Who wins is the least important thing about fishtank. Watch big brother. The FT “game” is arbitrary and irrelevant on purpose. It’s live action kiwi farms with slightly more poop touching in the form of TTS. The only point is to laugh at retards. That’s it.
I genuinely hate people who don’t understand this.
I would believe this had season 1 not set a different precedent. Season 1 was a cast of retards no doubt, but part of the show was about if they could overcome their own personal issues and come out at the end of the show a winner and possibly a different and stronger person than they were when they entered the tank. This was very evident in Letty who had serious depression issues stemming from an abusive relationship causing her to be a shut in neet, now you can argue about if letty is a "better" person after Fishtank, but what can't be argued is that she's no longer a shut in, looks much healthier than she did before, has made a name for herself, and has overcome her personal issues stemming from her past relationship.
This is a theme that carried into season 2, and season 3. Alex B was a massive retard that was really fun to piss off and make fun of but I would be lying if said I don't feel bad for the guy at least a little bit. I genuinely wanted to see him cut ties with his abusive hog and maybe drop some of the mental barriers that he had put up throughout the whole show to protect himself. Alex B wasn't capable of this and so he quit in a very funny and retarded fashion so it all worked out in the end.
Part of what made the season 3 ending so beautiful wasn't just that it was hilarious (it was extremely funny), but also because after Burt had watched the whole cast get dropped off for the final time and he was left alone by himself for the first time in at least a week, he was able to reflect on his experience in the Fishtank. And what he reflected on is how much of a fuck up, gullible, gross, sex pest he acted throughout the show and how much he regrets it and wants to improve himself after he got out of the tank. Only then did the RV go off road causing the walls around Burt to literally crumble, revealing an open desert, the most open place ever seen in Fishtank. That's fucking art.
The point is that the show is about laughing at retards but it's also a sort of boot camp for retards too, It's not just about torturing them as much as it's about trying to help them be stronger people. This can become a problem depending on the cast though, as season 2 they had to really force a fake redemption arc for TJ that was really hollow. But to just have a show that's about torturing retards and making their lives worse, would be way too nihilistic and aimless. There wouldn't be any real point in watching the show consistently because it would just be soulless.
