Details: The debate will be 90 minutes long and have no commercial breaks. There will be no opening statements, and instead Wallace will dive right in with the first question to Trump. It will be divided into six 15-minute segments that Wallace has chosen. They are:
1) The Trump and Biden records;
2) The Supreme Court;
3) Covid-19;
4) the economy;
5) race and violence in cities;
6) the integrity of the election.

After the debates a poll will be posted on who you think won this first debate. Have lots of fun, keep the commentary fresh as I'm sure we've all heard many of the same lines for months and enjoy the beginning of the end of this presidential election cycle. Just as a reminder, on October 7th there will be a Vice Presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Mike Pence at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.
You can view Joe Biden's megathread here, and Donald Trump's megathread here

I didn't watch this shit at all, but instead I heard about it from everyone else who did at while I was at work and when I was running errands today. Most of the people voting for Trump didn't like how he acted and the handful of Democrats out there, especially the old-school ones, felt like Biden was speaking directly to the American people and ignoring Trump being a bully. As far as the people who matter the general attitude I'm getting is a lot of fatigue, I think those people are just sick of Trump's antics and 100% asshole mode he has when he's on camera with an adversary and there probably isn't a good option in front of them. Based on what I heard I think a lot of them would vote for Biden if he didn't seem so senile or just old in general because Trump being a loud-mouthed dick isn't doing it for anyone after months of riots and this wu flu shit and a million other problems. I guess it was funny in 2016, but if I actually cared I think I might feel sick of it too.

In the aftermath of the debate, two people in the neighborhood seem to have removed their Biden signs. Other signs for different races still up.

One major victory for Trump in the debate was the fact that "law and order" was spoken like 30 times

I noticed Trump using A LOT of repetition. People mock his style but it's really effective especially in a fast-paced format like the debate. Even when Biden was coherent reciting his practiced statements, it's hard to follow and retain what he's saying in that type of environment. For almost every segment Trump had a couple words or phrases he repeated over and over for emphasis and that's what sticks in people's minds.

I'm absolutely dumbfounded by the changes they're making for the upcoming debates. Both sides have recognized Biden got steamrolled despite the best efforts of Wallace running interference. Biden's supporters are claiming he's going to knock everybody's socks off if only Trump would stop interrupting him but he runs just as much risk of hanging himself. And what is even the point of framing it as a debate if there's no interaction? It basically turns it into an interview. I think arranging things to be even more accommodating to Biden (muting Trump's mic, moderator has Biden ties) is only going to hurt him by making Trump look like the victim, especially when Biden is still bound to underwhelm. I also don't know how they're going to keep Trump from interrupting, even if they mute his mic, Biden will still be close enough to hear him and get distracted. They can't control everything and the more they try, they worse they'll look.

These are two (very) grown adults who are in the running to be the president. One IS the president and the other has held office for almost fifty years. Let them fucking argue with each other. It looks so bad they're trying to baby Biden instead of letting him defend himself. He is not going to have a team running around moderating and muting mics for him if he's elected and has to actually act as a leader and hold his own against people like Putin, Jinping, or even just Republican congressmen.

Being repeatedly called a racist that wants black people to die across all media all the fucking time has officially gotten old.

It was fucking old when I voted for bush, it stayed old when I didn't blindly support Obama's every move, it was old when I didn't sufficiently denounce Trump as a racist, it was old when I was a white supremacist for disagreeing with political violence.

At this point, I don't care about compromise. Those fuckers will just throw it back in my face. I just want to see them lose all power and control. I want to see the violent fucksticks in prison. I want all the liars and grifters exposed and embarrassed.

This needs to end now. Compassion and empathy only go so far in the face of constant bad faith attacks.

He largely took that and has run with it from the UK's own Peasents Revolt with the Brexit campaign where the key slogan repeated over and over and over and over was "Take Back Control". This was then supplemented with May's "Strong and Stable" (which turned to Weak and Wobbly due to her fucking awful performance) and then Bojo's simple "Get. Brexit. Done."

It works, it annoys the shit out of everyone but it sticks in people's heads.

It appears that the simulation has been reset again...

Are we now in fact looking at no further debates?
What about IBS styled debates. Both guys call in from their computer and yell at each other while chat calls the mod a fag.

I've seen for months theories that at the last minute, Biden is going to be replaced by the "real" candidate and that he's been a ringer all along.
So my question is the following: Is there a date that exists where even if Biden had a catastrophic aneurysm, the result would be it's too late to swap him out and Trump by default wins?
As I understamd it, electors are technically allowed to vote for anyone they like, even if the candidate they're pledged to is alive. So I think the short answer is No.

In the case of Biden's (or Trump's now that he's visited by corona-cjan) death, his electors would presumably all vote for their VP's instead.

They've responded to the sleeve thing by saying "it's a rosary he wears to honor his dead beloved son BEAU how dare you". Catholicism isn't an issue as long as it's a Dem. If he were on the other side, there'd be plenty of criticism about how the US is turning into a theocracy, the church's stance on abortion and traditional gender roles, and (especially considering the way he manhandles little girls) the widespread, decades-spanning child abuse.
Biden is so arrogant, I'm surprised that he hasn't responded, "It's a rosary I wear to honor my dead beloved son JESUS how dare you."

a handful of democrat electors broke ranks to be an example of weary GOP electors. Didn't work and i think the DNC sued or legally challenged the elector's decision.

Well here is SNL's take on it. Less funny than the actual event and at some points the parody makes no sense. And as a bonus, the OK sign is a racist dog whistle to evil white supremacists.

Its nice snl is trying to help Trump out now that he's sick.

Reminding people of how the insane left will destroy you for an innocent hand gesture is probably not the slam dunk they think it is.
