Everyone getting black and white flags today. Somehow Hulk got one after his car had given up on life. Could just be Sky being too incompetent to tell the difference between Hulk and K Mag considering they thought K Mag was defending when he was in dead last. Mercedes remain dirty down low snitches.

de Vries is really K Mag’s worst enemy recently with how he’s terrorized him. It’s almost impressive how hazardous de Vries is when he’s jockeying for position with another driver.

The commentators are getting really annoying about these penalties. Why should the drivers that actually keep it in the lines, and so be slower get penalised? Vestappen and Leclerc have been fine without even a black and white.

Max going fuck the gap I want a fastest lap.

It really is a one man race for the championship at this point. Not that it hasn’t, but Max being far ahead enough of Leclerc to pit just to attempt getting the fastest lap really shows his dominance. Shoutout Yuki getting 25 seconds of penalties, he wanted to show this thread he’s not ready to step up. Good race for Ferrari, the worst blunder they had was slow stops.

In a sport where space-age materials meet with design innovation, there must surely be a happy medium between a painted white line and a race-ending gravel trap, that imposes a natural physical penalty on drivers for breaching track limits. I find the whining and tattling over the radio more annoying than the penalties themselves.

The commentary team were particularly grating today, with whoever they had covering the pits doing their best impression of someone who has never seen an F1 race before.

There is no shortage of women out there with a deep knowledge of F1. If you're going for gender diversity then pick one of those. There really is no excuse for giving the job to someone who combines a superficial understanding of the sport, with the demeanor of a deer in the headlights whenever the race commentators pitch her a softball question.

Sorry can't quote though the buttons.

She was a strategy engineer at Aston so does know her shit she's just clearly not comfortable in a commentary/TV role.

In other news rip jet pack dude

Just some idiot's thoughts.

Leclerc only gets 2nd because of Carlos' brilliant defense against Checo. It reminded me of Ocan getting a win because Alonso pretty much showed the world he is better at Hamilton, even in a fucking sled. And kudos for both drivers as once again, Ferrari has no fucking idea what race strategy is.

I bet Toto cannot wait for Sir Lewis to retire. All the drivers were bitching about track limit violations but it's only Mercedes where they have to beg their driver to focus on the race. I would not be shocked if this is Lewis' last year with the team. His ego is way to much to deal with considering his lack of success.

Hell of a good race by Norris and Checo. Lol Yuki.

Coming soon, the Revenge of the Stewards:

Also over 100 deleted laps, amateurs!

Just went and checked before it gets too spicy. The last stop won't screw Max even if they find a penalty.

You have to assume some drivers who got 5 second penalties early on probably did it a bunch more without further penalty. Hambone being the earliest of the lot.

Edit post doesn't see to be working right so new one...

Penalties incoming

New list of penalties. Both Lewlew and Sainz got further penalties so dropped places

That grab bag of hesitant, half-finished sentences that eventually crystallised into "they've gotta go for it", when asked for her take on Verstappen's last minute pit stop, is shocking coming someone who was formerly a head of race strategy.

Transition from pit wall to television presenter be damned - you expect a cooler head and less foundering from somebody with that level of experience.

The Brundles of this world, who can provide genuine insight without getting too technical on the one hand, or dumbing down too much on the other, are a rare breed.

I like this bit of the stewards saying please fix this shit.

A gravel trap 2 inch closer than the width of a car to the track would soon sort it out. Though then they'd probably be crying about safety.

What a shame the man who was complaining the most about other cars violating track limits got an additional penalty. Ocon, Yuki, and de Vries seemed to have decided to race for the most penalties, all had 25+ seconds.

Alonso is only 17 away from Checo. That looks to be the more interesting competition, along with Aston and Merc fighting for second in the constructors.
