Assuming he doesn't fuck up, the chances of Ricciardo getting that RBR seat a year early will be much stronger after this race.
I really like Danny as a driver and a person, and I still think it's fucking weird that everyone is assuming he's the best driver Red Bull can pull.

He is possibly the best wingman for Max though, which is probably the idea.

As long as he's realistic about his future WDC prospects and is happy to have fun with one of the best cars on the grid (assuming RBR's R&D doesn't go sideways with all the changes coming up over the next few years), Ric could have an enjoyable few years ahead of him as the only pressure he'd have is to ensure RBR wins the Constructors' Championship, which is more of a team-oriented award as it needs the best designers and engineers to make it happen.

EDIT: FFS Stroll

Oh I agree.

Now, the music: I love how unintentionally based Europe is sometimes. Can you imagine the damn 'appropriation' fuss in the US if NASCAR laid down some sudden mariachi themed compositions for a Mexican race?

Also the fuck is this runoff area podium? I like it's close to the fans, at least. Kind of - behind two fences. I want someone to manage to crowd-dive sometime like Newgarden at the 500.

Wtf did Sargeant do? He really can’t do anything right.

Seeing these made me kinda feel bad for the guy, seems over for the guy by the looks on folks faces at least. But when you think about all the overnights both sides of the garage have had to put in it does start to make sense. I get it. If you were working in some sort of winning environment were everyone was doing there job exceptionally and striving to be the best except for this one guy who every single week fucks up not only costs the company millions of dollars, but makes a complete mockery of the product everyones worked so hard to put forth, you'd fucking hate that guy. I kinda do just thinking about it.

I found that to be a rather uneven spectacle in terms of entertainment. Norris was splendid - an aggressive drive tempered with a sense of realism that eluded Perez, who had a great start and should have settled into third, and Tsunoda, who has become well-versed this season in clearing backmarkers but who lacks experience, and failed to take more care at the competitive end of the field. I was surprised that Ricciardo managed to avoid sliding too far back down the field, but can he do it again at the next race? The Mercedes is frustratingly close to be competitive again. Maybe next year.

Yuki got a lot of dick sucking at the start of the season about how he had calmed down and matured, but he was up against a struggling rookie and expectations for the car were rock bottom. Now with Danny Ric (and even Lawson to an extent) putting pressure on him you'll see he's still the same guy.

If Daniel has agreed to be a good second driver (I'm assuming they had the talk with him pre-AT) this is the kind of weekend which will get him back in the red bull. The damage alone Checo has caused this year is a real problem, he's weakening both his and Max's car for next year and onwards too with the budget cap in place.

Without the red it would have been a far more interesting race. The ferraris trying to go for a 1 stop, Max going for an aggressive 2 stop. How it would have worked out for the likes of Norris with his alternate strategy. As it was the red cam at the right moment to nullify all long term strategy and make it just a slightly longer sprint race.

In other news Theo is eying ways to destroy his F1 career. Nothing kills a strong F2 driver's chances of F1 like moving to Indy, it's got to be 2nd to Formula E in the poor career decisions category. Those are both series you move to once your F1 career is done, moving to them before you even have an F1 career is just saying it's done before it started.

Lando is the real deal. I suspect if he were in the second RBR seat, he'd be giving Max a hard time.

I'm not entirely surprised by this individual performance as I am about how solid his comeback has been in general. After a few frustrating post-RBR years culminating in the loss of his McLaren seat to a fellow Aussie of all people, it seems like he's on his way back.

I suspect the only reason Hambone is sticking around is because he wants to beat Schumi's WDC record rather than just equal it. We're stuck with him until Mercedes can give him the best car on the grid, as without that he has no chance.

Tsunoda is keeping the Japanese tradition of producing mediocre F1 drivers alive.

Assuming Checo gets punted from RBR, you'd think that Lawson would get the second AT seat no worries.

If Red Bull is serious about AT, they'd be negotiating with Williams to swap Albon and Tsunoda. An Albon/Lawson AT would keep the likes of McLaren and Ferrari honest, and could even give Mercedes a bit of a scare now and then.

I've felt that Lawson was at least given some strong indication/'promise' of an AT seat given how quickly he dismissed any idea of going to Williams, he seems very comfortable in his position. Neither Checo nor Daniel are junior drivers, they're there to compete for being in the second red bull, and only one will remain eventually. I'd say the end of next season at the latest, probably sooner.

Tsunoda might end up at Aston eventually too, if Lance finally becomes untenable and Honda wants him there.

With AM entering WEC and going to LeMans it's likely Lance will go there, daddy strolls money can make a good car and hire two absolute top driver that should be able to carry Lance unless he bins it.
I remember catching a blurb around time he got pissy in the garage that Lance supposedly wanted to leave/quit and his father wouldn't let him! Seems like that would be a bit of lunacy either side of the coin. It is an interesting situation to watch unfold, man with tons of money owns F1 team and has (at least at beginning of year) the second best team in Formula 1, yet has his blind and moronic son driving the car which is bad for the brand, looks dumb and is adversely affecting development and maintaining those initial great results at start of season and of course losing out on millions in prize money for finishing lower in the WCC. The only benefit right now is that they will have more development hours allocated for 2024 due to finishing 5th.

Personally I'd like to see Stroll Sr buy a NASCAR team and Lance goes there that way when he starts colliding with other cars it won't matter as much since rubbing is racing there.

Whatever transpires with Stroll, I will be celebrating big time when him and the jigaboo are out of F1. Probably have at least 2 more years of one or both though so its a slow burn until we reach the promised land.
