I've been over this off and on, if you kept up with her she was entertaining but it often required paying attention to her reactions to TTS or keeping up with her as she went about her day. If you didn't care for her, she's not going to be entertaining but plenty of people kept up with her on the show and she could banter with TTS just fine and handle the heat in her own way.
Letty being the "content queen" is less impactful now knowing she was coached to some degree by the crew and had direct blessings. For me that takes away some of the magic, she ended up being a hybrid contestant and "plant" or whatever term one likes to use. I reference Josie's staying power because she's undeniably entertaining to people. Yep, plenty of simps, but if you've seen the streams of each contestant, she's objectively the most on top of things with the most going on per stream. She's clippable for funny moments, where others hardly are.

Letty also relied on simps for her stream income and can't entertain easily outside of the gaggle she accrued from the show. If you don't like Josie that's one thing but at this point you can't say "Josie doesn't do anything."

What do you want her to do? The show didn't encourage acting out unless you were Letty apparently. Obviously what Josie did worked out, she was often the most watched, demonstrably the most TTS'd and would try during challenges.
Cell 2: II didn't come with a caveat of "constantly entertain the viewers," from their perspective it was whoever wins the most challenges and stays in the room wins. That's what she focused on. It's not like Josie fans were entertained by Letty in Cell 2: II.

I'm betting she never actually talked anytime they came upstairs and shoved a camera in her face, which is why she has been almost totally unrepresented in these episodes.

Yeaaaah... the edits are known for being comprehensive and not trying to adhere to some invisible, forced narrative that nobody but Jet is familiar with. Of course she talked when they went up there to her, they'd talk to her and she'd respond.

I'm pleasantly surprised her fans haven't been complaining asking for more footage of her contributions on episodes 3-6 even though they know damn well that footage does not exist.

Josie's current fans are not Fishtank fans. They've moved on. Once everyone realized the episodes would be mediocre at best, they stopped caring altogether and just focus on her streams. They get more footage of their favorite contestant than any other fan group. They're content without the episodes at this point.

The only other person they could do that with is Mauro. Even Simmons would be jarring. Letty arguing with the air where Sylvia belongs would be jarring. There's basically no moments that lean on Josie.

Take it up with Jet, the director. If that's what he wanted he should have set it up, that's his job. Their job on the show was not to cause drama, it was to stay inside, no weed, win challenges, and implicitly be popular with viewers. Josie met all criteria without needing to go yell at a hog or repeatedly rely on gross out humor. Little bits like being the only person to reliably clean, tanking whatever came her way, having the most confessionals, etc were what she was about. You can say she didn't entertain you but she entertained plenty and won the show and post-show. She was by far the most engaging with the viewers directly.

Too lazy to dig through archives to find the post but I was browsing a /tv/ thread that posted a webm of joise breaking out in tears briefly over a video game. Maybe there was more context to it but it seemed like this happened after she failed a challenge in the game. Very bizarre, her being in front of a couple dozen to hundred of people probably didn't help her feel better. Feel like if she streams long enough she'll probably end up having a full break down.

Most of Josie's fans are in /ftl/ on /bant/ though have begun posting off site more.
It was her members' stream playing Bomb Rush Cyberfunk and getting frustrated over a specific challenge she was stuck on. Impossible to say as view count isn't available on those streams but probably 200-300. Later, she hid under a blanket to chill out, played with her cat, returned, and beat the challenge.

Do you not understand how that is fundamentally different from the content everyone else produced. Sitting in your room interacting solely with TTS is not real content dude. It's at this point you're making it clear to me you're simping for josie and don't really care about fishtank itself, just you're waifu. Josie even said it herself early on that she wanted to use fishtank as an opportunity to be more social. Fishtank was ultimately meant to be a social game and josie bwoke da fishtank by getting by doing pretty much nothing the majority of the time besides talking to TTS by herself. You can say that technically she didn't have to socialize or play the game but that's really a flaw with the production of the show with how little challenges actually mattered with half of the tank leaving themselves or getting kicked out. While I won't exactly claim the show was rigged for josie, she clearly got a lot of coddling because people paid up for fishtoys and tts. Jon was coddled too until his freak out that made him basically stop doing anything.

No matter how you spin it, Josie got by not playing how fishtank is meant to be played, by socializing and scheming. Again this is the productions fault because they literally gained a lot of money by having josie stay on as long as possible because of the tts/fishtoys and the poor planning in general would often ignore forget about elimination challenges and in general challenges were done very haphazardly. The end of the show especially...they were literally asking for challenge ideas on twitter while the "final challenge" was still happening. They had no fucking clue how to end the show.

This is fanfiction. Everyone had direct blessings to fuck shit up. Sylvia said on stream that she talked to Jet about wiping her ass with Letty's clothes after she did it and said she felt bad and that it was beneath her, and Jet said she should've confronted Letty with the poo clothes instead. Obviously that would have blown up in Sylvia's face but Jet's whole job was to egg everyone on, the difference is that Letty would come up with ideas she approved of that were worth executing on. Shaking the baby for example was demonstrably an original idea she came up with, you can see how it came about on the cameras. As was lying about the hotdogs, or stealing the watergun from Vance, mimicking Frank, etc etc etc.

On Kiwifarms this has been what the divide is about. People watched for drama and interactions, not surprising as that's what people come to Kiwifarms for, but it was never a prescribed method of play. People got upset that Josie didn't "play" the way they assumed the show was meant to be, meanwhile you have Vance literally scheming and it's punished by the crew early on. It never, ever worked out in his favor.
Scheming was never a valid way to play, as much as it should have been.

TTS would say all kinds of stuff and she'd reply or respond with a bit, that's all it was. Vance had that early on but his "Yeah" and "LETS GO!!!!" only goes so far. Letty and Sylvia would straight up ignore TTS sometimes if they were in a foul mood, though Letty was much better.
Josie would respond in some way to all TTS, good or bad.

I am referring to how after the show Letty has said she would run ideas by people down in the basement which implies instances of explicit approval before acting. For me that removes the magic of Letty being the plotting witch that spontaneously cooked up ideas in her room then executed them. It's impossible to say now what was and wasn't approved beforehand and how much of it was her idea or not. Washing Jon's Bible is the easiest reference, they sold it upstairs as Ben cajoling her but she was in on it well before the viewers were.
So much of the show has ended up being inauthentic in the name of forced friction. That's lamer than some girl bouncing off of viewers alone and typically being unphased by whatever people threw at her.

Because Josie didn't play into Letty's nonsense and Vance was retardedly trying to do schemes that literally went nowhere. Often done at night. Josie tended to have a room alone but when she didn't she talked with her roomy like anyone else.
Josie and Letty were basically the only ones reliably doing confessionals and Josie easily had the most, sharing her thoughts on events. Sylvia would've wigged out way harder much sooner and probably would've walked. Without him playing sounding board most of the cast would have not shared their thoughts early on before they realized they could talk to the cameras (saying yeah and not participating is a step above Josie- on the rare occasions anyone tried their feelings at Josie they'd get visibly uncomfortable as she would behave as though they were not talking).
He was like @Bass Vendor said a great foil for Letty, someone who was trying to play a similar game to her but failing in the respects that she was succeeding thus making Letty's follow-through more impressive
He might not be the one to start conversations but once engaged in one he would be as entertaining as anyone else, capable of firing back and raising his voice and barbing people instead of what you got out of Josie ("....erm." "...okay" "....erm....." *draws for two straight hours in a room full of vibrant conversation*)
He was the first to start sharing his strategy to the cameras, he didn't do confessionals because his voice would carry so he was ultimately easier to find talking to the cameras because the bedroom cameras weren't buggy
the early lying and gaslighting things he would do, he perpetuated the entity thing which caused production to follow through on it rather than let it be a throwaway moment
he was the standout actor compared to the others so challenges like impersonations and mother's day had value instead of just being Letty doing a pretty-good job and everyone else sucking dick

Vance was really easy to hate. He was full of himself and thought he was better than he was. This made his downfall even better. Vance trying to manipulate Letty to drop her alliance with Jon only to fail miserably will always be funny. Jon unknowingly btfoing Vance while Vance just sits was funny. Everytime he tried to backstab someone he immediately tried to backtrack and say “it’s just for the game guys” but whenever someone else did the same stuff (mainly Letty) she was evil and a psychopath. Basically the purpose of Vance to me at least was to root for his downfall. On top of that a large majority of Fishtank viewers outside of this thread loved Vance, so it made rooting for his downfall all the more potent due to it uniting the kiwifarm Fishtank community against the opinion of others outside of kiwifarms.

Josie to me is boring mediocrity. She might have had late night chats, but there’s nothing to go off of that makes her a main character. She can’t be someone to root for (like first 16 days Jon or post Jon Letty) because she never really went through much hardship, and she cannot be someone you root against (like Damiel or Vance) because she didn’t really do anything of substance to warrant hatred. This puts her in limbo and as a result makes her seem boring to many people in this thread.

On top of this, any Josie moment that was memorable was only memorable because Josie didn’t do much. Everyone was freaking out when she sprayed Letty with a water gun because she never really did any actions before. If say Jon or Vance were to do that it’d be seen as mid Jontent or classic Vance behavior. If Letty did it it would be Letty being a bitch. If Josie does it it’s awesome and one of her most memorable moments on the show. My point is, if your memorable moments could be considered average content making behavior for other contestants you’re probably not a great fish.

Freeloaders get a pass by me. They weren't there to win, they were there to stir the pot. If anything, the crew should have coached them more so they leveraged known pressure points.

Summarizing what you said, Vance saying "yeah" to girls talking was noteworthy, shared strategies that never took off, lack of confessionals cope, his engagement with entity was nothing as anyone would have mentioned if they had that encounter, "standout actor" but still laughably bad.
You could easily cut Vance out of most spots and no one would notice, which is apparently the measure of the show.

Josie participated in RP challenges just like everyone else and tended to do well.
She committed to and fulfilled the camping coup and even talked about her plot and leadership plans in the confessional. This involved finding and hiding the water gun as well.
Leading up to Frank she did a mini quest of asking others if she could hide certain plushies among their items, which they each independently agreed to.
Of course she tried to help Vance not lose but both are such bad actors.
Her lack of care for shark attacks was a contrast to everyone else's reactions, which was funny in its own way.
The infamous reaction to seeing Chris in his natural (natural??) glory followed up by her working out a deal with him to avoid a repeat.

The primary difference is that people here insist everyone on the show had to force interactions with others or they should be made to leave the house. That was never a rule, the focus was on challenges and being popular, which is where Josie excelled. Being popular was heavily implied throughout and clearly a major influence.

To reiterate, Josie was entertaining because she engaged with viewers and often had something going on in between challenges. During challenges she put in the effort. You can say that's boring but no one else on the show was half as engaging all the way through. Everyone chilled on viewer engagement except her. Nearly every major moment, Josie commented on in some form. Saying she sucked because she didn't react to people or things the way you wanted is absurd. I point to her post-show relevance because that's a quantifiable metric by which you can say she's entertaining relative to others.
It all comes down to baseless declarations that Josie didn't "play the game" the way it was meant to be played.

On the first morning he told everyone he had seen it and that it told him to take Jon's possessions and described what it looked like (quadrupedal, black, glowing red eyes). If he hadn't brought it up again they probably wouldn't have bought the costume and trolled him with it.

There were entire days where Josie didn't say a word to other people in the house. If not the whole entire day then for 12 hours waking hours straight right through peak hours and early to bed. I don't know how the fuck that gets a pass.

edit: Also you keep saying production never told her to get involved, holding off on how that is hypocritical against you saying Letty only did things because she was told to, Josie was told to get involved. A lot. Day one everyone was told to be interesting. Sam told everyone to be interesting or he'd bring in a homeless guy. She was repeatedly taken aside and told to do something interesting and would just go 'haha...' as though they didn't mean it and go back to doing fuckall. The Ella thing for example might have been forced but I still remember how exasperated Sam sounded when Josie basically said, yeah I know you paid some dough to fly this girl in to push me to be more interesting but I can't commit to lifting a fucking pinky finger to acknowledge her presence. In the six or so times I can recollect her talking to Ben, Jet, or Sam, they suggested either that she was being boring and should knock it off, or tried to lob her an easy thing to do other than wake up draw eat sleep and she would go 'erm.... haha....' and not do it and go back to drawing in silence for hours. I don't think they could be clearer with her that her contribution was shit and I think the only reason she survived to the end is because Sylvia is fat and there was a Dorito bag in the wrong spot.
