Someone watching Le Mans? For an endurance race it was certainly very action packed up until this point. Not at all what I was expecting. This is the live cockpit from one of the Ferrari Hypercars

Yes, Toyota got fucked by the BOP and Ferrari are subhuman niggers. Only good things were Corvette Racing winning their final LM24 and that ridiculous NASCAR Cup car actually lasting the whole 24 hours

Ferrari actually won LOL Mans.
I tried watching it, but every time I tune in there's a full course yellow or a safety car with an hour long convoluted unlapping procedure to "ensure fairness". No wonder all the mechanics are asleep
Same. I tune in and there was a procession due to a safety car.

Then, there's the commentary. I swear I recall those mofos going on about how they don't have inters to cut down on freight because they don't need it most of the time. Saves the environment apparently.

Well, we got a water theme park in certain segments. The absolute state.

I was watching someone streaming on YT then it got yeeted about 4 hours in and couldn't find another. Figured watch rest next day. Wake up, look at twitter and within first couple tweets is Ferrari wins LeMans. So ruined that plan. But that's pretty big for them to win, maybe their F1 team will take some tips from them.

And those news headlines @Coccxys posted are just nuts. Where did all that shit start up from? I can understand 1 item, but you have Perez axed, George axed, Max to Ferrari. Miracle they didn't have one about Stroll leaving AM because Alonso making him look real bad. I assume there is not an ounce of substance to any of those headlines.

Tiny bit sad I didn't make a plan to go to Montreal this year. I don't have too many years left to go to another Cdn GP, so maybe next year I will commit. Watch it be either a totally goofy race and Stroll or another unpredictable winner, or it will be a total borefest. Way to early for a forecast, but currently shows possible showers all three days with Sunday being the lowest possibility.

I love the part where the car somehow got delayed in moving during their final stop. It would have been so Ferrari to be winning the race only for a screw stop to bottle it.

Unless Max wall of champions it or his car decides its time to fall apart I'm guessing noting insane is going to happen. That long ass straight coming out of the hairpin with DRS means the red bulls are probably going to be unbeatable nomatter where they start.

Not a bit, they all cite eachother as "reported by x" so the usual bored media incestuous circle jerk.

I've never been hugely interested watching in endurance racing. I love the idea of the extreme stress test, but I'm not going to spend 6+ hours actively watching it. And if I'm just putting it on as background noise I may as well put Bobs Burgers on again.

I did tune in for the last hour-ish though. Ferrari almost threw it all away when they had trouble restarting the car on the last pit stop.

Same here. I can happily check in and watch 10-15 minutes at time while I'm taking a break from doing something else, but I couldn't watch it for hours on end. It's kinda like test cricket in that regard.
Endurance racing is fun when you're actually camping alongside the track.
Another thing endurance racing and test cricket have in common. It's way more fun to go to a 5-day test if beer is involved. Though it does get a bit expensive if one goes for the whole match and it runs for the full 5 days, which is probably why I prefer the ODI format (T20 is way too short to watch at the ground; you only get around 4 beers in - maybe 5 tops - before the match is over).

Le Mans was okay, what I got to watch. The weird unlapping thing making safety cars take half an hour gots to go, I don't care how fair it is.

Set up my laptop on top of the car so we could watch during the lulls in the Detroit GP warmup. Everyone was 'this is awful' except the one girl who was happy Hambone got a podium for once.

Well here we have it the "x to be fired/y to join team z" headlines have reached peak retard.

Like to cover the previously retarded nonsense obviously merc isn't about to fire Russell when he's the future they bet everything on, redbull ain't about to eject Perez when he's the perfect 2nd driver, and Max isn't about to herp derp his way from a newey designed rocket ship into a team that can't strategy.

But this, this is pants shitingly stupid. No way daddy stroll buys him a seat, then a team, then an entire car company only to yeet him when the investments are coming good.

I'll save you searching for it, the source for this is a guy who entered 8 F1 grand prix, qualified for none in the 80s, and came 6th in Le Mans in the early 90s saying "I recon..."

To be honest though, out of all the loony headlines you have posted man, this is the one that would be the best move and smartest one to make.

Don't care if I am Canadian or not, I can't handle Lance being in F1 for another 10-15 years. AM could easily be 2nd place in the standings if they had a Perez type driver. Alonso is outscoring him nearly 3-1, which considering how good the car is, that should not be the case.

I honestly wish he would get glasses as I think that must contribute to him being shit. He did look reasonably good in some lower categories and has had a moment or two in F1, but given he is now in his 6 or 7th season I think, chances are he isn't going to improve in a major way. He has averaged less than 2 points per race in his career.

But yeah, he is a lock to stay in F1 unless he actually kills someone then he may be banished, but as long as his father owns a team (and remains mega rich), he will probably be around for at least another decade.

And horror though...what if Lance Stroll was born female and followed the path he did? We'd have a female racing. Well actually we kinda do anyway given how Lance drives now.

Wasn't Villeneuve a Canadian driver who needed glasses? Time really is a flat circle. :story:
