With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

Tyson aka Lance unlisted this stream "for editing and HD processing." I've not gone through it but it's on my radar because some of the usual Josie bunch were in the chat. Leesa (https://twitter.com/LeesaIllinois), who used to moderate Alex Stein's streams, is there. For those deeper down the Fishtank rabbit hole, Cryokeen (https://twitter.com/cryo2052) is the star of the show. The Josie ones are there for the girl in the top right, Emilie (https://twitter.com/hoppyfroggys), who keeps checking her phone.

I hope he switches things up, because "trying to game the system the same way everyone else is" isn't really a way to do well in any way other than the algorithm spinning its wheel on you. If something already has grifters making videos a'la "MAKE A BILLION DOLLARS A DAY WITH THIS ONE SIMPLE THING!!!" on it, it's very likely far too late to jump on its bandwagon by then.

The lack of communication and transparency is really tiring. Instead of communicating with the fans on when to expect stuff people have to wait for one of the devs to randomly announce shit.

What's fucking gay is the Sam Hyde voice is locked behind level 200. We now potentially have a season where paying customers can't even use the shit they're paying for.

The problem is that they don't plan shit. They had plenty of time between season 1 and 2, only to do everything last-minute. No challenges were planned out because of muh organic content and that turned out amazing! Additionally they didn't bother casting contestants in advance, leading to them having to cast mainly fans who were aware of what the show was (Which they didn't adapt the show for) and Sam hates his fans so that didn't help.

An actual live stream demo before the show starts? Perhaps to avoid the constant camera shut downs that have plagued the first few days of each season so far? Season 2.5 is already getting way too experimental.

I think they have too many pots on the stove, they have so many different projects running concurrently. I can believe Jet honestly didn't have time to plan for anything, and he's also shit at running the show.

So far they currently have:
Fishtank
PGL
Untitled SciFi game
Standup Tour
Sam and Nick's Streams
World Peace 2

There is probably more that I can't remember, but that is a shitload of work.

I don't blame Sam at all for hating a big portion of his fanbase. He specifically has the most insufferable fans. Nick and Charls have way more chill and laid back fanbases then Sam who gets those retarded "Hey Sam I'm a 23 year old with 100k in savings from my plumbing company is my life over???" questions where you see the average IQ of a Sam fan is like in the mid 80s.
