Audi have apparently scheduled a board level review of the F1 entry plan.

The new CEO hasn't said either way if he supports the entry and rumour has it they're already behind and over budget on their engine development for '26.

Since they're the ones that basically dictated the 2026 engine regs to the FIA it'll be super embarrassing if they pull the plug.

The FIA cucking to manufacturer onfy for the new CEO of said manufacturer to bailed on them , a classic :story:

So there are rumors going around on X that the AbuDhabi GP is getting cancelled due to current events (hint hint)

X

That would mean F1 would end in Las Vegas. And of course F1 X is already seething "They don't want Hamilton to take 2nd place!"

That's apparently gone but there's other posts out there. The seethe's funny but it wouldn't make much sense. Qatar went off when the whole thing was starting and we didn't even know the whole scope yet. Now everyone's on red alert in the area.

Interesting take from F1 media here...

"He drove 0.5 seconds a lap faster" - exclusive story.

Seriously why are they constantly trying to make the narrative hambone was close. Everyone saw the race right? They could see he had zero chance.

Classic Hambone fans, nothing new. I love reading them seethe.
Correct. If anything, it's remarkable that there hasn't been an attempt to do some Munich Olympics tier shit in F1 yet.
We already have Sargeant, It's enough horror.

Any Max fans gonna face up to how Sergio was winning races this season (Saudi/ Azerbaijan) right up to the point he said he could beat Max, then he was downtuned to midfield?

"Hurr durr downtuned". Go back to reddit with the DTS tier takes. Both cars have had very similar speed trap speed all season, so explain how that is the case given "downtuning".

Or assuming it's just the latest "I don't understand how cars work" buzzword and you actually believe the "hurr durr b spec car". Look up where the majority of costs in F1 are, now explain why they would increase those in a cost cap era to ruin their own driver's point scoring ability.

Ultimately Max's insane Miami stint got in Checo's head and it went from there. Checo is a solid driver, but he's mever been a superstar.

Even early season results show the disparity:

Bahrain - Max won by 12 seconds,
Saudi - Checo was only 5 seconds ahead after stating on pole and Max on 15th
Azerbaijan - Checo wins by 2 secons, after Max pitted during a live race and he did so under a safety car, saving about 11 second.
Miami - Max comes from 9th to beat pole sitter Checo by 5 seconds.

Checo was never a strong competition to Max, he was just getting the rub of the green. Once the Miami buck breaking occurred and he went full yips that was the end of that and he's only just building back from that now.

"hurr durr b spec car"
Furthermore it might be impossible to do that sort of thing anymore. Someone asked one of the big NASCAR teams recently about 'customer' vs 'team' engines and got told the tolerances are so close on all the parts now that every single engine ends up in about a half a horsepower spread.

Now extrapolate that to F1 engineering.

Sergio Perez also has a specific thing he's good at, accelerating out of slowish, esp 90 degree, corners. It's why he's had good results in places like Baku or other street circuits where you'll find those. He is genuinely quick around that section of 3 90 degree turns in Baku, even compared to Max. The difference is Max is quicker and better at conserving tyres everywhere else because he drives shorter corners and can manipulate the car better.

Also of note, Max drove a few races this year in Checo's 'style' focusing on higher cornering speeds (Spain due to tyre warmup, Austin due to brake problems) and still smashed him, so even saying the car is suited to Max's style no longer counts. At best it's become harder to drive as they develop it to be quicker, causing the gap to grow.

The huge storm at the end of qualifying collapsed one of the stand's roof

Russel, Ocon, and Gasly all got 2 place penalties for obstructing in the pits (particularl lol at Russell, he was the one bitching in Singapore to start this whole thing, he got investigated for it last week, and he did it again after they specifically set out rules for this race)

That race was all the sweeter because the build up featured so much "merc and Lewis have got this, they're specialists here and their car is set up for the race rather than qualy" coping. Like oh really?

Checo's best hope remains a NASCAR-adjacent series that races on rectangular circuits.

Why the fuck are you on the way to find out an emerging story about work on a car and end up talking to some "celebrity" who is nothing to do with the sport?

Ferrari pull another one.
