Eh, he deserves it. Beyond the archaic games in the series, I'm pretty sure Excel's "beaten" Fire Emblem for what it is as a series.

I've stopped watching Mangs since the cancelation because I was scared on what was going on the time, reading this thread actually made me genuinely happy. Not only because I felt... "relieved"? on what really happened, but seeing Mangs comeback after being betrayed like that with a wife, a job, a new community with AW and a semi-successful youtube carrier, it just felt nice, you know?

Even after 4 years, Mangs youtube videos are still one of the best, and it's not even funny.

I watched Mekkah's playthrough of Echoes with Excel back in the day, and while I enjoyed it somewhat... it wasn't the same. Mangs has the humor and gameplay of a manchild, but dang me, it's a good and hilarious manchild. (His FE7 Playthrough is what turned me into a FE fan, and nothing will surpass that one clip of Bartre criting himself with a Devil Axe.)

Speaking of good playthroughs, I also recommend watching Deltre's Conquest Lunatic and Heroes of Shadow and Light Lunatic Reverse let's plays. It's a mix of optimal play with zaniness that makes it very unique in my eyes (We love LaSLOW and Malice in our highest difficulties.)

He's legit the best, and it saddens me that he decided to come back for a while and then disappear for another 3 years. Oh well, better be remembered as the king of FE playthroughs (even though most of them are unfinished at this point) rather than an idiot.

Yeah, I am rewatching some of his old content and it definitely holds up for me.
I believe the reason Mekkah and him had such a good chemistry at least for me is that Mekkah would basically lambast him for his stupid plays all the time and speak my mind.

That brings me to today though, like I said I am rewatching his FE4 Ranked Run Let's Play but while I was watching that he started streaming so I switched over.
It was an FE6 draft race with a bunch of new faces, PH, Donlot and Fire Embros and I can't help but feel their chemistry isn't really there at all or at least I don't like it as much.

There is a clear age gap between Mangs and these jokers and what's more an imbalance in power? It's clear Mangs is the head honcho in this group and when he speaks they listen and I never really got that impression with Mekkah and him.

It also doesn't help that PH is french and his accent and jokes are super grating, for the entire two streams of that draft race he had one joke he made over and over again about how his Dieck is small. Dieck of course being one of the units he drafted who didn't level up too well.

Then on the AW side of things there is Deejus and he can be a bit much though he has a lot of positive energy and I think they got a nice dynamic.

I don't know, maybe i'll warm up to these people Mangs is now surrounding himself with.

I'll just post a video of Mekkah's here now, wonder why he hasnt taken all his Mangs content down yet hmmmm

Mekkah on his own is just too dry and boring. He needed memey Mangs to really pop off and play off.

About the new Mangs gang I keep to the videos where he's solo but Donlot is alright. PH is grating but he wasn't so bad in the dungeon streams, he was probably concentrating on winning the race too hard to be funny. I'm going more off the big Mangs Dungeon events, though, which is probably them at their best and with a deliberately funny game to riff off of.

It's funny seeing Mangs make jokes that Mekkah and "friends" would now throw a fit over, Mangs is still the same silly guy but he seems to have a attracted a new more para social audience that effected his streams for the worse. It really feels like he's started to cater to a more zoomer-ish audience. PH from what I've seen is the one who shows the most backbone and still occasionally pokes fun at Mangs or his plays.

Things have definitely changed but I wouldn't call his interactions with his chat parasocial necessarily.
Mangs does not have a public discord, he is not on xitter or anywhere else where he can directly interact with his fans.

The only way through which his fans can interact with him are youtube comments, E-Mails and the live chat.

I've watched a lot of his stream mostly on the side and whenever he interacts with chat it seemed relevant to what was currently happening, be it a funny quip, a question or just a neat fact.

This just seems like normal, good streamer behavior unless you consider every streamer that interacts with chat to be a parasocial relationship.

It is clear that money is very important to him now, he makes no secret of it.
He is now the main provider for him and his wife and plans to have a family, he made lots of comments about donations going to his future kid's college fund and similar things.
I suppose he has become more open about his personal life and goals now than he used to be.

He does seem to be a little more trepidatious about some jokes, like he completely ignores any and all gender things and even told PH to keep it cool with racist jokes a few times.

PH from what I've seen is the one who shows the most backbone and still occasionally pokes fun at Mangs or his plays.

I too have noticed that his new guests are rather toady for lack of a better word. Mangs looks to be the head honcho of his gang and when he speaks they listen.
I'll pay more attention to their dynamic next time I watch

Are there any games like Fire Emblem that have a characterizing matchmaker mechanic but aren't a dating sim? I love FEs 3 to 11 and 15, but hate hate HATE what the My Units have done to this franchise.

I think Utawarerumono has something like that with its chain attack mechanic.

Super Robot Wars GC on the gamecube had a variant of the series' relationship mechanic where if you had pilots fighting next to each other they would gradually build up a friendship and this variant of it was never used anywhere else and the normal version became relatively obscure and practically unused as the series went on. GC is also cursed as it's a game where you can have the 15 year old version of Amuro Ray from the One Year War, the original Gundam series, pilot the Nu Gundam he would pilot when he was like 29 years old in Char's Counterattack but it is also one of the few entries in the series to have the Shin Getter Robo vs Neo Getter Robo OVA.
 
The Direct tomorrow is like now or never for the FE 4 remake. Presumably if it’s not shown tomorrow the leaks about it were fake or the project was cancelled.

The only outright confirmation for it not happening is if they remake something like FE6 since the new cope could always be that it’s on Switch 2

The leak said it was being made for switch. Everyone thought the leak was legit since it had good engage info.

I guess they could have pushed it to switch 2 but it doesn’t seem likely. Though obviously I’m just some faggot on the internet so who knows.

I was personally always kind of a doubter but I’ll be happy to be proven wrong.

Still seems really weird to me that Engage put Sigurd front and center of the previous lords if there was no plans to redo Genealogy. He was nearly more important than even Marth!

Considering that Nintendo outright said they aren't saying shit about the Switch 2 tomorrow tells me it's a lot further off than people want to admit.
