Also, what the fuck is wrong with Gasly? That prick has been getting on my nerves for several years now, always raging as if his own shit doesn't stink. His latest "moment" with Sainz after the race is really pathetic, especially when Stroll was the one he should be angry at. He's perhaps the biggest asshole I've seen in the sport.
You have to understand, he's a Frenchman.

Seeing some F1 fans seethe over Nyck De Vries’ sacking is bizarre

DeVries is a racing veteran, having been in FE & F2 world champion. He’s 28, and has years under his belt. He sucked at F1 and thus was sacked

Nothing abnormal here to me personally

The latest one is telling everyone he was the first ever Dutch motor racing World champion to also try and dig at Max. They leave out that it was in a joke series driving washing machines around tiny city street tracks with social media voting to hand out advantages.

The other one is calling it ATs fault for giving him the worst car and expecting results, but Yuki has the same car and while the car is bad he was utterly smoking debris.

I had some doubts about De Vries.
I know de Vries is connected to Mercedes and his name keeps coming up as potential F1 material, but he's probably a bit too old to debut on the F1 grid now. Yeah, I know 27 isn't that old... but we're in an era where most rookies get their first real F1 drive (i.e. not a test driver or reserve) in their early 20s.

de Vries being a two-time FE champion is more of a curse than blessing as well.
But I was happy to be proven wrong... or at least I thought I was wrong at the time.
I've never been happier to be proven wrong. I honestly didn't think De Vries had a chance, even after his stellar performance at Monza, all because 27 seems a bit old to be starting a full-time F1 drive in the current era.
I think I was too dazzled by De Vries' admittedly epic drive at Monza, but I know I wasn't the only one.

On the plus side, at least Nyck can say he was an F1 driver for a little while. It's a cool story he can tell his grandkids.

Maybe I should have stuck with my initial opinion regarding De Vries' age and the stink of FE all over him being impediments to an F1 career.

This is probably coming from Hambone fanboys. The enemy of my enemy and all that.

I know the narrative around Ricciardo slotting into AT is Helmut's way of putting Checo under pressure, but I reckon it's going to put Tsunoda under just as much pressure (or maybe even more depending on how striking the difference is between the two AT drivers' performances for the rest of the season).

If Ricc can do with that AT what Alonso is doing with that AM, that will really throw some shade at Tsunoda.

Ofc if Ricc's stint with AT is on par with his 2022 season at McLaren, then I reckon that'll be the end of his F1 career.

I thought I had posted more about De Vries but this one seems especially apt

I would laugh my ass off if de vries managed to piss his F1 opportunity up the wall before even finishing a season. I still maintain my laughing at all the people who were talking him up so much before coming into the team with even DTS implying he would murder Yuki.

Guy is and always was mediocre, he just had Toto running PR for him to make everyone think he was the next big thing and so many people bought it.

One of the things I read which gave me a laugh was "he only had limited testing pre-season", said after the race where another rookie qualified 3rd and if not for dumb safely car luck would have finished there too.

DEV was a joke choice from the get go and should have not even been signed. Plus he looks weird. Glad he is gone, but I fear as has been said, this may be the end of Ric if Yuki out does him.

Toto was drunk out of his mind one night and walked into the Orangutan enclosure at the Berlin Zoo and had his way with a young female Orangutan and eight and a half months later, Nyck was born.

That is why Toto has been so protective of him.

I don't know, I kind of feel like he's going to falter against Yuki. I don't think he has it in him anymore. Alonso is an anomaly, I doubt we'll see anyone else like him for a long time.

And even if he does match or beat Tsunoda, he'll just be promoted to firm number 2 to Max, they're not going to let him be a challenge. As of right now Yuki seems to be firmly in control at AT just by circumstance and not being a useless driver.

Either way, IMO it'll either be the end of Ric, or the beginning of the of his final years with a managed decline as a number 2. Perez has already reached the later of these 2 options, he just hasn't realized it.

Just imagine the lolz if Riccardo managed to out-qualify Perez next weekend.
This isn’t that unreasonable considering Logan fucking Sargeant qualified better than Checo last week. Historically at Hungary, Checo’s either qualifying 4th (twice) or not making it to Q3 (some exceptions). Riccardo hasn’t been great there in recent years, but he’s had a good number of Q3s before that.

The megahypocrit is at it again

"it's so boring having on team winning", should have told merc to stop developing and let the tother catch up in 14-21 then lewlew.

"the rules favour them staying on top", you mean like the engine token system?

"This is totally the race merc catch up to red bull, honest". Sky F1 have overdosed on copium and started using it as an embalming fluid.

Rumour has it 3 teams breached the coat cap last season, though no names. It's sent the usual lot seething about how obviously red bull did how else are they beating little lewlew. I will die from laughing if Merc gets pointed to. As we all know British sports fans are the worst sports out there and just say the other side cheated whenever they lose so watching them aggressively ignore it would be hilarious.

In other news sky F1 went searching for how to make their coverage even worse and came up with this.

I checked and yup they're all preteens.

From what I've heard from this thread, they can't be any worse.
There’s a reason that children are almost universally considered obnoxious in online games, and it’s not the lack of experience. It’s their voices, which is why the term squeaker exists. There are no benefits that can come from adding children to something that’s listened too.

Speaking of children, K Mag now has a second.

Squeaker coverage might even be an upgrade to the usual sky affair

Calling it now: the pipsqueak commentary team will consist of some or all of the following:
  1. Niglet with giant gaptooth and massive forehead bordered by dreadlocks
  2. Sikh kid with one of those little mini-turbans
  3. White girl whose last name is Stztyisczczczczzczuk
