BlackBraGirl's exhibiting cow potential.

In case you missed it, he fell for a phishing scam a few weeks back and temporarily lost his yt. He got sympathies then lost all by crying about finding out about Mangs was more shocking to him than losing his living.

I swear. Mekkah has been losing subs of late. Am I the only one who noticed a plateau to drop in channel growth?

I think its steadily growing just at a much slower rate than a few years prior.
The mix of cutting ties with Mangs and Engage seemingly not drawing that many new players in seems to have stagnated his channel growth a lot.

Yeah. You can say that Mangs HARD CARRIED his channel.
Mangs and Mekkah were the typical straight man and comic relief duo, it worked quite well and was probably the best dynamic at the time within this space. Even today I think that holds true if you can ignore the current age tension between the two and look back at their lets plays together vs every other duo.

I do think a lot of Mangs' solo stuff is not really that good because he himself doesn't have a straight man for his antics which are sometimes frustratingly bad at points without editing, but Mekkah is incredibly boring without someone more interesting to talk to. He's just too damn dry by himself and the people I've seen him bring on aren't that great at complimenting him.

Mekkah also isn't that good at newer Fire Emblem games, his knowledge peaks with FE5 iirc, to be a very informative source either for a lot of newer games. So he can't coast on game knowledge either. Just watch him try to talk about anything in the last ten years and he just sounds lost unless he brings someone more knowledgeable or he's talking about someone so obviously good like Ryoma or CQ Camilla. You can really see this when he talks about 3H.

For some reason, nearly all of the major FE channels are like that. Sure Excelemblem is funny whenever something goes horrifically wrong, but other than that, he's kind of boring.
His step by step video series have an excellent formula but he has so little charisma and the whole "Marth kills his friends" joke has run its course long ago.

For one reason or another, I'm getting the vibe that most of the main content creators are actually autists. Like, they're capable of spending an lot of time doing the impossible in the anime chess simulator; but an lot of them are kind of boring to actually leave on as background noise.

And the Advance Wars wiki is currently being held hostage over that incident from 2019 because the main admin still fucking hates Mangs

Excelblem has some decent jokes occasionally and he's good enough at editing to make them shine, but a lot of his stuff also just ends up being "whoa holy shit this retard gave me $100 to inconvenience me. oh my god he did it again, what the!!!" That disgusts me, but he at least seems good at the games and like he enjoys them, particularly Engage, who Mekkah and Mangs only seemed to bother with out of obligation more than anything else. All of their streams are unwatchable circlejerks too, regardless of how fun it is or isn't to watch someone play Fire Emblem.

why the fuck would a wiki endorse an eceleb in the first place let alone need a manifesto justifying why they won't do it? what the absolute fuck am i looking at

Excelblem I think is fine in his short video/compliation format, but I can't fathom watching someone do all the slow burn exploits he does cap levels like when he spammed Framme's chain guard in chapter 4 to get her to 20 actually be done live on stream. He does have runs where he doesn't just kill his own units for money. His FE11 and 12 runs were not KMUs but legitimate scuffed ironmans, and I believe he ironmanned all of Fates too. He also did Sacred Stones with 0 strength which was one hell of a trip to say the least.

He also did 3H as a Byleth solo by the last half of the game and did all the KMU stuff by the time skip, which despite him spamming his way to level 99 with minimal exp gains he managed to beat that run in 40 or so hours because he didn't do any tutoring or shit because he killed his units. Which is extremely funny and sad how his run is about standard for a 3H run despite him spam grinding, but because he didn't tutor he beat the game as fast as anyone else.

Mangs to my knowledge did like Engage for the most part, I have no idea with Mekkah, I couldn't get a good read on his perception the few times I watched him play it he just seemed lost as usual with new Fire Emblem just like he was in Conquest. Neither really played maddening really either, well Mangs did a maddening ironman and lost everyone except Louis in chapter 5.

I don't find any FE let's play interesting. Dumb reactions over RNG and misplays is entertaining for teens at best. These are singleplayer games with a lot of dialogue. Tier lists are pointless. Unit analyses are sort of pointless in their own right too due to the design philosophy of making the game beatable with whoever your favorites be (disregarding unbalanced aka "hard" modes).

It's almost like none of these people are smart and special at all. Hmm.

The latest installment of some random autist who's on an crusade to whine about his personal life as he shits himself and do nothing about it

It's ironic that the biggest stalker is in charge of the wikia and it's the top search result. Juigi was tolerated for a way longer time than he deserved. Constantly starting shit, spamming tl;dr rants in the subreddit, calling some girl a cheap whore who tried to help fix his problem, obsessing over some user from the ancient AWBW forums. He finally got the ban hammer when he tried to dox some pvp'er.

I mean depending on what you define as pointless all video game discussion is pointless, its just for fun and no one should take it seriously. We're playing a video game that is a really fancy but very complicated excel spreadsheet at the end of the day. It even comes with an optional story that is usually just pretty okay in the majority of games.

I'd say that the vast majority of hard modes are fine in FE (most the really obnoxious ones are JP only like FE9 Maniac or FE12 with its crazy stat caps) and you can use pretty much anyone if you favor them, even god awful units like Gwendolyn, Nino, Amelia, FE9 Rolf, Meg, and so on can do stuff in their respective hard modes if you go out of your way for them. Its cumbersome but you can do it. This is even ignoring player altered challenges like 0% growth runs making it so with enough jank you can clear pretty much any game.

Walkthroughs/strategy guides in general aren't pointless if a game is difficult or makes it unclear how to progress (doesn't apply to FE). Guides for unexplained important mechanics are also useful (applies to FE games).

Disagree.

It technically does matter in terms of initial stats and growth rates; but only an turbosperg would cite an character's maximum stats in an game that doesn't feature infinite grinding.

I personally I wouldn't call that discussion most of the time, it is more like reading a textbook on how2beat the video game. You aren't exactly getting into a discussion with anyone when you read a guide, unless you're discussing how to make the guide as a collaborative effort with someone else, then sure I suppose I'd give you that. The discussion kind of begins and ends on publishing it somewhere unless you're actively answering questions to your readers.

A discussion to me has to involve people actually talking about something in some kind of constant back and forth. I'm not really having a back and forth with anyone when I read a gamefaqs guide. I'm effectively reading a textbook or listening to a lecture on how to play a video game at that point if it isn't in a text format.

It matters if you want to get into the nitty gritty and discuss who the best units are using whatever parameters you want, but when you can beat these games with suboptimal strategies then the value of knowing this information only matters based on subjective preferences. For some people Paladin movement barely matters at all because they're fine going slowly through maps, for some people movement is the most important stat in Fire Emblem. It really depends on what you care about. Do you care if the game is easier running the best units? You might, or you just want to use your favorite units so the discussion is worthless to you.

I love discussing unit viability and all that, but I'm not going to act like I can't just beat the game using trash units either if I want to try that hard. So it is just a matter of preference to me. People win FE with trash units and get completely confused why people say they're bad at all the time. That's why people defended units like Nino or Lyn for years back in early age discussion around FE7 while unironically claiming Marcus is a liability. In the end we're all arguing about mostly irrelevant math, and as long as we have fun then I don't see the problem.

I think the reason why Mangs continues to grow while Mekkah still kind of flounders in obscurity is that Mangs is able to put forward a much more genuine personality, Mekkah was always a bit of a charisma vacuum. Even when the two of them spent years playing together, you always got the sense that Mekkah was holding something back, probably because he didn't want to go too far with his jokes and become unsalvageable in the eyes of the Redditors he associated with.

The fags at LoversLab deleted it too. Now it's only (as far as I know) on this forum.
its not even an adult mod..

This is why Diablo will always have its own niche. No other series even attempts any replayability like nephalim rifts and secret dungeons anymore.
