Also anyone know what's happened to penalty points? There haven't been any handed out in ages in these decisions. Have they just quietly dropped the whole thing? I know they've been avoiding giving them to Gasly for ages to avoid a race ban on totting up, making a joke of the whole thing.

They still exist, Russell and Hulk both got some at Monaco but they seem to be handing them out less this year only Russell, Hulk and Sainz have gotten any this year and all for causing a collision.

 
The commentators really have a boner for Russell don't they? I always thought their hamboner was bad but they've decided they need a younger model. Hopefully merc never get back to the front or it really will become insufferable.

How is Botas saying he's going to slow other drivers so bad? It's a major part of the sport. Its the same as the redditor dts morons crying about perez defending from hambone instead of just letting him past.

Well that race was shit.

Strategy seemingly made no difference, the "overtakes" were all nonsense DRS crap, the gaps were all too huge for interesting battles, and as much as they talked up Perez gaining it was obvious very quickly he wasn't gaining fast enough.
 
If it had been track temps in the 40s like in practice then strategy would have had a big effect but unfortunately it was cool enough that tyres and therefore strategy made little difference. Based on Friday is was very close between a 2 and a 3 stop, the cooler weather made it an easy 2.

I don't think even rain would have solved the issue. When Russell mistakenly said it's raining the gaps were all so large everyone would have just pitted for inters and nothing would have changed.

Really wish K Mag wasn't unable to get to Q3 outside of a select few tracks because it's painful watching Hulk squander good qualifying unless there's a mass casualty event. Haas manages to continue to be ass at pit stops, don't see other teams getting so many normal stops in the 5s or higher.
 
Those Haas pit problems were just odd they had a rear jack failure which lead to a long stop, then at the next stop they used the same bloody jack again and end up with a long stop.

I don't care if you checked the jack and thought it should be OK, it went wrong once so use the spare next time until it has been properly inspected at the factory.

Also steward's report on the Steiner summons, I love the "if I wanted to insult you I would".

With Formula Max in full swing, I'm glad that Indy is thankfully having a much more exciting season this year. Even if it is annoying to watch Ilott fuck up and see Grosjean throw good results into the wall every fucking weekend.

So Nelson Piquet got sentenced and has to pay $1 million to gay groups for calling Hamilton a "neguinho":
