Also, god, cancel culture really is pathetic if that's all it takes for Joe to be racist.
I'm curious how could Chris Hackney and Allegra Clark shoot themselves in the foot hypothetically. As far as I know, Joe Zieja is the most prolific VA in 3H.
Basically, Joe shot himself with a water gun as a joke and people are crying foul. I found the "offending tweet" mildly amusing when I saw it and moved on.

Obviously he's capitalizing on his relatively new popularity, but it's too on the nose. Just look at the titles of his videos on YT.
Or, let me guess, no one wanted to see Shamir with a couple bags under her eyes and paler hair color?
Her, Catherine, and Alois should at least look battleworn. They spent, what, 5 years searching for Rhea in a battle-scarred Fodlan yet they look fine. Post time skip Seteth and Flayn should have had their own version of the Rhea->Seiros design, that would have been nice to see. Hanneman I get not changing, you can't age a person in their 60s in an anime game.

So I decided to download Heroes.

What exactly do you...do? Aside from the standard FE stuff I mean.

Honestly, FEH is a massive time-waster. At least in the mainline games, you don't need massive amounts of grinding and cash on hand just to get the right heroes to a state you need them to be. Even if you want to pull a Phonixmaster, you still have to grind and wait since AR currency takes a while to rack up.

At least that was from what I remembered. I heard they mitigated the orb spending by just giving you the banner hero after 40 pulls or something. But I also heard that they released a subscription service for extra waifu pngs for almost ten dollars. On a game that relies heavily on a gacha business model...

FEH is only good if you commute via train or bus or if you're on the shitter. Otherwise,

Yea, basically.

These are the highlights of the rewards you get. Meh. (full details)

This news came on the heels that Pokémon Sword and Shield DLC was $39.99, prompting much salt and mirth toward the salt.

Does anyone know how well the boycott is holding up for FEH pass? I know a lot of F2P find the pass insulting for obvious reasons. But I also know people are inclined to get it because their waifu got a redesign.

I shelled out for Resplendent Eliwood because favorite character in the series, so why not? For the time I have had the subscription, it makes clearing map less of hassle thanks to the turnwheel feature.

As for waifus, I haven't purchased the available resplendents (besides the Sanaki that came along through the pass). I have to say that art is an improvement. Azura is an odd one to me though; her art is gorgeous, but the smile doesn't fit on her, just in terms of how she acts in her respective game (like Sophia, for instance).

Overall, FEH continues to be the same no matter how often I leave and come back to it. Wish the dudes can actually get some good starting kits and kill the meme of being demote fodder.

Mila's art in this current era though is Lloyd tier. Christ.

Eh, agree to disagree. Maybe it's because I don't necessarily fall under the group that likes cute anime grills nevermind my profile pic. I have a lot of respect for the artist who drew her especially since the attack and special are different for each character. Plus he drew best manakete Bantu.

Now Lloyd's crack addict face on the other hand...

Is anyone annoyed that most of the characters in the church of Serios have no time-skip designs? I get Seteth and Flayn wouldn't change all that much, but it would be nice if they changed into something more discreet since they no longer have the protection of the monastery or Rhea. It just feels off-putting that all of the students are changed but not the church members.
No, I’m to busy being mad that they took away Dorothea’s Joe Joe hat. Her design really suffers as a result. The hat added so much character for whatever reason, I wished they had kept it.

Also, Sylvain’s design is weak. It barely has any color, just flat armor. Wish he got a bright red uniform in a similar style to either Lorenz of Ferdinand. Sylvain is all about the appearance, so why does his outfit lack character?

I can't help but agree, actually. I've seen some good fan designs and ideas for timeskip Church designs, though I understand why some didn't change their design much on account of already being geared up and set in their ways.

I also heard someone suggest giving Gilbert a beard and Hanneman a wizard-tier one, which I find to be a cool idea.

Never would have expected Seteth to be an hippie or for Catherine to get PTSD. Shamir kinda looks the same, though.

I can kinda see Catherine being overzealous but I don't think that's exactly the direction they went with in-game. I do like Seteth and Flayn's design.

Speaking of the two, while I do like the Nabatean designs, I don't like how every manakete in modern FE has to have green eyes and green hair. Or just retcon certain manaketes as divine dragons.

Seteth keeping his hair long is to be expected considering spoilers, and I honestly like Catherine coming out a little worse for wear over the course of the war. Rhea is very clearly Catherine's emotional crutch, she definitely seems shaken by Rhea's kidnapping/mental breakdown, and her Seteth supports make it clear that Cathy is far too aggressive in combat. As for Seteth, I like the fuller beard and more militant outfit, which definitely looks similar to a character that's famous in-story.

Fodlan dragons are a bit different than regular Manaketes, and I feel that green hair seems to be more of an identifier in this game due to the major emphasis on the Nabateans as a family (to the point that Thales outright used those traits in his rant about how Sothis ruined Agartha). As for the retcon, Duma and Mila were never really said to be dragons one way or another, but it was much easier to make them divine for the simple fact that earth dragons were explicitly all degenerated save Medeus and most other tribes were not depicted as being powerful enough to have the power suite of self-declared "Gods of Valentia". I honestly liked SOV showing degenerated Divine Dragons for a change, though it also has led to new theories regarding whether or not taking human form is the sole factor in a dragon being a Manakete and preventing degeneration.

Still, I think they could have been a little more original with their color palette. For instance, Cichol, Cethlenn, and Indech are based on Fomorians which are creatures that have some sort of association with water. They could have given a more aquatic-like appearance.

I disagree with your view on dragons though. Loptyr is stated to be an earth dragon who somehow had enough mental capacity to create a blood pact with a human. Both on a gameplay and on a narrative level, Loptyr is said to be so powerful that he's only rivaled by Naga. There's also the dragons that came into Jugdral who managed to create superhumans with their own blood. To me at least, I don't really have a hard time believing that non-divine dragons can be considered 'godlike' in human perception. (probably why I got Mila and Duma mixed-up as manaketes) I just don't see why divine dragons have to take the roles of 'gods' in Fire Emblem.

A little nitpicky, but it bugs me that one of the Valentian gods is literally called the Earth Mother.

Perhaps it's more of an appearance and feat-based thing. Mila and Duma shaped the continent with former passionately supporting her side's people to the point where they actively venerated her (Mila Shrines and a large temple where she lived among the many clerics there).

The FE4 dragons dropped in to a soon to be lost battle and gave their blood to turn the tides.

I just figure that Mila (and Duma) did more in terms of the series' history, akin to Anankos (that's another story), his powers, and his kingdom.

It's a fun series. I like the waifus but that's also probably polluted the fanbase. Not the greatest mind for strategy so I'm basically a johnny come lately to it all.
What are some good entries that are reasonably easy to emulate?

Pretty much the GBA games. I would not recommend playing Binding Blade first as it's pretty rough around the edges and you need to patch it unless you know Japanese. Both FE7 and FE8 are pretty good games to get into the series.

The waifuism in Fire Emblem is pretty cringe, granted, that's almost a given for a lot of fanbases. The way the fanbase treats the male and female avatars is mildly amusing considering they're the same character.

I do wonder how characters like Edelgard and Rhea would be received if they were dudes. Or even how Cyril would be received if he was a grill.
