Sam's already mentioned multiple times during S2 that he doesn't like the cash challenges, and that they make the contestants not care as much. Odds are they'll probably just use chips or some shit like that. Whether that's an excuse to pay people less probably remains to be seen.
There was something tactile about, for example, when Jimmy won the right to go outside for a bit. Watching him dress up and leave through the basement, then come back in and talk about the sky being green and seeing police was neat. And the time the reward was to make the winners sleep in a "winner's room" was neat because it messed with the dynamic for a little bit. And a punishment like Oliver having to clean the nest they made for Chris was neat.

Conversely, a reward like steak, which involves just eating, or a punishment like being stuck in the doghouse is not interesting to watch. Duany'ay was the only one who made Shut Up Bag interesting to watch because he would switch to using flamboyant hand gestures to get his point across. Otherwise it would only be good in really specific instances, like the time Abi was whining and Vance came up and put a shut up bag on her then TJ came up and started trying to comfort her and they shut up bagged him and then Duany'ay came upstairs and the three of them in the same shot looked like an A24 movie.

I'm gonna sound very nerdy making this comparison but in video games, especially MMOs, there has been a move away from stunlocking/movement impairing abilities because by design they aren't fun. I think the same is just generally true for Fishtank.

Most rewards should be something like, you and your team get wine and grapes and the other team can't enter the winner's room for a while, or you get to play on a slip n' slide or play on a pool table for the evening. And punishments need favor cleaning, or cooking for the other fish, or assembling furniture for the basement, and not just sitting quiet and perfectly still for hours.

During season 1 one of the lies he told was that he had multiple children with different women, although now there's an actual possibility since Summer's claiming they banged
Summer saying they hooked up and Jon saying they hooked up yet somehow they're probably both lying.

They're both compulsive liars and dangerously retarded in their own special way so there's really know way of knowing for sure.

Although this would give a whole new meaning to "Summer child."

Forgive me if this has been posted already. Summer went on /bant/ and claimed she and Jon had a "consenual-nonconesent" relationship and anal sex. She posted timestamps. For context, "Zain" is one of Meg's friends/orbiters. He and Meg were tripfagging on /bant/ complaining about Summer in the same thread which prompted Summer to pop in.

Wasn't Jon Adamant about saving himself for marriage? lol

I wonder how much of the profit from the show comes from actually flipping the house. If it isn't substantial the show might benefit from the house actually just being a well built set inside a warehouse. Don't have to deal with neighbors/cops as much. You can do shit you couldn't in a residential neighborhood. Also gives the crew more control over how the house is actually structured, giving them more ability to build shit like secret rooms, tunnels, etc.

Also for food a neat gimmick might be giving each of the contestants a few packets of seeds and some potting soil. Each successfully sprouted seed represents one actually decent meal. Provides something for the fish to care about, a way to fuck with the other fish, and maybe teaches them some basic gardening skills.
