Beirut, Lebanon (CNN)

A large explosion rocked the Lebanese capital Beirut on Tuesday, damaging buildings and offices around the city.
The source of the explosion was a major fire at a warehouse for firecrackers near the port in Beirut, the state-run National News Agency reported.
A red cloud hung over the city in the wake of the blast as firefighting teams rushed to the scene to try to put out the fire.
Local news reported multiple people were wounded in the incident.
This is a breaking story, more to follow.

Attaching all of the videos I grabbed from this guys twitter just now as well, here's one of them:

Here are some links to other posts in the thread with more content, you may need to go to the posts directly to see the media:

Couple more angles of the explosions, seems everyone in Beirut holds their phone vertically. Buckle up for a very delayed boom in the second video.

Here's a different angle. Notice how the guys recording it say "Allahu Akbar".

EDIT: Direct embed

Found this slowmo of the explosion in which you can see the fireball and airblast more clearly

I think this is just a slowed down version of this that I grabbed from twitter (https://twitter.com/saadmohseni/status/1290678176574779395):

Also this for another, closer angle (https://twitter.com/realdavereilly/status/1290690743217119235):

And you retards thought putting it all in one place is a good idea? :story:

It was explosive sodium nitrate holy shit

What remains of the dock:

There’s a radiation spike picked up near Italy/scicily. Let me try to archive this or take a screenshot

I know that there are several vids on here but here's a 2+ minute concatenation of multiple angles and some security camera footage of blast sites.

Translation: Preliminary security information talks about 2,700 tons of confiscated ammonia in the port exploded during the process of welding a small hole to prevent theft

If I remember correctly the Texas City explosion was the worst single event loss of firefighter lives in the US, until 9/11. It pretty much wiped out two departments. There Famously was a shiny Brand new fire truck, this was it’s first fire. They found the back half of it 5 miles away in the next county. They never found the front.
First thing I said when I saw one the videos was, "Uh, I think Beirut just got Texas City'd."

Can’t believe the US just nuked a country. Horrible times we live in. God protect our armed forces from the madman currently in the White House.

I think it was some new superweapon laser, a nuke wouldn't have made a sparkly fire before the big boom.

Probably uses the X-37B as a platform and this was done as a test run prior to getting rid of the protests in Portland.

Yeah.

Badri Daher claims sodium nitrate was the fuel for explosion. Sodium nitrate is an oxidizer not really explosive....now potassium nitrate or ammonium nitrate would def be explosive ....but this guy is head of customs for whole country. Words matter.

I’ve seen a lot of videos of the injured, and I would like to remind you all something. If you see a giant explosion in the distance... DONT STAND IN FRONT OF A WINDOW AND FILM IT. Explosions of this magnitude will turn glass into shrapnel, and im sure the surgeons will definitely choose to pick out a million shards of glass from your skin instead of triaging you and saving whoever else they can save. If you see an explosion, run. I can’t give better advice than that.
Helpful advice. Though its understandable at some times like the priest video above, he (and the video taker) probably just thought the building is just burning- since there was a rumble, then nothing. Then he ran on the sound. The one behind the camera is (probably) not so lucky since there's glass on the floor when he fell, so he is probably right next to a window when it happened. No idea how churches are down in Beirut, but churches have huge windows in general so its nearly unavoidable. Bad place at a bad time.
On other videos, then yeah. Helpful on archiving history when it happens but at the same time mostly a death sentence when shit hits the fan.

And those sparks could be generated by a large bank of switchgear racks and motor buckets...but that kind of electrical service isn't normally in a WAREHOUSE...more like industrial factory lines, aircraft hangers....uranium centrifuge arrays?
I'm talking about 1000kva electrical service or higher. The arcs are caused..because of the high capacity...the power company doesn't shut anything down with an overload because normally such a site draws massive power anyway

A Wikipedia vandal apparently has strong opinions on what happened

Per usual, I would like to state for legal purposes that I love Israel. I am sure mossad had nothing to do with that bomb, and to think otherwise might be anti-Semitic.

on the off chance this may mean another middle east bogaloo. Any hope of containing coivd is now fucked, ww1 spread the Spanish flu like wildfire. But that's isn't taking into account that the countries in question won't just go all nuke happy like Ghandi in a round of civ. We maybe heading into dangerous times soon.

There's a good chance it is just sand bogaloo. As funny as the theories are right now, the middle east is used to shit blowing up like its a normal Thursday. And with how corrupt the middle east power structure is, most of the money wont be used for genuine aid.

See Id think that if circumstances were the same as the one we started in 2001. How ever after 8 years and more of libtardism, us going to war in the sands may not go over well internationally speaking. We all know china is just chopping at the bit for ANY form of dominance over the usa on the world stage. What with the tiktok debacle, the espinoge, cultural indoctrination, waning economic influence,as well as further aggressive tension in the south China Sea, whose to say china won't take advantage of such a petty squabble? it would be a good PR move to divert attention away from the uighyur oppression, as well as give China a chance to stroke their hate boner for us all the while having the capacity to take the moral high ground.

If that's correct, 2700 tons of Ammonia Nitrate at 0.42 relative effectiveness would be 1.134 kt. More if it's tonnes and not tons.

togive some perspective. That West Texas Fertilizer plant explosion I posted a page or two back was 300 tons of Ammonium Nitrate. At 2600 tons, woof!

I think the big question here is going to be whether this is an incredibly stupid fertilizer mis-handling incident? (It is a port after all, this shit happens). Or somebody deliberately set it off. Calling it some sort of bomb is debatable since we are talking about what is likely 2600 tons of dry material that is the core component of said bomb. Not exactly portable. Strategically the only thing you are going to be able to accomplish with an explosive that large would be to blow up someplace you already control. In terms of being a useful weapon it’s on par with the Thermonuclear Hand Grenade.

Nobody is talking about this angle, but the Port of Beirut is pretty much the only major port in Lebanon. The economy in Leb was already fuckity fuck fucked, but now they have no import route.
