With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

/ftl/ got in a fight with Betty and her telegram. It ended with her banning over 1000 people from telegram and posting a new video of her pissing on the floor like it was some sort of own. Her rant is funny because she's been on /bant/ trying to get attention for weeks now and the comment that finally sent her over the edge was something like "You will never be /ourgirl/".

The highlight was some nerdy guy having a meltdown via voice message. He's a retard and didn't know voice messages could be saved.
 
I was watching Josie's stream tonight for a few minutes out of boredom and it really got me thinking about the whole TJ story arc thing. You guys remember how the whole narrative was he became a man and came out of a shell going through fishtank and then he got out and instantly reverted back to a silent autistic? Josie actually did change. She's completely come out of the shell she was in during season 1. An actual non bullshit transformation as a person that has stuck for a year now. I just found that interesting.
 
I mentioned during fishtank live season 2 that I wanted to find a platform for a play money prediction market so we could speculate. I never got around to it, and decided to wait for S3. Now that we have S2.5, now is as good of a time as any. The best looking website I have found is manifold.markets, HOWEVER upon further investigation, manifold does not allow the creation of non-gmail accounts, or anonymous accounts. So thats out. I'll keep looking. Anyone have any other ideas?

Was she ever really "in her shell"? she always just seem like a bit of a weirdo but still outgoing.
 
During some very slow nights of true boredom, I'll maybe throw on a Josie stream. I'd say she's amusing enough in a harmless way, but I remember turning on her Easter stream where I saw this young injun girl act like a total child as she was hunting for eggs in her room for the amusement of her audience. Then I thought "People really spend money on this huh?"

I wouldn't necessarily agree - she's just comfortable because she's physically alone and whatever amount she did change happened after the show ended.

It reminds me of people saying the show opened Greg up- they just saw an outgoing man who was scared and in a new environment get comfortable and show what he's like normally. But people were fishing for "arcs" then.

That being said, I predict season 2.5 is just sticking them in The Cell challenge, turning on TTS, and giving $10k to the winner or something. No way they have anything long-term planned out (not that they ever do). The whole thing will probably be for a week or so tops.

I don't attribute any changes to going on Fishtank but she has gotten more out of her shell which is more apparent with IRL streams. Compare an early in-room and early IRL stream to a recent one of the same kind and you can see a difference. Either way, she had more "growth" during the show than TJ did because TJ walked in and walked out behaving the exact same.
 
I expect much thirst posting for Alison, who will be the simp for her on our page is what I wonder?

A mini-season seems like a good way to experiment what kind of people/entertainment they can expect out of using casting agencies. If it ends up being a boring mess, the losses would be much lower compared to a full season. I don't trust them to actually use 2.5 to improve, since they seem not very capable of learning on their mistakes, but who knows.
 
If they are really, truly, honestly and actually finding uninitiated fish through a casting agency it is going to be so much more entertaining. It might even be, dare I say it, not bad

It's a gambit. It can go really well and give some great contestants but it can also go really bad and give normies who won't be willing to do anything edgy or fucked up.
