Leclerc "I want to win all remaining races!"
Also Leclerc *gets a new engine and gear box and starts from the back of the field in Spa"

No hope left. I really hope it rains on race day. If Mercedes is that bad as in the 3rd practice session of Hungary they won't get far

Edit: they just said that Verstappen also will take new parts and start in essence from the back. So they are handing Merc the advantage it seems

Watching Hambone sadly walk up the hill after wrecking himself was a thing of beauty. I could hear Unravel playing in the background.

That was easily my favourite race of this year thus far. Loved how Alonso took none of Hamilton's shit there, doing what he's always done to his rivals and got punted for it. I was so close to putting money on Max the day before, but did not want to risk it.

On top of not having to put up with Merc's usual ratfuckery this race, we also got a few sweet bonuses:
  • 100% finish record gone
  • 100% fag helmet podium ratio gone
  • loss of Merc performance means Hamilton's 1 win per season record may also die this year too
Alonso finishing 5th because of Ferrari's peak clownery was the icing on the cake.

It was a pretty boring race after the safety car ended but Lap 1 was tremendous. Seeing Hamilton turn as if he were still driving his rocketship car from 2020 only to find Alonso on the inside was tremendous, especially when the car came slamming down and broke its engine somehow. I'm really hoping this is his career-ending moment where it's all downhill from here. Ferrari throwing away points trying to get fastest lap and failing was also hilarious. Not the best race of the year, but had a good start and a happy ending. Hambone fans are STILL seething and accusing Alonso of being responsible for the crash.

Max may tie that 13 race wins in a season after all. Granted it's more races but still cool

Edit: when's the last time someone won races back to back starting 10th or worse?

It was a decent race in the end.

I was sceptical of everyone saying Verstappen would easily win it before, but boy have i been proven wrong.

Looks pretty bad for Perez tho, he should have been the favourite to win it if Max's pace is what can be extracted from the RedBull.

Another one of Hamilton's 'Jesus take the wheel' moments, only this was one of those rare times where it doesn't work out in his favour, good hope this shatters his confidence so he finally finds it in his heart to retire.

Also kinda worrying that Leclerc couldn't even get the fastest lap with a light car, fresh softs and a tow at the end of the race - granted I didn't see his full lap because they switched to Verstappen crossing the finish line.

Did Alonso send one up the inside just out of spite or were they genuinely s that much slower?

Verstappen made the rest of the grid look like an iRacing lobby. Earlier this year he started at the back of the grid and passed 42 virtual GT3 cars at Spa.

There's another explanation and it's that Verstappen is a genuinely legendary driver at the top of his career in a car that suits him and a track he loves. He pulled off a similar dominant performance at Spa back in Formula 3 where he absolutely fucking shit on the rest of the field.

So I got F1 manager, it's fucking shit.

It's an inferior version of motorsport manager with the only improvement being the part manufacturing where you can choose the design direction which changes the stat increases.

>Lap 1 Ham self owns :gunt:
>Alonso radio gold :story:
>Ferrari being Ferrari again :stress:

The first part of the race was quite eventful and not commenting about it on the Farms sucks. Fucking troons.

Looking at the WDC standings right now two interesting points are brought to mind.
  • Perez is now 5 points ahead of Leclerc and it could be that it's a RB WDC 1-2 this year.
  • If Sainz' car didn't burn down in Austria he'd be tied with Leclerc right now if he took 3rd at that race, or ahead of Leclerc if he took 2nd.
Call me cocky but I'm gonna predict that Sainz ends up ahead of Leclerc by the end of the season. Again. Insert Rosberg meme here.

Hell, he's only ahead of Russell by 16 points and Hamilton by 40. There's a non-zero percent chance he ends up 6th in the championship if things continue as they have been.

Edit: Was feeling autistic, so I looked all of the F1 championship results since 1950 and who won the first race. 34/72 went on to win the title, with an average finish of 2.2. The worst finish was Clark in 1968, but for obvious reasons that doesn't count. The next worse was Andretti in 1971 with a finish of 8th, but he only entered 4/11 races, and only finished 3 of those. If Leclerc somehow gets 6th, it would be the worst finish for the winner of the first race since David Coulthard in 2003.

Thank you for putting my feeling about Leclerc into words. I've always felt something off about him until I realized he gives off Coulthard vibes. Fantastic on a good day, hyped up a lot on most days, ended up being edged out by his more consistent teammate, had the misfortune of being in the prime of his career when a legend was dominating everything. I hope I'm wrong about that feeling though.
