During fishtank: he was an underdog, and he had some decent moments where he seemed to be rising above it all.

They really hyped him up and tried to make him look like a decent guy.

i think the s2 fish are far better then the s1 cast outside of Letty and Jon(the fish).
s2 started off too fast and hard, we had meg shitting in a cup on day 3... sam said something to letty at the end of s1 about saving something for the end(i forget exactly the quote) but i think it rings true here.
i think s1 had so many more memorable moments though, (simmons,jon head kicks,mustard face,baby shaking,hastle/hooker night, fatty falling, vance vs chair vs josie) i dont remember anything from s2 that was close to those moments.
but what s2 had going for it was the camera angles, and the cast.

The lack of long form challenges and the darker and more violent tone kinda ruin a lot of the memorability of the season. The way the fish would screw with each other during The Cell by waking each other up or the furniture challenge show that they were quite willing to scheme, plot and fuck with each other just like the S1 cast, its just they never had a structure to pull it off on since everything ended within an hour or two of being issued.

To some extent an early S2 'good' moment was Jimmy's exposure of JC as the Chinese spy and ensuing meltdowns, Cole's detective arc coming to a head as he realized JC betrayed him, then the Gator Squats (which were rigged, anybody who watched it knew Brian lost early on) finale. It all felt like several story threads coming together.

I'm not sure about that. I think much like in the finale they wanted a visually obvious failure, and were waiting for someone to collapse. I don't think they wanted Cole to lose, which would have been the purpose of rigging it against him.

Again although I've definitely been through this topic in this thread before I'm still taken aback at how stupid the gator squats was for their long term. They complained about losing their cast too fast but the very day they lost Summer they decided to run a second elim with the audience deciding who would go. This after Jet said in the behind the scenes video that week one would be "peaceful."

To catastrophize: the poll very nearly put Jimmy up against Cole. Let's say Jimmy had to do it and lost. JC doesn't interfere because Cole easily wins but she leaves anyway a few days later because she's not into the show. Cole also still leaves. You're down to Brian, TJ, Shinji, Tayleigh, and Trish starting on day 7 when Meg goes off her meds.

I don't trust production to pick winners but I definitely don't trust the audience enough to hand them a gun and let them point it at the whole cast.

You just reminded me of my favorite part of probably the whole show and it was when I started paying attention to Duanye.

Fuck Frank, Duanye was being obnoxious and passing out in the most obnoxious places, crawling around on his belly all over everybodys shit, laying on them, covered in sweat and just screaming in this stereotype voice shit like "awh lawad!!! these white people be crazy! mama help me! they makin me do da devahls wayrk!' and shit like that.

I dont even remember what else was going on because he was even making Sam Hyde crack up. It took him like an hour to slink down and crawl from the couch where he was passed out, through the living room where they were, to the stairs to go to the bathroom and then like another 30 minutes of him slumped over across the stairs, looking dead and there were all these photos of him like taking up so much space slumped agains the wall in the hallway with his head aside and legs out so people cant get by.

Betty did a stream yesterday where she talked first about Shinji, she says she would have warned him not to literally stream porn but she thought he was joking and thought his irls would stop him.

She brings up Abi next and says "with Abi, i just don't know, I have no idea what's real or what's fake."
Apparently Abi either blocked Betty before or immediately after leaving the tank, then unblocked her.
When Betty tried to raid her, she said she didn't know who Betty is. Then Abi messaged her privately and said thank you for the raid. But then after Betty got banned on Twitter Abi said she was so glad Betty was banned because she was scared when Betty followed her.
Betty ends the explanation with "What the- who are you?! Who are you?! Which Abi am I talking to right now?"

She says she relates to Jimmy because "what you see is what you get" with him, and then starts going conspiracymode on the footage of Jimmy throwing the hammer. It's mostly stuff you've heard before - the only new one I heard was that Abi used the ice pack to make a mark and that's why it wasn't there later that evening.
(I'm even willing to believe some parts of the story don't add up but the distinction isn't important in terms of the competition outcome - Jimmy had to go home for it. But if it were possible to prove that Abi wasn't hit and just made it seem like she was hit in the head to make things worse for Jimmy, it would fuck her reputation up).

Anyway this would all be unimportant and regarded except Abi shows up during the explanation.

Well for one Betty has been on the show before and has commented that S2 was oddly dark and violent largely because of the actions of the production crew. She empathizes with the fish because she herself participated in the harassment of a fish, her character Betty was a clone specifically designed to screw with Letty after all. The show is a pressure cooker at times and some of the fish react poorly to the stress, Jimmy hasn't demonstrated any sort of rage out stuff outside of the tank at all, he is just a generic funny guy who gets sloshed on the weekends. Betty is just annoyed at Abi's constant shape shifting, something that Tay noticed almost immediately when she entered the tank. One moment Abi will be playing the vulnerable crying girl and then switch to a killer mindset. Abi went into Jimmy's chat the other day and gave off the appearance that she had largely moved past the incident and was happy to see Jimmy, only for her to start whining about it again the next day and saying she should have gone harder on Tay instead of just cutting the yarn. Betty is right that she has zero idea which "Abi" she will be talking to at any particular moment, which is why she declined to voice chat with her on the stream.

Plus she seems to be doing it just to stir some shit up for fun

Jimmy was the only guy on either season to take out his stress physically on a small woman. Chris spat in Letty's face but never actually hit her. It's unique to him. The only thing that comes close is Tay hitting Trish but they are both small women so it's different imo.

To be clear I don't think Jimmy is some evil violent person I actually think the guy is pretty funny but he clearly has some serious unresolved issues with women he needs to work out. That's all I'm saying.

It feels like a solution to the whole show, in a way. Just invert it. Promise every contestant $8k, to be awarded on day 42 or the day they are permitted to leave, and deny it to them if they leave prematurely. Everyone who is in the house when someone leaves prematurely receives a nice bonus. Fish are properly incentivized to get in, make a huge impression on the audience, get cash for making others leave, and get out as fast as possible or else the money/time ratio gradually becomes very bad. Nobody is incentivized to play safely. There's also no issue with onboarding freeloaders as contestants as nobody is entitled to a grand prize and showing up fresh doesn't mean as much.

When someone gets scammed by prod it just forces them to suffer for longer instead of denying them 50 grand.
