Half the cast left in the first 2 1/2 weeks because they were fans of the show and had no actual interest in winning the prize money. The final 3 were a Japanese guy who struggled to understand English, a super cringy Sam Hyde fangirl and TJ. How in the hell can you believe that was better then season 1 where basically every single person was determined to win?

Mauro and Damiel were worse than anyone on season 2. I got bored with it half way through, so I'm not putting Sylvia that low since I've heard she got better. She definitely was close to that in my opinion of what I really watched.

Also the second half was lame as Vance and Letty were essentially staff keeping the charade going to milk Josie simps until the end. Even then, Season 2 had the way worse ending as Jet and Sam made it blatantly clear it's not a game show, it's a Reality TV show. Which really hurt Tay as she was actually trying to compete in something that wasn't a contest.

Mauro and Damiel were worse than anyone on season 2.
Mauro's worst sin was simply being uninteresting. He was gone after 10 days so he had little impact on the show. You could say the same thing about Megan and JC in season 2. Damiel while certainly a try hard did have some funny moments and was memorable. People liked Damiel.

Vance for sure knew he had no shot at winning by the end but I'm not sure about Letty.

Now that the dust has settled we can admit that neither season was very good. Season 1 was entertaining enough because it was new, exciting and seemed dangerous. By the end most people felt ripped off, and the edited season wasn't appealing to potential new fans. Season 2 had a lot of hype and Christmas vibes but felt incredibly fake and even more phoned-in than before. Jet Neptune is bad at his job and exudes Sam's worst traits while exhibiting none of his positive ones. The only thing about Season 3 that will automatically set it apart from season 1 & 2 is that MDE is absolutely back. It doesn't feel like FT is a majorly important pivotal point in Sam's career anymore and the success of the show won't impact his career.

season 1 was interesting, not really good but interesting, cause it was something so weird and unique that , well you had to be there.
season 2 was just misery porn by a man whose main claim to fame nowdays is mass shooting hoaxes and getting called a pedophile in every platform imaginable

Both seasons had stretches where it really declined in quality (season 1 during the camping challenge and season 2 during the starvation later part of the show) but I think both were good. Like I'm not going to sit for hours upon hours and watch something I don't even enjoy or think is good. Season 1 was way better though.

Happy Fishtank Anniversary. It has been one year since season one started, and I find it very funny that Jet is honoring such a day by revolutionizing the entertainment industry once more. Usually it takes a few years before a creator starts to rush out more of their creation for some quick cash. Jet is advancing culture by refusing to be limited by rules such as respecting one’s creation. I wonder if season 2.5 will be viewed as the black sheep of the series.

JC was interesting in that she was the only person, I think it both seasons, to really be ignorant of who Sam was(other than maybe Simmons?) Keeping her for longer should of been a priority, especially if she could of screwed up everyone figuring they were all Sam Hyde fans a little longer, but they really had it in for Cole from early on. Damiel never felt like a real contestant.

I thought it was pretty openly talk after that Letty was doing stuff for Sam and Jet to maintain the show. That's why she got the $30k, she essentially saved the entire production from falling apart a week or two early. Vance very clearly did since he got out of the house briefly to be on WP2.

Season 1 felt like it had potential. Yeah it was a disaster that fell apart, but they were doing something way above their heads. Season 2 showed that they never understood why people liked the show, and were obviously actively making it worse.

A vance vs Josie finale would have been the worst shit ever. If Letty decided she had enough and left early I have no idea how they would save the show. It's interesting to think about.

Sam’s last show for a while was yesterday, and he doesn’t have another until the 12th, so I’m expecting this pretty soon and the timing makes sense

JC is the true normie who had zero understanding of internet culture at all, but she never could have been convinced to stay because she was only there to have housing over the Christmas break. Shinji was close because he had no idea who Sam was or anything related to MDE, but he was aware of a lot of internet culture because he would riff right along with Jimmy and Tay in conversations about internet meme things.

Sam told Josie and Vance that there was zero way a finale between the two of them was going to occur because it would have been boring so it wasn't happening. Letty was more or less briefed that she was going to be in the finale and that she had the option to arrange who she wanted to face off against but she didn't really seem to care about that.

I get excited because I feel like the set up for greatness is there, the potential, but as the season goes on and I quickly lose all enthusiasm because there isn't any plan and it quickly falls apart and the staff can't stay out of the show and I end up disliking most of the remaining contestants as we learn more about them, and there isn't any real clear contest or goals.

And I am ready to continue this cycle all over again for Season 3 :)

To celebrate Fishtank's one-year anniversary, here are some chat logs from Season 1. These were our reactions to notable events in the show, nothing here is revealing enough to threaten any users' privacy.

The thumbnails would've been really long if I hadn't adjusted their sizes, so they're all presented here as small squished squares, click on them to enlarge to normal size. The feature that allows you to choose thumbnail size just doesn't work outside of editing, so fuck it. Happy one year to the most time-consuming show I've ever watched in my life.

I liked S2 more than S1, but I only watched till Jon & Jimmy were out (the first time). I think I'll just continue with this and pick a retard for S3 and watch until they're gone.

Oh this is good, copy pasted cause I want to comment and so it's easier to read on mobile:

Fishtank is a cutting-edge, live-streamed interactive reality game show where contestants from diverse backgrounds face off inside The Fishtank. Participants face a series of elimination challenges designed to test their limits for a chance to win The Grand Prize. The rules are strict: contestants must stay indoors at all times with no internet, no privacy, and no weed.
*Rules are not strict at all
I feel like this is going to eventually show up in a legal document claiming that by self identifying as a game show, they are subject to TV game show regulations. Not saying they are, just that the case will be made when someone decides they were unfairly shafted.

In the dynamic world of Fishtank, there is no singular formula for victory. Our Fish must demonstrate a blend of determination, intelligence, skill, luck, and charisma to prevail.
The fact that both winners so far had little demonstration of intelligence, skill, luck, or charisma, and had significantly less determination of other contestants disagrees with this.

Throughout their time in the Fishtank, they will encounter various challenges designed to test their mettle and transform them. Ultimately, only one contestant will outlast the others to claim The Grand Prize.
Grand Prize is not established, valued differently depending on what we told the contestant and how badly we mismanage finances.

As a viewer, you hold significant sway over the fate of the contestants. Whether you choose to support or impede them, your actions through interactive tools and decisions will influence each contestant's path to potential victory. Your involvement can make all the difference in the intense and unpredictable environment of the Fishtank.
*Sway not guaranteed. Sway is a purchased product that will be ignored if you don't choose the correct fate for Jet's fwends or Sam's message.

Fishtank is more than just a viewing experience — it's an interactive journey where you, the viewer, actively participate alongside the contestants. You have the power to customize your viewing experience by selecting different camera feeds, ensuring you never miss a moment. Save your favorite moments and share clips with others to relive the excitement. For those wanting a deeper dive, switch to Director Modeand gain access to the staff's camera focus, putting you in the heart of the action.
By watching the show, you will slowly accumulate Experience Points, which gradually add up to raise your Level. Your level is displayed next to your name in the chat room, and when you accumulate enough levels you will rank up and receive a title. The highest level users can be found on the Leaderboard. They are the highest tier of users... and your goal is to collect more XP than them? Good luck pal! You're gonna need to start watching... UMMM oh I don't know... YESTERDAY!?!?!!? For those chasing the top: engaging in timed missions, participating in the chat, using dropped items, or crafting multiple items together can significantly boost your XP.
Our viewers are able to communicate with each other in our moderated chatroom, share clips with each other, and generally treat each other and the contestants/freeloaders/staff with respect — which they do. You will never find a more loving and accepting community of generous and kind individuals. Usernames appear in different colors to indicate roles: blue for moderators, purple for administrators, and gold for those with premium profiles. A Fish symbol (🐟) next to a name denotes former contestants or staff. Please remember to be kind to one another and type with love.
God they are happy with their cringe engagement interface. Always remember, Fishtank is best restreamed and in the Sneedchat.

Viewers are at the heart of Fishtank, wielding considerable influence over the course of the show by utilizing an array of interactive tools called Fishtoys. These tools allow viewers to manipulate aspects of the environment, send text-to-speech messages in various voices to communicate with the contestants, and trigger sound effects or music to influence the participants of the show. Fishtoys are purchasable with tokens, which can also be used to tip other users or donated to Clan Leaders by their members.
*Fishtoys and TTS will be aggressively manipulated or faked to craft the show Production wants, despite being the best content.
How can I participate said:
Additionally, viewers can join forces by forming or joining Clans. Within these groups, they can deploy Wartoys against rival Clans in strategic battles, aiming to dominate the leaderboards or deplete the opposing clans' membership. Tokens can also be spent in important Narrative Polls as well as Opinion Polls. One token is equal to a single vote, allowing users to sway the result of a poll with more funding. Narrative Polls will influence a creative decision in the show, and whatever choice is selected is final — no takebacks.
Lol, Lmao even.

THE CAST said:
FISH
The main contestants of Fishtank. These participants are tasked with completing various challenges to remain in the competition. Fish must be able to navigate social situations fluently, while also being able to maintain focus on instructions and execute needlessly complex or meaningless objectives. The Fish are competing for The Grand Prize, but they are prone to distraction from the stressful environment of the Fishtank. Viewers may choose to rally behind one Fish based on their popularity, and may choose to single out and obstruct another. You as a viewer may choose to endorse a Fish, displaying their initials next to your name in chat in order to show your support.
The Fish will barely be able to distinguish between their ass and a hole in the ground, and will succeed only on the whim of Production.
THE CAST said:
FREELOADERS
Introduced to spice up the show, Freeloaders mimic real contestants but aren't required to participate in challenges and cannot win The Grand Prize. Freeloaders are often complex and intriguing people who have forceful personalities, which may make life harder for our Fish during the show. When freeloaders work together, watch out! There's no telling what chaos they'll cause.
Introduced to make up for mismanagement of the show and keep a cast around to fill in the weeks after the show failed.
THE CAST said:
SHARKS
Occasional disruptors, Sharks are staff members who enter the show to causedisruptions or execute specific tasks dictated by viewer Fishtoys. Their roles include delivering peculiar items, telling stories, or giving pep talks to various Fish. They may also give Fish or Freeloaders intermediate challenges to complete in order to keep the show interesting.
Sharks largely discontinued to give Jet more face time.
THE CAST said:
STAFF
Members of Staff keep the show running, clothe and feed the fish, keep them safe and secure. Without them, the overall welfare of the Fish would go neglected. Please thank them for being heroes. They are heroes.
More responsible for harm to Fish and the show, occasionally one will be sober enough from the nitrous haze to be yelled at by Sam to stop obvious liable endangerment.
THE CAST said:
GOLDSTRIKER
The enigmatic host of the show. This mysterious tall and muscular man appears to give the Fish interesting challenges, lecture them on common sense, and give them important and long lasting life lessons in a no-nonsense way. Nobody knows who Mr. Goldstriker really is, except for you. ;)
And 88% of the cast.
