With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

No fans that aren't already either here or /ftl/ will care. We have to remember the average Fishtank fan is Oddbod or Cryokeen. Fishtank will come back and they'll seal clap and spend 1,000$ sending flowers to jailbait (again). There will be zero retribution for any actions the wiggers did during the past 2~ years.

and i think it had a restriction where she probably had to go to a california school or something

so jets whole take was that college was a waste of time, even if free
which honestly is a pretty dumb take.
having a bachelors degree is worth something, even if its in something retarded.

additionally im sure college would have opportunities for her to do theater shit or whatever which is like adjacent to what she wants to do.
she said she wants to work on film sets or whatever. doing productions for theater is like the same thing.

I don't understand what production's motive was this season.

Why post up in the S1 house if they knew (they definitely knew) they were going to have to move the show to another location?

Why was the back up location not already prepped and ready for the show????

If the show was intended to be a giant fuck you/rug pull on the audience then why would they replace Jin with Seth? If it was just a cash grab and not a legitimate season then why bring on guests like Bam Margera or Ricky Berwick?

I don't expect much to happen. Wiggers got theirs and need to focus on retention but for now silence is better than anything else and when they announce the next thing people will clap and be excited for next thing. Sam has probably told them as much, Jet learned to feign humility after Season 1 but sometimes he can't help it.

The people giving hundreds or thousands of dollars to Fishtank each season are extremely attached to the show. If they're not pushed away then their default is to stay.

Jet literally doesn't understand this. He thinks, "Well things worked out for me due to my hard work." Jet is probably in denial that his entire life basically relies entirely on Sam's success and if Jet had to strike it on his own he'd be worse off than most.

The plan before any of the legal stuff started was to film in the S1 house, in fact thats WHY they got the C&D because the neighbors probably complained when they started showing up to wire the house up. The second house wasnt set up because I think they got kicked out quicker than they thought they would or possibly just because they werent going to be in the basement long to begin with (unsure on this). I also think getting kicked out of the second house caught them by surprised. Thats why they took so long between going dark and announcing it was over, because they were wondering if it would be worth it to try and film from S3 house and they just said "Ah frick it".

Kicking Jin was literally just because Jet didnt like him, there wasnt a lot of thought behind it, Jet just found him annoying.

As to the guests, a cashgrab still has to be entertaining. It wouldn't work if nobody was interested and wasn't tuning in.

What's worse is Jet doesnt understand it because he's bought fully into Sam's whole Doomer outlook on life and that theres nothing worth doing because AI/The browns or whatever is going to take it all over anyways.

I think the main issue he has is that they were inconsistent about their reasons for telling him to pack it up and generally unprofessional, sending a goon to tell him instead of doing it themselves. But I don't know what he expected, I guess he felt like he was "in" with them.
