With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

In all honesty the show is not extreme enough. Its not mainstream so nothing average matters (this show is even below average for entertainment) and its not extreme enough to get enough internet pull for most neats to watch. This experimental TV is so obscure that if dont go beyond the extreme this show will die.. Lets be honest, Sam is nowhere near Kenny VS Spenny in terms of pull.

They will have to go above and beyond or they will not have a legacy at all. Sam, you will be childless, broke and your wikipedia page will read that you were a weirdo who did nothing to influence culture other than being a meme for mass shootings.

Do all fat or troon season or die unhappy.

Hard disagree about needing to be extreme or whatever. A good entertaining show is alot more then just extreme gross out humor. I think it's pretty obvious that Burt's schizo pshyosis was alot more entertaining then fatty getting sucked off by a vaccum.

Realistically you need a diverse yet stable cast with a few outliers to keep everything on pace and the audience on their toes always anticipating what’s to come. Trying to be extreme or have an entire season of fat people or bpd women sounds great on paper, but it would get old fast. These are ideas the wiggers come up with in their drug addled state. It’d be funny for a few hours, but it cannot be the sole focus of the show. A whole cast of Rachel’s or Alex B’s would make anyone blow their brains out.

This video was pretty funny and made me miss FT, especially during the abortion debate part that descended into chaos.
Also, Vance spotted in the audience for all of the people (me) who thought he wasn't in Extreme Peace at all.

That bit where Sam and Nick complain about their sandwiches while they have the women continue debating abortion was very Fishtank-esque.

this. there have been plenty of examples of fat retards, trannys, and freaks cohabitating whilst oversharing online and it always ends up being an incredibly banal descent into abject filth, rape, and horror.
these situations are death by a thousand cuts, not explosive fun content that a reality gameshow(even an extreme edgy one) would benefit from.

it's a gameshow, it's supposed to be fun - not some character study on how evil and raped fags and fats are. go make alt-right sundance festival if you want that shit.

Rachel is an excellent example of the type of person they should never cast ever again (except maybe as a late season freeloader), its not funny, just obnoxious and completely derails the season and production plans.
S2 and S4 both suffered because the fish weren't interesting enough by themselves (and they kicked both of the actually promising fish off S2, plus summer who probally was a lost cause but still funny). the difference between the seasons is that production at least put some effort in S2 but not enough, in S4 they completely abandoned the tank except for Rachel and the result was , unsurprisingly, completely unfunny shit.
Another type of person that they should avoid in the future are people that are pathetic in a cringe way as opposed to a funny way, like tayleigh, and jin, it just ruins the vibes for the audience and makes the show basically unwatchable if they kick all the funny fish and only keep them and the boring ones.
I will be a bit of a contrarian and say that i don't dislike fish like Mauro and the mexican guy from S3 because they produce the funniest memes by being "so bad its good" at playing a reality show, and its often a funny contrasct to see them living a completely normal life while everything comes crashing down around them. Basically anti-content is still content, just as anti-humor is still humor.

Rachel was good content, she never was going to run long term, but she was a great TTS punching bag, a neurotic mess for watching, and had crash outs. There was a good chunk of the season where she was the only thing going on, and that was kind of the problem. It was several days of pig slamming and no other content, which highlights a lot of the seasons other issues like the house being too small, and the cast being weak and undersized.

The time lapse of her packing and unpacking her shit is one of the key things I remember from the season.

maybe it would have been funny if production let her be instead of going there all the time to appease her, that completely put the focus away from the rest of the house and into her. Anyway that is a good argument for her to be a freeloader, not a fish.

I don't think you could get her to tolerate the abuse as a freeloader, and Ben's condescending ineffectual appeasement was probably one of the few entertaining things production did that season.
