am not sure whether I will watch the race at Jeddah. If F1 isn't going to Russia then it definitely shouldn't be racing in Saudi Arabia either. I have/had friends in Yemen.
You could see Deminicali squirm like crazy when Brundel asked him about Saudi in the context of Russia being dropped in the interview.

All he could do was trot out the same crap about how they can bring these issues into focus and drive change.

Then Hill came up with some bollocks about how F1 view everything with a "western mindset" realised he was about to carry water for Saudi and went to the same crap about how going there will help to change things.

They should just admit that Saudi is bunging FOM silly money to look the other way while Putin won't hand over those fat stacks.

It was fuel pumps for the red Bulls.

So could definitely be E10 related since ethanol is hard on pumps.

On the plus side it isn't fundamental to the engine design so they should be able to get on top of it.

I only had the interview on as background noise, so I didn't fully catch Hill's statement, but when I realized that he's about to say something along the lines of "We can't really judge Arab shitholes with slavery and women being treated with less respect than camels based on our western morals" it made me turn my head.

So, fuel pumps on RB and something electric with AT (or did his engine stall due to lack of fuel and then caught fire cause it ran too hot)?

Anyway, fixing the fuel pumps is hopefully not as big of a problem as shitty aero and a less than competetive engine on Mercedes... or so I hope.

Luckily he heard himself mid speech too and quickly backtracked on it.

Yeah, that kind of statement is just complete moral relativism and shithole apologetism. If you're willing to let literal slavery and women being treated like possessions slip, you can bin that whole bullshit about we race as one and all that nonsensical feel-good-virtue-signalling.

They don't step on Uncle Sam's toes so they of course get a free pass to what they want. Step on those toes, they would have their governments replaced and culture destroyed in a month.

Not to be too much of a political sperg, but what's the difference between the middle eastern countries on the calendar, China, and Russia? Apart from the fact that Russia are involved in an in active invasion. I'm sure the Chinese and Arabs are performing similar heinous acts as well, just not so publicly.

Edit: Also I think that F2 cars actually sound better.

I like to stay away from all the sky sports virtue signaling during the pre and post race commentary. Tune in once the f1 intro and grid position starts, and tune out after the podium national anthems. That way I almost completely miss all the we race as one segments and discussing social issues outside of racing :)

As for Merc, it’s still really hard for me to imagine that they would trot out the mini side pod design and not actually have a way for it to work out. Unfortunately for the Merc haters out there , the 3-4 finish today was a much needed head start for when they’ll be playing catch-up during the end of the season. However, for every upgrade Merc brings, it’s likely that Ferrari and Red Bull will also be able to extract more out of their package. So the pecking order may stay the same as it was today, Ferrari, redbull pretty close, Merc distant third.

However, mercs problems may be due to having a shit engine this year after all. All the Merc customer teams are eating shit. Even crofty and the bois commented how all Merc customers were taking up the bottom 5, which out of 3 Mercedes’ customer teams is pretty terrible. Meanwhile, Ferrari seems to be the engine to beat, with apparently even a little more reliability than the RBPT.

Just imagine if Kimi had stayed one more year and were driving the new and improved Alfa Romeo and challenging the struggling mercs.

Russia is a geopolitical rival of USA that also happens to be full of white people, who have openly defied the new world order of Neo-Liberalism by invading countries without Uncle Sam's permission. They also were the rival superpower to hate in the anglosphere for the longest time.

China is a geopolitical rival that only messes with swarthy people nobody have heard of and effectively have the rest of the world by the balls because everyone's got factories in China and everyone wants to be in the Chinese market. It also is predominantly yellow people so it is not acceptable to critique a non-white person for some types.

Arabs can do what they want as long as they don't support anyone who fucks with Israel or USA, because they are brown and thus it is simply more acceptable for them to shoot the shit out of Yemen because nobody in the west cares about some dung nation in the Arabian peninsula as long as they don't fuck with the oil prices.

I'd be livid at everything if I were Mazespin.
Even if Mazespin was racing, he'd still be duking it out with Latifi for the wooden spoon.

I am absolutely stoked for Ferrari and Haas, and especially for K-Mag. Given all their off-track upheavals, performances like this would do wonders for Haas' morale rn.

WTF happened to RBR? Hopefully they can get their reliability issues sorted soon, otherwise they're going to have nearly as much of a bad time as Mercedes' customer teams probably will this season.

Meanwhile in the F1 Fantasy league...

I'm just disappointed that the team name has been truncated.

I was physically cringing when i saw how badly my fantasy teams did so I put together this new team, a total steal, with 12 mil to spare. Drivers: Leclerc (turbo driver), Sainz, Bottas, Magnussen, Verstappen. And Alfa Romeo for the constructor.

Pretty conflicted with wether I should have gone for Alfa or Haas for the constructor. And somehow, I was allowed to make leclerc the turbo driver which is basically free money. We'll see how this team does with zero points for this week, like red bull :P

Petter pick up Magnussen before he inflates to far bayond Mazepin's value last year.

So the fuel pump that knackered both Bulls is a common component.

It is also known to be fucked.

If it isn't getting right to the bottom I wonder if that red bull engine is a little thirstier than the ferrari, if they were running it harder so used more fuel or if they put less in thinking they would be fine to the end and save some weight.

The chance to inspect/replace explains the parc ferme changes @New Fag posted about following qualifying.

There's definitely something absolute shit house about a specified component in the pinnacle of motorsport being known to have big problems with the fuel specified in the rules and them just going well it'll be fine resulting in 2 retirements.

Gasly and Hulkenberg really pooped the goose for me this weekend, will Red Bull have their shit sorted out next week or should I be adding more Ferrari customer drivers?
i am not a lawyer but probably is a good idea to load up on ferrari constructor and customer team drivers especially because they're way cheaper than max/red bull. Considering right now any RBPT pick is higher risk and higher cost, there's not really any reason to pick them as things stand now.

On my ferrari hype train team I picked verstappen as the fifth guy after LEC SAI BOT MAG but if merc gets their shit together i might switch to lewis depending on the cost so i get at least some satisfaction out of mercs impending dominance

In all the turmoil of yesterday, I thought this one should not go by unmentioned.

Now, let's just hope Mick can pick up his speed and follow Magnussen to top 10 places.
