has this thread addressed the people who think the moon is a hologram yet? there are people who record the moon with shitty cameras and report their findings to youtube

Watching this, I kinda thought the non-flatearthers were a bit silly too. Yeah, the flat earthers are exceptional individuals, and anyone with a functional brain stem at this point knows the Earth is a sphere, but the flat earthers are going to "take us back to the dark ages?" Lol I mean come on. These are the same kind of nutjobs which have existed since the beginning of human civilization. They're not going to just take over the world, or some shit. Most of these fuckers are just standard schizotypals, that formed a click because only people as nutty as them wanted to waste their time listening to them.

In that Flat Earth doco on Netflix there actually is a part where a guy addresses a group of fellow scientists and tells them ostracizing and insulting Flat Earthers is counter intuitive. He says the flat earth crowd are just scientists who lost their bearings and they should work with them because turning them into leper colonies is how you get this mobilized kind of movement in the first place.

I think people should just stop taking them so seriously. I think this is another case of the internet trolls having better common sense than a lot of people in the intellectual community. Though yeah, that guy is right. If you A-log them, it's just going to make it worse.
 
I love how they don't consider that if the earth is in-fact flat, why don't we see China's smog coming over to us?

Because the only way China's smog, while it does still affect us over here, does not just float over to us is because of the curvature of the Earth, without that there would be nothing keeping that huge clump of smog down and it would float into space. But even then according to these people you would not be able to see that with a telescope
 
I wish flat earthers would create a true and honest map of the world, since I've seen some of them on their forum claiming that the polar-projected maps aren't a true representation of geography. (They think that ancient maps are more accurate?? idk) Should be no issues with projection if the Earth is flat, right? But when it was brought up suddenly everyone had better things to do.

Even those people who don't believe in conspiracy theories have a hard time dealing with a sudden manifestation of illness. Many can't or won't understand genetic causes, medical staff has to explain over and over again, that no, it was not due to vaccines/curses/anything you've done or haven't done. At least the child is in the hospital, even though the parents are loonies.

Kinda late to comment on this, but I hate how so many kooks are into the electric universe theory. Some of their observations about the sun's coronal characteristics having similarity with plasma bulbs are very accurate, and the more sensible ones are tenured physicists who are working to test their theories with lab-grade plasma generation chambers, not homemade water-level devices.

Also they believe in spherical planets and stellar bodies, so IDK what the overlap is.

That's so boomer and gay I want it to be fake. HOWEVER, the description of the page is "All is Atum A+Om" which references the Egyptian god Atum being the superior deity of Creation (the alpha and omega, as they say). Egyptian revivalism, offshoot NoI KANG philosophy, and boomer esotericism all revere Egyptian mythology and I've seen ones in each category who are willing to believe in a flat earth. Having other esoteric elements besides flat earth makes it feel more real. So this is either fake, an aging Thelemite, or a black man.
