To be fair if the race ends like FP3 I would be ok with that. Though it seems my theory in regards to the Merc engine isn't that far of. We have 5 Ferrari powered cars in the FP3 Top 10 which is pretty good. Of course this is just free practice and not the real show but I hope it translates into good races from Ferrari

Keep in mind, these conditions are not the same as they will be in Q and race. It will be cooler. FP2 was the most representative session. Also, these were basically one or two hot laps, not a stint and certainly not race distance. Merc could do well in Q, but then be shit in a race stint.

That doesn't mean Merc wasn't sandbagging all this time or found a fix overnight, but still hoping that Q goes similar to what happened in FP2.

Perhaps Merc doesn't work so well under cooler conditions? Still very early days yet as to how the entire season will play out, but at least we aren't sitting here talking about Merc drivers and Ver finishing 1, 2 and 3. At least at this point. Maybe we will in 3 hours! LOLOL

Fuck off Lazenby that was not "the most controversial end to a season ever". 1989, 1994, 1996...

A perfectly legal call by the race director that results in us getting actual racing at the end was entirely fine.

So the Sky F1 take away is "hurr durr FIA report doesn't crown Lewis or say they broke the rules (when they didn't)".

If we're legislating everything after the fact then cancel Singapore 2008. Massa WDC, Hamilton only on 6.

I love how the sky commentators aren't even trying to pretend they don't want Mercedes to win.
Unless I can find an F1 stream with a commentary that's not in English, I don't think I'll be watching many F1 races this year. Murray Walker and James Hunt would be spinning in their graves if they could see the utter dogshit that Sky puts out.

Got him.

"We cancelled Russia due to Ukraine, that's great. What about Saudi Arabia announcing a mass execution."

"Oh erm muh human rights, sport can make change."

Then Hill's "oh we let Saudi off because well urm, western mindset err yeah." Dude just admit the king in bunging FOM a fuck ton of money whereas Putin won't give you shit.

Hamlewton's fanboys annoy the piss out of me with their incessant whining about how Masi's decision influenced the outcome of the race. Literally every fucking decision he took in every race affected the outcome of the race. That's the whole point of him doing his job.

Had he allowed to finish the race behind SC, it would have affected the result. There was no way he could do anything that would not have affected the result.

I know its still Q1, but what the fuck...
As someone who roots for AM
... I feel you bro.

God let this be the actual gap between Merc and the rest. I know I know used tyres but I wanna believe.

Disgusting. That's the only word that can describe this. Ferrari's engine is just disgustingly good, and Mercedes is just disgustingly bad. Poor Russell, he really is born under an unlucky star

Can't wait to hear the hambone radio bitching tomorrow when he actually has to race others wheel to wheel. "They went up the inside of me into the corner, that's really dangerous and the stewards have to give them a 5 hour penalty for it".

Magnussen drags a broken Haas, a fucking. Broken. Haas. To 7th.
What a monster.

And Haas' strategy totally paid off, it seems. Let's hope they will be able to keep that up during the race. I'm saddened that AM turned out to be a dud in Qualifying (though their racing speed might be better, that was their shtick last year as well).
Whatever happens, I can either cheer for Vettel or Schumacher, depending on what's going on when I am not busy biting my nails watching Leclerc, Sainz and Verstappen duking it out at the top or laughing my ass off at Mercedes fumbling.

Bottas starts next to Hamilton, maybe I do get my wish and Bottas passes Hamilton while giving him a one-finger-salute.

Oh my... no idea why this is being done, place your bets who is sus.
