It's finally been confirmed that the buy-in was not real. Now people can stop asking me about it. It's also been been confirmed that they're casting fans again, which IMO is a bad idea. Anyone who knows how the last two seasons ended is going to assume they're in for another premature end, which means they won't try hard to avoid being eliminated.

Where is the confirmation that S5 is currently casting, that it will be a fan season, and that the S4 cast won't be returning? The screenshot Aryeh posted makes it look like they aren't actually casting at the moment - is he just being a retard?

I'll be very happy, personally not to see the S4 cast again, but I find it alarming that they're doing another fan season (assuming Aryeh is correct).

So unless they randomly made that application form appear for certain users applications are still closed to the best of our knowledge. The form existing on the website is however pretty much confirmation that they're at least considering casting fans.


edit: there also seems to be an API endpoint for it but it doesn't show much. we can assume the questions being more or less the same as the other times anyways: https://api.fishtank.live/v1/applications

I took a look at the minified JS and the "Apply Now" button isn't shown anywhere because whether it renders is behind a boolean feature flag and that flag currently evaluates to false. The wigger developer basically just needs to set it to true and the link will appear somewhere. They are currently very likely just getting their ducks in a row and when everything is ready for receiving applications, they will turn the link on.

The absence of the sharks post season one really shows they don't fully get why S1 was lightning in a bottle. There are two sets of retards the audience wants to torture and production is too good for that now.
