlew is in the team) over this. Saying its a terrible look and they've lost all credibility. As if this sort of allegation isn't major and needs to be investigated.

Reddit shoehorning in muh heckin' sexism, misogyny and racism and other forms of buzzwords these users keep projecting rather than having to make proper conclusions is so easy for them that it's just lazy

The FIA has issued a testing ban on all 2026 aerodynamics until January 1st 2025. So while the teams can make preparations like drawing up cars the real aerotests in the windtunnel under full speed are prohibited. Makes me kind of wonder how they will actually control this?

Lulu and Toto cried like crazy to make this happen because "muh Red Bull advantage".

The way I read this, it suggests there's nothing to stop teams from using computer simulations for aero testing. I realise a sim model is only as good as its underlying code, but it might give the teams at least some idea of whether their 2026 designs are on the right track.
