With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

It's too late to fix anything. The main takeaway from S2 is that the problem is in the basement and the more they interfere, the worse off the show is. However, it can't be helped, the show is about them after all.

This is what really bugs me. There were times early on with Brian especially where he took a conformational tone with Jet or someone and you could tell it was hurting his chances of winning.

In an ideal production, Jet and the guys are just lion tamers. Lion tamers don't take it personal that the lion's pissed off. Just parade the lion out, feed the lion. Show off how it can jump through a hoop or bite or something. With a show like fishtank, maybe piss the lion off a little to get it going but keep the situation safe. But it's all for the show don't freak out, the lion's the star, it being scary, loud, and hard to control, is what makes it fun to watch.

If they can't handle lions and get freaked out at the stress of handling lions - which has happened to some degree constantly - then they end up with a cast of housecats by the end. And they act like the audience will empathize with them wanting to run out all the lions because they think we think the show is about them.

It's impossible to maintain a character for 42 days straight 24 hours a day. Sam couldn't manage to maintain his character for more than a paragraph or two before reverting to normal, expecting a cast of ten 20 somethings to manage something that difficult for 42 days is crazy. Even people who are good at character acting like Bliccy repeatedly dropped character on camera for extended periods of time.

I had the exact same issue with season 2 as you. I had invested so much time watching it that I felt the need to keep tunning in to see how it ended but I also really didn't give a shit about the fish left and it almost felt like a chore to me to continue watching. Everyone just seemed so sick of being in the tank. Just tired and miserable. Near the end I just wanted it to be over. There was a bit of that "when is this going to end" feeling during the cell 2 challenge in season 1 during the finale but that lasted just 2-3 days and wasn't nearly as boring.

The best part about the S2 finale was making fun of cuddle tank and calling Jet a retard in the Kiwi Farms fishtank chat.

Classes revealed on the website, revealing that Jimmy is the healer class contestant. Tay likely to be chudette and Letty the piss witch? No clue on who the sniper may be.

Sniper would make sense for Vance. I don't know why but it does. Based on Jet's comissions for artwork on twitter by that guy Epsi, it should be him. But like someone said above, Vance has a show set for the day bloodgames start so who knows. I could easily see him planning that date when bloodgames was supposed to start June 1st and then Jet & crew allowing him to come late to the show because of it. Or this is all an epic gaslight.

The 2 other options could be Cole or Brian who was dressed in a ghuille suit during the finale
 
Some genius on twitter pointed out that the cams seem to be in alphabetical order if you assume that witch = letty and chudette = tayleigh. Vance makes sense as the last person alphabetically (Cole and Brian would mess up this pattern) and Jet also requested one of these pics for Vance. Note that the pics are not on the site and the guy who made them just drew the 3 confirmed contestants and then Jet requested art for Jimmy, Letty, and Vance on twitter.
