With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

This adl video is a really poor viewing experience. This mac guy not only has a really bad mic but also obviously didn't listen back to it to equalize audio levels across all clips and interviews. He also has these bits where he applies a radio filter that sounds poor and will mercifully last for one sentence at most, but it offends my ears. I laughed out loud when one of the guys claimed he thought they couldn't stream on fishtank because jet thought they'd be more popular than season 3.

Even looking at the production values for Extreme Peace, I see the same level of half-assery that I'd expect from a novice. I'm just disappointed in the crew because some of their ideas can be really funny, but much like a group of high schoolers who are "totally going to start a band" not a one of them has any follow through to anything they want to do.

The wiggers have been eating Ls left and right, people just don't realize it. From my memory these things never amounted to much:

Mondo Megabits their NFT project became abandonware in the first year.

They have pushed food and supplements like the Zipp drink and a few other things, its gotten nowhere.

Extreme Peace was released 6 years too late, its unfunny, and no one is talking about it.

Every Season of Fish tank while a commercial success has been a failure from a production stand point.

I mostly agree.

Mondo is pretty funny. The premise of an NFT with real effort is just kind of stupid. At best it becomes a marketing gimmick but they also just did the work so its both misguided and a waste of time. Its a speculation market. Nothing is changed by increasing the value of the assets. They probably did earn enough from it though, its just a dumb approach.

Zipp is still going I think. Its odd but it is trying to be something outside of MDE.

I think whatever is happening with Extreme Peace is mostly ok. I think it is just not for me, but I prefer the Andrew Ruse episodes from World Peace.

It is really coming into focus for me just how long FT has been on borrowed time. It almost seems like even as they ran this for 2 years they have learned nothing. I hope I regret saying that when Season 5 comes on and is amazing but I won't hold my breath.

There are a lot of holes in the MDE ship but I think they like it that way too.

You say "It took Sam 10 years to come up with a follow up to World Peace" without any consideration for the fact the EP was 100% an independent production without any help from companies like Adult Swim, in fact Adult Swim actually tried to shut Extreme Peace down when it was still called World Peace 2. I'd love to see how fast you are at making 8-10 30 minute comedy sketch episodes that are funny and look good without the help of a studio.

Only seen a little bit of Extreme Peace but from what I saw I thought the construction worker sketch they did (Fix It! with Erick Hayden) was really funny. Never understood all the hate it's getting. It's good.

Zipp is entirely by Bicflame, who is doing a lot outside of MDE so its not surprising he's trying to make the drink a mainstay outside of the MDE sphere.

Agreed - I don't think it has to be 'ha ha funny' like most people ragging on it are saying, a lot of them are just shot well and are interesting ideas even if they don't always hit. Episode 3 was by far the best one so far.

The Zipp website still has a 2024 copyright and a grand opening aiming for April, yet nothing's been done with it and I don't think there was any of it on S4.

I can definitely see the joke. I think I have just spent too many days clinging to /ftl/ post-finale so that any reference to fishtank sexcapades is giving me an aneurysm. I make the same mistake every season.

On an unrelated note, as a huge lildarkie/godhandusa fan, this edit goes pretty hard.
 
The best revelation from this Rumble doc on ADL was that Jet actively tried to help the original showrunners with ADL and gave them genuine advice, and Jon still decided to fuck with Jet and defame him to get 15 minutes of e-clout.

There's screencapped posts on the Sam Hyde thread by some random troon barista in Boston that show he's pretty involved with his partner and kid (he's apparently is a regular customer there with his family). I think he just has a very thick and opaque wall between his personal life and professional life, and honestly, good on him for that. It shows that there's a core of normalcy under the public madman persona.

She's on a lot of KSTV2, albeit blurred out so she isn't doxed - he's been serious about her for years and has gone about it in the best way.
