The only time I ever hear about it is when there's a 10-shitbox pileup that seems to happen all too often.

Even when there is you likely cannot tell if the images of the cars are before or after the crash because they don’t go fast enough around the shitty street circuits to do any damage.

Let's be 100% honest, Ricciardo would have finished 4th at best were it not for That Incident, Perez driving uncompetitively, Bottas starting from the back, and Leclerc having major strategy regretti.

That plus McLaren team orders to Norris to hold station for the 1-2. I get why they did it but if they hadn't no way Norris doesn't get Ricciardo at some point.

I have to disagree some, because he consistently improved and was putting up results that outperformed the car he had at Renault for much of his 2nd year there. He also beat his teammate both years. I have no idea why he regressed so badly at McLaren and can't seem to bounce back, but I don't think he damaged himself with his Renault performance.

He definitely outperformed that car and his team maye but his move to Renault switched him from "this guy will win a championship" to "this guy is a good likable midfield runner".

Let's not forget he's the guy who moved to RBR and outperformed Seb, true it was after the rule changes had made the car near undrivable but that was the pinnacle of his reputation. Then he got super Max'd. From there it became major player in a top team to decent guy to lead you team and after the McLaren years he doesn't even have that.

He'll be remember similar to Webber and Massa, nice guys who were fast on their day but never quite superstars.

Masi appointed Chair of Supercars Commission​

Former Formula 1 Race Director Michael Masi has been appointed Chair of the Supercars Commission effective immediately.

The Australian takes over from Neil Crompton, who concluded his role as interim Supercars Commission Chair on June 30.

Masi returned to his homeland after departing the FIA in July in the wake of the controversial title-deciding Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the end of last year’s F1 season.

Prior to his time with the FIA and Formula 1, Masi rose through the ranks of Motorsport Australia and worked as Deputy Race Director alongside Tim Schenken for the Supercars Championship.

Supercars CEO Shane Howard, who filled in as interim Chair until a replacement for Crompton was secured, sang high praise for Masi.

“I am delighted the Commission has appointed Michael to this important position for the sport,” he said.

“The role of Commission Chair needs to be an independent, strong and robust leader. They need to effectively manage the Commission and its process, broker compromise where required and be a good communicator.

“Michael has worked closely and industriously with Supercars team owners, principals and stakeholders for many years and returns to Australia with vast experience and leadership which will be invaluable in guiding our sport into the future.

“I have met very few people with such an extensive understanding of the industry combined with an amazing passion. Michael will be a great successor to Neil who did such an outstanding job.

“We welcome Michael back to the pinnacle of racing here in Australia and look forward to working closely with him in his role as Chair of the Commission.”

Masi added: “I view this role as continuing the amazing work already done by Neil and the Commission to lead Supercars into a brand new era with the introduction of the Gen3 Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang.

“I’m very proud to have been appointed to this role and look forward to working with the key stakeholders in the sport to ensure the future is an exciting one for our teams, partners, sponsors and most importantly the fans.”

Masi had been linked with the role for some time, though told Speedcafe.com that it was nothing more than a rumour.

Despite that, speculation about his imminent return to motorsport remained, culminating in today’s confirmation.
 
You know, I don't get why so many LH cultists turn a blind eye to how much faster the Mercedes (particularly Hamilton's) was at the end of the 2021 season as opposed to the first two thirds.

He went from competitively racing (and even struggling) against Norris, Ocon and even Vettel in the Aston Martin, to them not even being a blip on his radar. Max in comparison was above those drivers from the get-go.

As he points out, the British media love making mountains out of molehills when you criticise their athletes even slightly. This effectively takes away all their propaganda for the weekend.

In other news, it looks increasingly likely that Ocon will try and politick Mick into the second Alpine seat, and also that he may be returning to the FDA and renewing his contract. Personally, I hope he gets at least one chance in a team that doesn't do dogshit strategies as Haas has proved several times this year, because even if you factor out attrition, he did really well at Silverstone and Austria, and he deserves to be able to show a better glimpse of his full pace.

Contrary to his detractors, he has actually been outpacing Kevin for most of the season. It's just K-Mag brings it home and does much better on Saturday. As we saw at Spa, Kevin just sunk through the field like a stone and was right on Mick's nose by the end of it.

So I guess that takes a lot of wind out of the sails of Lewbloo's simps. If Masi is still respected enough to do this job, then FIA sure as fuck aren't that unhappy with his work.

This is apparently for the new GIGGLESQUEE breed of female F1 faux fans. No one in their right mind should give the smallest fuck about the meanderings of the personal life of a person known for driving cars, singing songs or acting in movies.

There was a time when theatre actors were considered such lowly people, they were not allowed to be buried on a cemetary and I sorta wish we could go back to those days, before people were bombarded with pointless shit such as this garbage about a random F1 driver's lovelife that I could not give less of a shit about.

Norris, being the consummate rich zoomer, attracts absolutely degenerate fans including the weirdo female faux fans that obsess about who he's fucking. They want him to be a (not too) sexless idol that they can dream about marrying one day, or something. He's made his bed and he can sleep in it.
Have you seen how he acts around the female COD streamer he hired for his racing esports group? Lots of YouTube commenters thought they were in a relationship, even though he was dating Luisa at the time.

It makes me wonder why Vettel suddenly had a complete shitbrain moment and actually started going on social media this year. Is it because he thinks he's untouchable with his environment nonsense?

Just found this thread and I am slowly getting into motorsports. While he is retired, Kimi Râikönnen is my favorite driver. He may not have had the best performances but I find his antics quite amusing.
