With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

With Jimmy particularly his disorder is definitely that he cannot calm down easily, so I understand why step 5 was hard for the basement to balance. That being said they kept advancing on him each time there was a moment for him to calm down.

After he snapped on Taylor they made an entire SFX making fun of him in particular.
After the Super Pizza thing Jimmy was sick from the peppers and Jet made him get up, then they let through some TTS doxing Hoarderman and then Jet called Jimmy insane when he Jimmy blamed him for letting it through, and Jimmy proceeded to worry and hide for the next five hours until Jet deigned to come upstairs and apologize.
And of course on the day of the mallet Jet specifically came upstairs when Jimmy said he was calming down and told him to come downstairs.

It is still completely down to Jimmy not being a retard and throwing a mallet but they failed to do step five over and over and even despite his disorders even a normal brained dude would probably have wanted to walk. Not thrown a mallet, but I can see Vance in particular walking after that kind of thing doxing Linnea in particular. Her name is visible on that sticky note of blocked TTS words everyone shares that has Marky, Cole, and Summer on it.

Sam referenced Jimmy multiple times to other contestants in the attic saying first that targeting Jimmy would be premature (this was before NYE) and later saying to just wait because Jimmy will inevitably snap. He clearly knew how much was resting on Jimmy and when he warned Jet not to take his eyes off Jimmy he knew what was up. Like or hate Jimmy all the competitive tension came crashing down once he was gone.

Summing up the production talk on how they didn't do a good job managing the contestants: Production decided to be bullies first and showrunners second.

Tayleigh has been playing GTA, she's gotten a lot better at talking while playing now compared to how she was at the start.

Jimmy took shrooms while he's streaming because it was a donation goal (an expensive one, Aperture has been coming through and whaling like he did in the tank). He was mostly normal but occasionally stopped midsentence and hung there like he was unplugged.

Brian was there for a minute but interestingly Taylor has been in the chat the whole time - Jimmy mentioned at one point he was glad to show Taylor him chilling out and working on a collage because shouting and being angry isn't the impression he wants her to have of him.

Tayleigh peeked in on his stream periodically and eventually called him because she opened the stream and he was hunched over his collage weirdly and she thought something was wrong. They had a relatively normal conversation (by that I mean Jimmy wasn't fucked up on shrooms, not that Jimmy is normal) and then when Jimmy said he had to get off the phone he said "good night sweet dreams no homo" and Tayleigh got all embarrassed, and Jimmy's girlfriend called. He had to hurriedly explain that he was talking to Tayleigh and that he isn't fucked up on stream.

Jimmy called Tayleigh back when he was ending his stream so she could end hers with him on the line because she got into the song he plays when he ends his streams last time she watched him and yeah......
I think Tayleigh knows better, but she's the one who keeps peeking into his streams now and the one sitting around watching him for hours. This time Jimmy was not the one reciprocating the streamception teehee let me see what you're doing on your stream teehee thing, that was all in Tayleighs' court opening his stream over and over while she was live.

I don't wanna play the MUAH MUAH MUAH NOW KISS game but c'mon now.

Trishles stream today was something. Started with a P.O. Box opening in which “Bad Ideas” sent her a ring & BDSM equipment. Other package was the Scott mma shirt arriving. Honestly gaming with the Melchors tonight was pretty ass ngl. The other siblings seemed tired & uninterested but still play outlast & Fortnite with Trish. Trish herself carried tonight. The meat & potatoes was reacting to herself on Alex stein then to Brian talking about her on Alex stein. (Not that we didn’t 100% already know) but two things seemed to have come out about the bathroom bonk rodeo on new years: Trish confirmed she actually had no issue with the bonking itself. Only issue seemed to be that she got all the flack for it & not Brian/ the woman always all the shit in these scenarios (I would counter by saying Brian wasn’t in the competition long enough to receive the same schtick plus Dumbgay literally roasted him numerous times while attacking Trish after Brian left). Mama Melchor made her debut (voice only). Trish being Trish decided to show M.M her new sex toys from Bad Ideas. Mama Melchor proceed to call Trish a hoe (lmao). She also wanted the bdsm whip for some reason. We nearly got a Myco (Brother Melchor) reveal but he said no. We got to see his dogs tho. Stream ended with Trish showing off her Filipino fried pork blood with rice (Dinhuan or something). Looked like a plate of fecal matter. Finally next week Trish is going to vegas and apparently mama & papa Melchor are making their onscreen debuts at some point. Thats everything (unless as always i missed something in which feel free to correct me)

I initially thought Tay just loved being Jimmy tard wrangler, and she also wanted to make the weird simps like Qanon and Bad Ideas go away with Jimmy around, but after seeing them tonight, there is definitely something going on between these two. I personally think they will be cute together, but considering Tay's previous abusive ex and Jimmy's temper around women, I don't think that's going to end well.
 
small update regarding trishes stream yesterday i forgot to mention: apparently the fish now have their own discord group together & apparently they plan on streaming together at some point

I think it could go ok. When I think of times he blew up in the tank it was often well after he had already tried to negotiate a means to walk away from the situation and been told no. In real life, "can you give me a fucking minute" is usually not something that triggers everyone around you to go "now's our chance to pile on"

The main thing is I think both of them are up to their ears in free time whereas this Hexbb/Sammy character is miles away and has the money to fly to Vermont on her own dime so she probably has more of a life than Jimmy does. Idle hands, etc.
The streamception in one thing but never in this season or last season has a fish sat through five hours of another fish's stream, like Tay did, and especially not one where it was mostly just a hangout.

The twist here is Jimmy's got his code of honor, so to speak, he keeps talking about Sammy like she's an obligation or that he's duty bound to be a good boyfriend because she likes him so much. When he was drunk the other day he said it pretty clearly, that he never thought Tay was interested, and if Tay were interested, he couldn't reciprocate because Sammy got there first.

I think Sammy will overstep, Jimmy will break it off, and then there'll be little dark haired babies that listen to Alabama Nigger instead of rock a bye baby.

Oh fuck I actually had one of these when I was a teen. It was fun to use until it broke. It really does give her a different video look compared to the rest of YouTube.
 
It pisses me off Letty got driven offline because a segment of weirdos couldn't get over her role as the villain of season 1. She was a good streamer and one of the few fish who are genuinely funny on twitter.

She's mostly offline yes, but I think it's more her wanting to keep a low profile than her haters' doing.

Streaming is something that she did more for her fans than herself, and it did take a toll (streaming while wasted in the early morning comes to mind).
I agree that she's a good streamer, she has the personality and disinhibition, but ultimately it's probably best for her not to commit if it's not a healthy habit.

That being said, it's not OOC for her to just stream someday unexpectedly. Just two days ago she went live for the first time in months on Instagram, talking to chat while on her way home. No VOD as far as I know.
 

Just had a big "ohhhhh" moment.
So Brian in particular definitely said something about being told that if it came to light that he was a fan of S1 then he'd be sent home. And I think Tayleigh also said that.

According to Jimmy in this, Tayleigh and Jimmy both applied the same day coincidentally (Sept 11) but somehow Jimmy says he wasn't directly warned to keep being a fan a secret. He was keeping it a secret on his application because he assumed the wiggers would not accept him if they knew. Whereas Tayleigh hung her crochet swastika in the background of her interview and was warned.

I don't know why they wouldn't have called Jimmy out as a fan before the show. I find it hard to believe he sent in an application where it wasn't immediately obvious that he's in on it. But considering Jet only described him as Dwight Schrute and that he works in a paper mill and not, you know, how fucking weird he is, I think they didn't exactly screen him hard.

So it makes more sense that Jimmy was the one to start trying to break the lid off the fan thing, because he was the only fan who wasn't warned directly not to do that because somehow they didn't know he was one, and was not told there would be consequences for revealing it.

So Jet got fooled by a retard and Sam is mad that Jimmy broke the game of pretend that he wasn't in on.

Either that or as Jimmy said, Josie was the one to drive him in in Chris Lynch's car, so maybe they did know but Josie just fucked up and couldn't get a word in edgewise during the trip.
