I wonder if the expenditure cap means a return is on the cards?
They would have already made an indication on that front. Then again; Formula E seems to be something they're more interested in even though that championship might as well not exist in the eyes of anyone but ESG-obsessed marketing executives, as a holding pattern for drivers who failed to make the cut into F1, and local city councilmen who do want it on their city streets as a "SEE? WE ARE HELPING TOURISM AND ENVIRONMENT AT THE SAME TIME!" type deal that nobody who likes motorsports gives a shit about.

Well, its about that time to start on 2023! Here is that great calendar I mentioned last year which is fantastic for having a schedule of all racing action. They do a great job with it and it is always updated. It is available as a Google doc:

So this coming weekend the schedule shows the 6HR Abu Dhabi race is happening as well as IMSA at Daytona with the Rolex 24HR next weekend. The 500 will be on Feb 19th.

We also have our main racing series of interest with F1 car launches and testing in about a month. I hope the broadcast some/all of the testing. I will provide links for streams as I have done in the past as and when they appear. It will be interesting to see if the prior reliable streams I used in 2022 will still do the trick or if new ones will have to be sought out. Either way, I do not intend to pay to watch any racing again this year so streams WILL be found and shared here.

I also saw after checking YouTube for the first time in a month or so that we already have had some action happen in 2023. Here are the first 3 races from Round 1 of the "FR Middle East Championship Certified by FIA" from last weekend to get some actual current racing action in the thread. This was the former F3 Asian series won last year by Arthur Leclerc. I watched most every race over the last couple of years, somewhat enjoyable racing at times and fills the void until the big series get up and running at least. I haven't watched these 3 below yet myself.
Hope everyone has had a good holiday break and are pumped up for another year of discussing and ridiculing the usual subjects in F1! Let's hope the racing action and competition will also give us a lot to talk about.

1. Fuck off, go see what the likes of Lauder, Hunt, and Fittipaldi drove if you want dangerous.

2. Why the fuck did you enter it if you thought it was dangerous? The FIA should investigate the fuck out of you for admitting to knowingly sending drivers out in dangerous cars.

Are they not aware of the legend that was Andrea Moda's 1992 Belgian GP pre-qualifying session?

The Jeddah corniche circuit .The organisers of the grand prix have now revealed that a series of further changes will be made ahead of the next race on March 19 next year.

Must be the most deployed safety car circuit of the lot
And it looks like an industrial estate in Wrexham at night

This could be interesting and all.

My prediction is that Ferrari will start rolling a D20 every 5 laps or so to determine their race strategy, if only because that seems to be a more functional solution than whoever they had last year.

Over at Barcelona, there will be a full sector solely for the Verstappen fanboys to release their Agent Orange flares without (hopefully) interrupting the sessions and the race.

Also, they're getting rid of that one chicane.

All car/livery reveals are now announced.

IIRC all but Haas (an early render which they went away from), Merc (actually had sidepods) and Red Bull (FIA show car with actual reveal a bit later) revealed a dumbed down real car last year. This year I'd expect more last year cars with new paint.

Race of Champions is back this weekend and so is Mika.

If you can't find a stream set VPN to one of the many countries where you can watch it on their website.

Clearly I need to figure out the ROC bracket a bit more because I thought last weekend was it.
