With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

  • 2 Stars — Pretty bad. Some funny moments, dragged, too many vibe repair days. Barely worth checking.

    Votes: 91 11.7%
  • 3 Stars — Average. Solid entertainment in spots, some good chaos and crashouts, but nothing special

    Votes: 177 22.7%
  • 4 Stars — Really good. Lots of hilarious moments, strong fish personalities, solid content and vibes

    Votes: 407 52.2%
  • 5 Stars — Peak Fishtank / Masterpiece. Non-stop insanity, legendary fish and production, pure chaos

It's quite surprising as I've never seen anything so blatantly shoddy in MDE's stuff (at least in terms of visual appeal, some of Sam's screw the audience stuff is bad, but not the same kind of cringe this induces).

But yeah I do feel a few brain cells dying each time I see those animated intros.
Sam's output the last decade outside of WP has been pretty shoddy,

These animated intros have always been so fucking bad. I like fishtank and they just don't fit at all like I get second hand embarrassment just watching them. It's like some teenage anime nerd's first or second attempt at drawing and animation and the music is just as bad.
I don’t mind them so much, not sure what would be a better alternative

The Fishtank account has deleted a recent tweet teasing a new episode for next week so I'm not getting my hopes up, that they're getting their shit together again.
"for next week's episode, season pass holders will get it much earlier."

Found possible deets
35 year old in January 2022 = 38-39 in 2025. Also, notice how he bragged about being a retired millionaire. Who would've been surprised the biggest Fishtank paypig is a millionaire?

Haha, you went hard on him. Guess that statement is all I was curious of... just a neet with too much money and unrelated to production.
When looking to see if someone shared the new episode early I found that someone posted an allged screencap of a discord appearance of his to 4chan:

going by chat logs and some of the avatars it's from yesterday in the FagC discord.

New animated intro for S2.

Why is the theme song slightly different? It's like they changed the key for some reason. I also wanna know why they waited till episode 4 to have this intro. It's interesting they showed Broken Trish and Joker Jimmy, kinda giving away future storylines.
Something about this intro feels very wrong, and I can't explain what it is. It feels almost like both the artstyle and the smoothness of the animation change with each person. For the artstyle, you can even compare Brian to Trish, Brian almost looks like some teenager's Boondocks OC. The bits they added to the S1 theme do also feel straight out of Suno. It is kind of funny to only have Meg for maybe half a second, solid equivalent of how much she added to Fishtank itself.

Watching the episode 4 edit right now and I had completely forgotten about Jimmy's incredibly embarrassing manchild meltdown during the zip tie challenge thing. Screaming at Megan and chimping out like a toddler at age 27. This guy is like 5 IQ points above living in a group home.

Great episode.
Cole is so fucking funny. I miss him bros, I wish he hadn't DFE and still did the occasional stream. Based on the episode, it still seems like he was kicked, imo. If that wasn't the case, I feel like they'd have put some basement scene that proved otherwise.
Even thought Cole was the "content king" of these first 11 days, it's funny to see how he made no connection to the rest of the cast outside of JC, no one care that he left. His autism was too strong.

The opening has worse artstyle and animation than the first one, and the last shot is a bit too gross. But I enjoy these, and I hope they keep making them for future seasons.

Jesus Christ, Jimmy is on the level of Alex in terms of acting like a complete baby when he doesn't get his way.

He felt embarrassed by Nifty (rejecting him), Taylor (making fun of him), and Abi (making fun of him)-so much so that he couldn't even deal with being around Abi and Nifty

His strategy of calling Nifty and TJ pedos is just his strategy for covering up his own sexual degeneracy (remember the cum stain after hiding in the goon cave). Watching him be all over Nifty and not leaving after she told him to get out of the bed was extremely suspect. I think Sam having a talking to with Jimmy about him being sexually inappropriate is one Jimmy has had a number of times, and further just added to his public embarrassment, making him have an even shorter fuse. I find it extremely easy to see him sexually assaulting Shadi. If the cameras weren't on and Ben didn't pull him out of the room, Jimmy would've continued his sex pest activities.

Like Alex, Jimmy cannot stand being the butt of a joke. As true as all this is, I know Jimmy most likely was raped in Utah and wasn't lying about that. Still it's pathetic to see someone not be able to overcome their abuse. Makes sense he's working a shit job after having a pretty solid opportunity to make connections as a creative with FT.

Am I the only person here who doesn't believe the Jimmy Mormon camp shit at all? Jimmy is a proven liar and extremely delusional. He has a victim/persecution complex. Him making up shit for sympathy or taking a mildly bad experience then twisting it into some horrific nightmare story in his warped mind is far more realistic then him being tortured for months on end. This is the same guy who was shown footage to his face of him attacking a woman and then denied it happened. He is delusional. Not a normal person.

Idk his sister confirmed it, and his reactions would lineup with that kind of sexual abuse. I believe it, but I also don't believe he had it the worst, and his need for attention drives him to make up more details.

I think it's likely he went to a camp in Utah and it was bad but that he took it and made it 100 times worse then it was yeah.
