Ummmm akshualley...

The normal season pass was previously $60 for 6 months. The actual price of the pass has not changed, it just depends now on whether you perfer to be billed monthly or every 6 months. Now the XL pass, that fucker is up $10 for 6 months. It was previously $200 dollars for that period, which they changed to $35 a month. Do the math and that comes to $210, or $420 each year ($20 up). Anyway, only whales could justify getting an XL pass period because it doesn't do much outside of allowing you to create clans and making your text funny colors.
What do you even get for a normal season pass?

Previously the main perks was access to chat, edited episodes once they're done as well as the VOD archive. Well now chat is open to anyone, episodes get dropped YouTube on the same day and I'm not even sure they're doing archives anymore.

Access to paypig locked cams like confessional, and as of S4 access to all cams between 10pm - 10am, which is cringe. Also 100 "free" tokens every time you pay the 10bux.

In other news, Null talked about us on MATI last night and even gave @<3 norafawn a shoutout:

Season 4 - Not preparing the houses and not getting their legal side of things in order and winging the season to see how far they could get before getting shut down.

S1/S4 house -How much you want to bet that they used the patented Hyde method of just not paying those $300 fines? $300 x 42 =$12,600.00. I’m thinking there’s zero chance they paid these fines. Honestly, they were probably going to the owner of the s1 house (that random chinaman) and that’s probably why he’s in actual legal trouble.

“Jail time” for filming your wacky show? No. Jail time for not paying 12k worth of fines from over a year ago? Yeah.

S2 house they were fucked from the start. Town hates them from last time and would never in a million years grant any sort of permit to film. Appeal whatever decision the town makes and you’re still getting told to fuck off after a year of litigation. S3 house was probably similar, but I don’t know for sure.

I used to buy the XL pass, because it was $200 and it came with $200 worth of TTS tokens. Everything else is some useless bullshit. Occasionally logged on and drew some TTS tokens from the daily gacha pull.

I was supposed to watch Freddy get drunk right now. I'm still sneeding and coping.
greg should have aryeh on his new show theyd prob get along well
I think he said that he likely won't have anyone from the most recent cast on there. Had a stream a few days ago about conGREGated.
I hope it will deliver. Been watching some of the seGREGated recaps and while the low production value was pretty apparent, it had more shit happening in a day than in some FTL weeks so I try to genuinely want to believe greg wants to entertain.

Greg took some edibles for his July 4th stream, said "uh oh" and got up and left his room for over an hour. :story:
View attachment 7601988
He came back on stream, was barely coherent, said he had fallen asleep in his own vomit, then fell asleep again. He is currently asleep on stream if you want to see.
View attachment 7601974
Update: someone donated bits on Twitch and the sound effect woke Greg up :)
View attachment 7602027
Within a minute or two he decided to go icky pukers :(
View attachment 7602045
He is face down in this bag making the grossest retching and vomiting noises. They should clip this and use it for the puke SFX in season 5.
View attachment 7602053
The face of a man who has taken too much THC.

Pukeathon complete. Greg says "damn bro," gets up and leaves his room again.

been there.

Fishtank is something that's hard to do and keep a sizeable fanbase while retaining "creative control". I know I've alluded to it before and many other people on this thread have too but even getting a giant fanbase isn't all that great because it causes tons of other issues.

The other side of it is that the show is simply too long for many people to continuously watch. Even people in this thread either don't have time for "current season" or just miss the first few weeks and don't feel inclined to get into it.

The spinoffs seem way easier to do because they're a lot less complex and simply because they're new (whereas fishtank "production" is basically a company now). The real reason they do spinoff shows is because of boredom and also because the money from Fishtank itself is shit - Burt was supposed to win $50k and that's not really even enough to live for a year depending on your standards. Also very few of them get on to future seasons/MDE stuff regularly (except Letty and Luke and some others in small parts I guess).

A few of them solo Livestream but everyone knows how that is. Only a few percent of livestreamers even make enough money to live off of and most fishtank contestants don't have enough charisma and stamina to make it work.

Either way "Le wacky livestreamed 24/7 show" is just another segment of the market and Fishtank still isn't even super profitable based off of the numbers. The only person Jet and production need to be worried about in terms of competitors is other livestreamers with significant fanbases starting similar things (such as when Jet acted like a bitch because IP or someone else was doing something vaguely similar to Bloodgames)
On occasion the Fishtank discourse goes into the idea of who is being played. Is production being tortured, the fish, the audience? It is an interesting aspect of it all; that the show is a shared experience between everyone. The FOMO fucks with you at times and it nurtures a kind of resentment. The show itself can feel torturous just watching and attempting to keep up. 6 weeks is a long time and everyone suffers together to some degree, everyone is losing sleep, everyone is compelled. It is all a very strange unique experience.

Replicating it may seem easy but the real magic is far more than 24h surveillance of a group of people.

Ex-fish have a good shot, but they universally lack authority. I think seGREGated worked well because Greg wasn't Sam. Greg was playing to his strengths as a contestant. ADL suffered from attempting to hold authority over the heads of their cast of plants and failed horribly. There is something to the show when there is a clear figure of authority present in the hell-house. Whatever spin-off a fish will do needs to start humble in that way, contestants all playing along for fun with less egde. It will all feel toothless I fear.

It’s usually not the contestants fault for crashing out. If anything, a major crash out is a sign of a good contestant being pushed or targeted way too much by prod. You’re right that the lack of background checks is bad for the show.

Seriously, think of every contestant who has had a major crash out on the show. Jon, Alex B, Summer, Jimmy, and (arguably) Cole. All of them were content machines who were pushed to the limit by prod before having a predictable meltdown a blind man could see coming. If prod understood when to take their foot off the gas then maybe we wouldn’t have a content drought halfway through every season.
This is all the more reason why the wiggers need to make sure they get contestants with enough mental fortitude to endure. The wiggers never care to do more than cursory background checks. Nor do they care to at least ask questions of the contestants beforehand to determine their personalities. It is so supremely lazy. People like Summer would've never been allowed on Fishtank if the wiggers just talked to her for 30 minutes. Her mental illness is obvious. It's actually a lot easier to do than people realize when you're talking about complete fuck ups. They always leave a trail of shit. It took me a couple seconds to find Summer's facebook page and old insta with all her BPD shit on it. That should've been enough to tell the wiggers to GTFO.

Give me the money, Thiel. I'll make a way sicker Fishtank.

Sometimes I feel like I’m in an abusive relationship with Fishtank and honestly that adds a lot to the experience. The wiggers will lie and gaslight the audience and fuck up at every turn, but the highs more than make up for the lows. I remember how glued to the live feed I was during the final weeks of S3 and I don’t think I’ve ever been that invested in a show before. The Ball Brothers concert was fucking retarded but I loved every second of it.

Greg has the huge advantage of being genuinely enthusiastic about his project (and the FT fans who watch him seem a lot less rabid, which probably helps). I’m looking forward to ConGREGated because it truly works as a spinoff - it supplements the main show but doesn’t try to replace it. Also Greg seems so excited about all the work he’s put in, so I’m excited too.

Are you kidding me? Summer's crashout was one of the craziest episodes of season 2. Perhaps you're just making an ethical argument, but you can't argue that it wasn't entertaining to watch unfold.
Personally I think contestants balking under the pressure and leaving is a feature rather than a bug, at least depending on how it happens. The Fishtank is supposed to break you. Prior to the recent investor stream I don't think this was ever really treated like an issue.

Greg lacks the fund the wiggers have and is a weirdo himself, but he's got passion and gives it his all, which is admirable and respectable.

It’s amazing how incompetent you have to be to not even bother doing a basic social media check on potential contestants. That shit should be a no brainer for a show as intense as FT.

I hope it gets more views this time around. SeGREGated had the misfortune of being live during the early days of Streamstars and that probably siphoned off a good chunk of potential viewers.

It's weird because it does sometimes sound like him but the rest of the time it doesnt. I also don't remember Cole talking like that much of a Zoomer. The music sounds more like him at least, and some of the photos he used are new. Maybe he's just covering up for the inevitable crash out where he deletes everything and doesnt want it blowing back on him IRL.
Based on the stream, he seems to be playing a character, and I'd also assume he is under the influence of some substance since it was the 4th of July.
Also, he has done covered streams after deleting everything once before.

The head shape also matches.
I don't think it's an impostor, it's just Cole fucking around.

It honestly still hurts. This is embarrassing powerleveling but Fishtank means a lot to me. When it’s on I watch it almost constantly. It makes me feel not alone and connected to things, both the stream and because of the Sneedchat community. I very much look forward to it and count down the days. Knowing that we should’ve been on Day 23, barely halfway through, and instead have nothing just hurts. I don’t really care right now if it’s the wiggers’ fault or what. It just sucks.

I haven't seen any updates on CK's terrorism charges, so I did my own digging (mugshot/archive).

I'm not well versed in the courts, but it sounds like she was locked up from May 19th until June 18th. It sounds like her gofundme did a FOIA (update #1 text & image), but they probably wouldn't post the details. I've never done one, but if anyone is familiar with the process I'm sure it'd be interesting.
