To be fair,Rhea did keep things from going COMPLETELY to Hell.

It isn't perfect but compared to the events that lead to Rhea being more or less the de facto ruler of Fodlan.
Meh I would disagree. She let members of Those who Slither in the Dark infiltrate her own Church and failed to discover them until they reveled themselves. Also she knew that this group existed for a very long time and chose to not try and destroy them even though she had the resources to wage war against them. If she would've actually tried to do her job and take out this group that clearly hates Fodlan and all the people in it there's a descent chance Edelgard wouldn't have been able to rebel as efficiently.

Rhea is a really boring character imo. Letting the Slitherers enter her Church but us being assured, if we pay close attention to the Lore, that she was actually doing a lot of good stuff behind the scenes and in her backstory makes for a tedious presence. Not because she “shouldn’t have been tricked like that” but because it represents a missed opportunity to make her an active character.

Because anyone can write a character like that, who is highly reactive but has a backstory to make them “factually” important. In fact it’s basically its own trope to have a very powerful but practically useless avatar of good like her. In Dragon Quest it was the Zenith Dragon but at least he flew you around in one game. In Tears of the Kingdom it’s Rauru and Sonia. Etc.

Edelgard is bad but is at least compelling (at times). Hence the divisive response to her. The only options, if you pretend 3Houses writing is super coherent is to either be wholly dismissive or wholly deferential to her. Anything more balanced runs into the fact she doesn’t really go the distance. Which is why I will have to remind you all of how rude you were to me when I never said anything wrong

I honestly just reread the last few pages of the thread and you guys were slagging me off without actually presenting a solid case. It was just an attempt at social pressure, which is why you’re slaves to Social History instead of Great Man History (which Edelgard is trying to capture, given the references to Napoleon who was the ur-great-man).

Also the movie isn’t good. Don’t see it.

Does not help that she doesn’t have a bigger role in Silver Snow as a “main lord” outside of you having to rescue her (and to fight her in her Immaculate One state), But I disagree about her not being an active character. She doesn’t back down when push comes to shove.

Heroes isn't something that I'm keeping track of. But so far, I mostly see people complaining about gender ratios, certain characters getting featured, and that the devs are somehow running out of content. But I'm not sure if the devs had actually dived into Engage, yet.

Rhea should have nuked them for giving their organization a shitty anime-tier name.

To this day, I’m still not sure between Silver Snow and Verdant Wind which feels more tacked on. Them being basically the same goddamn route doesn’t help, and I’ll still argue that the final battles of those respective routes should’ve been switched.
It always has to circle back to Three Houses, huh?
In fairness, there’d probably be discussions about Engage if Engage wasn’t complete ass. I can forgive a lot if a story is Good, but Engage didn’t even have that going for it.

Not in awakening
Not even older Tiki?

So I picked up Heroes since I stopped playing it three years ago by now. Which made me think, how many people are going to be on suicide watch when this game inevitably shuts down? From what I can tell the whales haven't stopped pouring money and it seems like the game seems to be getting desperate with making you play it.
The game was already desperate with making people play it when I dropped it years ago (sometime either early on or midway into the book about the dead/undead people as the antagonists). I can only assume it's quadrupled down on that since then.

Hell, I know one of the other things that made me drop it was how retarded meta and skill bloat were getting, and I at least know for a fact that's gotten progressively worse over time.

I think the main reason I have more positive opinion of Silver Snow is that it was my first route, and I felt it was a great one to introduce what was going on in the school/war and having the conflict of fighting against Edelgard and Hubert, former students. If I didn't play it first, it probably wouldn't have been as impactful for me, given I'd know what was coming. As for Verdant Wind, it didn't even get its own animation after defeating Edelgard, and the reused one from SS didn't fit well.

Good point on the final battle switch. I agree that it would have fit better if switched.

I like it personally, but as always, the freaks who shell out money for orbs are a different breed.

What still gets me is Claude doesn’t even have ties to Nemesis. Even in Three Hopes, he still gets the Black Eagles’s sloppy seconds

Hubertchads stay winning!
