The sphere will be busy showing dipshit fans while the camera is focusing on it.
I can see it now. A fierce battle for 3rd between say Carlos, George and Lando with half a second between them and Sky F1 will show a 20 second shot of some dickhead mumble rapper in the VIP section instead.

Ok I may have jinxed Carlos by having a punt on him but I'll take the glorious shitshow.

The thing is, they must have been aware of this potential problem, it's happened before, and these cars probably have more suction on the floor than ever in f1 history. So either it's a freak accident after 9 mins of running or none of the manhole covers are safe because it's a construction problem, good luck sorting that out.

I was just heading to bed and not watching FP1. But drain cover issue again? Too bad it didn't fly off like a frisbee and decapitate some celeb. And of course it had to be a fucking Ferrari from what you guys seem to be saying.

What race did same thing happen at a few years ago and they had to weld a bunch of covers or drainage gates down? I dont think it was Singapore but that would seem the likely candidate. Anyone remember? Too tired to google it. LOL

Looks like something of interest that will make it worth to watch the FPs when I wake up tomorrow.

Yes, Carlos just randomly stopped cause it somehow killed his engine, dunno the damage, and apparently it also took out Ocon to the point he needs a new chassis.
And to answer your question, the Georpedo had it happen in Baku in 2019.

Shoutout Haas for actually saying something thru social media about FP2 unlike F1. What a clusterfuck.

That's some major damage, apparently wrote off a brand new ferrari ICE.

The FIA are apparently looking at letting them replace it with another brand new unit without penalty but the matter if how much that eats into the budget in the cost cap era is a different matter.

It would be another hilarious mess if the stewards still penalise both for the survival cell change.

Toto is running aroind playing Vegas gp PR at every opportunity.

And another 15 minute delay, going to be 2.15 in the morning for 90 mins which then leads to the question about driver welfare being up that late compared to the midnight start with 1 hour they were expecting.

To add to the shit show, they've closed the stands and kicked out everyone so no spectators for FP2. This is glorious.
