Imagine wanting to lesson the freedom of millions of people because a gay kid danced in a bar. Should we abolish straight marriage because of little girls at beauty pageants as well? There will never be a sane argument against gay marriage, and to see Republicans still seething about it all this time later makes me laugh. There is literally no logical reason against restricting marriage to a certain combination of the correct sexes outside of your feelings-laden argument.

Just because the left began to gain societal prominence doesn't mean religious nutbags and authoritarian rightwingers vanished. They just got a fresh coat of paint and began to claim underdog status to gain sympathy. You don't see a problem with traditional conservative bigotry not because its "less of a problem" than the current left, its because you agree with them.

Because sexualizing minors in the name of Pride got embraced by the mainstream media. I am perfectly fine with legalized gay marriage. I'd sooner want marriage to not be a legal institution period than have gay marriage overturned. Hell, you want to transition go ahead at 18. I could not give less of a fuck. What I take issue with is what is being done and preached to children, and the culture of unrestricted hedonism and the lack of objective meaning or standards I cant stand. Its the momentum it gave and the degeneracy that has been unleashed that I take issue with.

They do have underdog status tho, and the authoritarian wing of the right is vastly less authoritarian than the left has proven to be, especially in the face of these debates.

Honestly, banning gay marriage is self-defeating. Allowing gay marriage will help homosexuality to breed out, so to speak, which is our best bet until we can create a proper vaccine.

Take heart, old friend - things are always the darkest before dawn, and the DNC's utter failure here is only going to have good results for everyone else. That the Dems are going to lose is a bygone conclusion; the only question is how badly and what else they lose in the process. In this regard, we are looking at a situation that will make the blowout of 2016 look fucking gentle in contrast.

I'm dead serious. If you're wondering how I know this, it's very simple: The tide has turned, and the overpowering majority of the positions espoused by the Dem establishment right now are fucking non-starters with both sides of the political aisle. They've lurched so far to the left, in fact, that they are now starting to lose the mainline Progressives, leaving only the Pinkos and extremists as their voterbase - a voterbase that literally cannot get them elected.

The impact this has had on my feeds has been.... Enlightening. I have friends who have been die-hard Anti-Trumpers since 2016, who would not shut the fuck up about Russia even after the probe found fuck all. Every single one is now either voicing intent to sit this election out out of protest or outright vote for Trump. Most notable of all: My friend's wife, a never-Trumper, is now on board with supporting the President, because the debate made her realize the Dems have no intention of actually governing. This is only a tiny vertical slice of a bigger picture, but taken as part of a greater whole, the paradigm is clearly shifting, and not how these assclowns want.

The end of an era is coming.

Not only that, but one of the debates had all of the debaters raise their hands in response to a question asking if they supported providing government-sponsored medical care to "undocumented citizens." Considering how much of a drain it currently is on California, I can't see this being popular nation-wide especially with illegal immigration becoming more of a concern and seeing more pushback.

Presently, the Democratic candidates are making Trump at his worst look rather sane and giving the Republicans plenty of campaign fodder to use against whomever wins the Democratic nomination.

Tough to thoroughly refute this assertion of puppetry but tbf, Bill asked Gabbard right off if the reaction was organic or if she had planted support in the crowd, and he's usually good about calling out cheap applause lines that get a strong Los Angeles studio audience reaction but won't fly outside his studio audience well. She claimed it was just a reaction to her message resonating from the debate. Seems like a lot of work to go through to prop up support for a relatively anonymous representative from a small state. Warren is just barely a better, at best, public speaker than Hillary was in her second run and I'm not sure why this is such a difficult thing for her to either fix or for people who support her to realize, but wow I can imagine some sour ass grapes over it when it comes time to give the nomination to anyone else but her from her supporters. The idea that you can be a good candidate and a bad campaigner as they're two distinct things that have only some overlap between them shouldn't be some secret knowledge but I guess it's sexist if a woman does it and you won't pretend not to notice it as a voter? Or something...
