They kicked all the fans out at 1:30 AM before FP2, which they had paid for.

I bet they’re going to be sued, especially considering how expensive the tickets were. If the organizers are smart they should be giving out refunds and free tickets for next year, unless they want the court to order them to pay far, far more. The drain cover popping off is incompetence, not an “act of god”.

Greedy morons can get fucked. They claim they want to grow American interest in the sport by not using any existing race track, by charging prices no fan can afford, and by scheduling everything when every American is asleep.
Per Reddit, the rumor is that eight of the other teams came to Ferrari’s defense and argued that they should not be penalized. One of them argued that they should be penalized. Guess Who? Mercedes

Indy 05 all over again for American fans.

A really poor demonstration of the sport to potentially millions of new viewers, the FIA need to massively rethink their priorities and quit chasing that easy $$$.

This looks like it's gonna be the most epic shitshow to happen on F1 since the 2005 US GP.

I had that phrase above on draft since the day after the Brazil GP, and it appears it is heading that way.
I mean, open manholes? Freezing temperatures? Sessions at 2 in the fucking morning? Drivers already pissed off at the track? What else do we need to shaft this farce once and for all?

Imagine Toto's response if it were Lewis that hit the valve cover and destroyed his car.

I saw people saying that it ripped a hole straight through the cockpit floor. Sainz was probably inches away from being seriously injured. It also damaged the battery, and lithium batteries aren't exactly known for being stable.

With all those undiscovered graves in the desert you would think that Las Vegas would be capable of doing a more competent job when it came to filling holes.

The weekend is rapidly gathering downward momentum on a lubed-up ramp leading to a vat sex-starved AIDS sharks, and I have questions, such as: What members of Toto Wolff's family are being held hostage, and what threats are being leveraged against him, that are causing him to shill this hard for Liberty Media and their abortion of a circuit?

Also: What else can go wrong?

A Ferrari mechanic absently places an important piece of Leclerc's car on a roulette table and loses it on a spin of the wheel?

U2 hijack the driver to pit-wall radio communication feed with a guerrilla live show comprising reworkings of songs recorded after 2015?

If there was ever going to be a freak accident that kills or maims a driver, or takes a out a cross-section of the spectators, then it is going to happen in Vegas.

I hear that it can be hard to get proper cheese there too.

The hilarious reason for having to turf the fans out of FP2? The security was only paid up till 2am and so they wouldn't have any stands security for the fans.

The drivers finished FP2 at 4am, then even if they didn't bother with driver debriefs etc they probably didn't get to their rooms till about 5am. The driver meeting is scheduled for 6.30pm and FP3 is at 8.30pm. How knackered are the drivers going to be after all this mess?

How pissed do you think hambone is that he got stuck doing what he's paid for rather than slinking off to some secret party with some hookers to pretend he's a real g (because he's so desperate for the murican darkies to accept him as one of them).

Extremely pissed. He's probably been looking forward to this race all year so he could get down with some trannies at some private party since Vegas is full of them. I mean, he's not fooling anyone with those "threads" he insists on wearing. And the rainbow flag on his helmet.

Edit: JFC, why is Toto such an obnoxious dick-riding faggot?

I could have sworn that it said fp2 would be at 10:00, but apparently it happened at 2 after they kicked all the fans out of the stands. I knew this race was going to be a disaster but I thought the fuckups would be on track.

Edit: it did say it. Unless they're talking in eurocuck time on fucking espn in the United States.

Yup it was the sky feed so that was UK time. Vegas is GMT-8.

At any other event (ie, after a red flag), they would say "session resumes at X time local". Watching the replay they eventually do after half an hour, but there were definitely plenty of people who saw 10 and turned the TV off. For all this talk of wanting to break into the US market, utter contempt for the fans who paid to be there and the people watching isn't going to go well.

According to reddit ticketmaster is saying no refunds on tickets for the farce that was 8 minute FP1 and kicked out before FP2 because the event was not cancelled and went ahead so their T&Cs say "fuck you".

Will be interesting if FOM choose to issue refunds or if they all rub their hands together having scammed people out of a lot of money (some guy on reddit had a FP1 and FP2 only ticket which cost $500).

Notice no "and well find a way to compensate you for it".

It doesn't matter what the T&C's say if a class-action lawyer smells blood in the water.
