Literally every single problem with Fishtank can be traced back to Sam, Jet, and the wiggers being some mixture of shady/arrogant/lazy. I know its been talked about 1000 times at this point but not paying Burt left a really bad taste in my mouth and now this stuff about them leaving people hanging when it comes to work makes them look even worse. These fags need to realize they're NOT too big to fail and they'll end up like those former Jackass guys who work minimum wage jobs eventually if they don't get their shit in order.

Only thing Jon got wrong was letting Sam off the hook. He's just as deep in the weeds with this shit as the rest of them are and he's literally admitted on screen that he lets Jet and Vance take the fall for she he did all time because they don't care.

Gambling away Burt's prize money was actually a good precedent to set when he spent the entire show saying he would split money with the other contestants. Colluding and metagaming is terrible for the show and the viewers and not rewarding it was the right decision.

I don't give a shit what he was going to do with the money, he won the show, he can do whatever he wanted with it. The whole thing is fake and rigged anyways, so if they didn't want to pay him because he was going to waste it they should have had Binx or Payton win.

It is such a non-issue in every way.

It's not about picking the person who would use the money the best.

He was literally saying it ON THE SHOW to gain favor and influence other fish. It would be one thing if he said nothing and waited until after the season ended to split with everyone, but he didn't do that. There is a huge difference.

I don't get why they didn't do that, I figured they'd choose Binx to fuck with the viewers. If people have a good read on Burt and how he was acting packing up, it could've also resulted in a pretty big meltdown, which is always content for them.

This wasn't a problem in the past when
>Josie, Vance, and Letty split The Cell prize
>Shinji and Trish split money in a challenge
>TJ paid Fatty to help him in the finals of S2
>Letty split The Cell prize with Creature in 2.5
The only reason it was an issue with season 3 was because they knew they could get away with not giving Burt the money because he's retarded. If they tried that on literally anyone else in season 3 they would have got the shit sued out of them.

I think a winner is largely a result of circumstance. With how messy S3 got. Payton is out because they went to Vegas. They went to Vegas because of Burt's prize from the dance competition.
You can maybe say Binx is a viable candidate to Burt but Binx was really only good in social manipulation and benefitted the most from large group dynamics she could exploit. Alone she just devolved into pandering. So it is my feeling that Binx is just an unsatisfying winner and not only because Burt was more entertaining but because he was also a crowd-pleasing pick for a winner, lessening potential audience sperging about winners.

In Season 2 it was oddly fair. But I am convicted that Josie won because they had the Wonka Idea and Letty doesn't fit that ending.

There is a huge difference between splitting the prize for one singular challenge versus potentially compromising the winner of entire show, especially when contestants voting each other out was on the cards for most of the season.

Also this Reddit tier "lawsuit" angle is hilarious. Their contract stipulates that they are not entitled to any prize money, this is well known.

Jet would rather use fake AI avatars of the fish instead of using the REAL PEOPLE to stream on their site and support their careers, this is some silicon valley AI gay guy shit he shpuld use his platform to support the talent that made millions of dollars for him.

This is exactly how he sees the fish and freeloaders and contestant — lifeless pawns he can control and make a quick, cheap buck off of instead of actually supporting their careers. He doesn’t give a damn about the people who built his platform. And he obviously doesn't give a damn about the fans either if hes showing you this shit content instead of working with us to make real stuff the people want to see, he just uses the fans as paypigs to fund his Balenciaga shoe collection

Damn. I guess 40boys x Fishtank is a no-go.

Burt doesn't need the money he's a real estate guru and also a high class gay hooker.

Watching the newest season 2 edit that came out and it includes close up HD footage of the hot dog challenge and it's fucking revolting.

Season 1, 2 and Bitchtank were fully rigged from end to end. The only thing real in those seasons were the physical based challenges like the triathlon in S2.
I don't disagree about rigging in general, but for season 2 all I really meant was that in the final final challenge, Shinji fighting TJ production would honor with whoever actually won. Shinji being sick is another point though, I would not consider that a kind of rigging.
Season 1 mud-wrestling was obviously rigged and a lot of the challenge gauntlet was rigged too even if there were genuine challenges mixed in.
I haven't seen enough of Bitchtank to say.

Season 2 episode 05 - initiative group notes

  • There are many technical issues in this episode. Several shots generally during the interview segments are out of focus which is distracting. The interview with Shinji below is completely out of focus like no one even checked before rolling lol. The low lighting in the house causes much of the footage to appear grainy and low quality. Here are some examples of what I've just described. Several times during the WWE challenge they have to cut to vertically shot Iphone footage because the main camera manned by Vance was out of focus. There's also a minor continunity error thing where Brian just shows up with a yamaka on but it's honestly pretty funny so not a big deal.
  • Jimmy has not one but two full on meltdowns within the first 25 minutes of the episode. Great stuff. Also has an incredibly embarassing scene of him crying like a child at the bar pretending he's sorry for lunging at Taylor.

(Notice the graininess on Jet's shirt)
  • The close up high definition footage of the hot dog challenge is some of the most disgusting shit I've ever seen. I can't even imagine the smell during that. You have to imagine that shit stayed around too the stench of stomach bile and processed hog meat.
  • The wrestling WWE promo challenge is really funny, Tay knocks it out of the park with hers. Shinji's is also hilarious. TJ does very well too. Brian's is okay but try hard.
  • Screenshot 2025-01-30 184528.png
  • There are several "Umm did you know Brian is an actor?" type gaslights that completely fail because the cast already watched the first season and know Sam does nothing but gaslight. Pretty lame.
  • Dumbgay gets a pretty good introduction but not much screentime.
  • The title of the episode refers to an abandoned subplot about the "initiative group" which was supposed to be a 70s cult type deal but they scrapped it it so there are parts near the end where Sam is talking about it that are just kind of meaningless. If I was someone who wasn't familiar with the show and saw this I would get hyped for a plot that just ends up being dropped which would be shitty. Screenshot 2025-01-30 185454.png
  • Scott Sullivan gets basically no screentime and is only really in the background doing his boring karate shit which is great.
Pretty good overall. Despite my criticism I laughed a bunch and enjoyed it.
