Yeah, I'm not a fan of Misty Lee as Camilla. She gives Camilla this really light, airy sort of tone that doesn't really mesh with Camilla's more mature, femme fatale kinda design.
Etie is fucked by localization, the idea is she looks like a prime and proper maiden but she talks informal iirc, but they couldn't do that for some reason so they made her a meat head muscle bro except girl. That's why she's dressed like that yet talks about pumping iron and getting swole.
Soren and Ike are long time friends, Soren is an orphan and an outcast in a very racially charged society for being mixed race. In Tellius' treatment of mixed race people, half the races pretty much silently ignore you like you don't even exist and the other half presume you're some monster and throw you out of their village. So Ike being Soren's friend, because Ike is isolated from all the racially charged discourse until he's a young man, Soren is loyal despite him being a pessimistic asshole. He's also a racist himself, but that goes down as the story goes.
Ike is pretty much the one person Soren actually likes because of his upbringing, that's why he wants to be by his side. He respects the rest of his group, for the most part, but he actually likes Ike.
Soren X Ike shipping is just shippers taking a very touching and pretty reasonable platonic friendship and making it homo.
They’re the same size. It’s just that Camilla’s boobs are not quite as big in the way you guys think. Dr. Berrakh will explain.
Don’t get me wrong. They are big. But the reason they appear massive is because Camilla is much taller than almost every other girl in fates. A portrait takes that away and so they lose a lot of their significance. Proportionately they’re only well-above average.
Three Houses has the opposite problem where people think Hilda is the big titty vixen among the girls while having a smaller chest than Dorothea (who is like a head taller than her). Because Hilda has a slightly larger modifier, all else being equal. She also has zero ass funnily enough.
I've finally finished Fire Emblem Engage (on Hard & Classic mode). It frankly was a fun game overall and I enjoyed it very much besides the final boss that was more of a chore because of the shield gimmick from its second phase. I had to get dirty with a rather cheap tactic: General Louis was strong enough to chip away Sombre's health bar in spite of the shield, with a A-rank heavy lance (15HP per turn, 20HP when poisoned by Yunaka), all while receiving no damage from the melee retaliations. Coupled with Sigurd emblem to do a hit-and-runs, Louis would stay away from the range of magic spells after attacking. Meanwhile, the rest of my troops were simply dealing with the wyvern/general/monk reinforcements from the first batch of dark emblems in the north, west & south-east of the map.
I've grown quite attached to the cast of characters, although playing in moonrunes sure does give a different experience compared to the official TLs I've seen. My favorites were Kagetsu, Zerukoba, Ivy, Diamand, Celine, Merin, Yunaka and Chloe. Ryuuru as the female MC was nice too, I enjoyed her support bits where she was rather thoughtful with her peers.
My personal nitpick would be that non-lord characters, besides Vander, are given no appearance in story cutscenes beyond the level where they were originally introduced.
The story itself was a bit iffy at times, such as the prologue chapter having no relation to the plot after all or the last chapters getting a bit high on the melodrama. I got blueballed on Edgelord MC being introduced in an early story cutscene as a dream sequence, or in the opening intro, only to reveal herself as a hyper-autistic robotic person during distorted space-time shenanigans. It's no big deal to me in the end because the story was just an excuse to serve the gameplay but I felt a bunch of things were overlooked or writers went lazy.
Speaking of gameplay, it was cool to have a large array of weapon/class/skill customization for my army. Some characters were defintiely stronger than others but I feel like it was possible to put forward personal favorites with the help of engravings, weapon upgrades, emblem skills and changing classes to fit better the character and its stat growths. Anna, for example, had strong Magic stat growth initially despite her initial Axe class so I later made her a mage unit. Some Emblem skills like Lucina's Dual Assist (especially coupled with a Thief unit to easily inflict poison) were busted. The game was still challenging for a first-timer, specifically when trying to keep everyone alive.
The BGM was top-notch. Especially the music for the desert levels, the cathedral, the four hounds or the remixes for the emblem trials, but I don't think there was any track I particularly disliked or found annoying.
The Divine Dragon Ryuuru accessioned to the throne as the Divine Queen Dragon. With her strong bonds to leaders and friends from every country, she guided a long-lasting peace in the continent of Eleos. Soon after the battle, her partner Ivy became the Queen of Irushion. She puts all efforts in restoring her country with the help of the Divine Dragon Queen. It is said that their intimate relationship was approved by the folks and became the root of the faith in the Divine Dragon (in Irushion).
No paired endings between other characters is a shame.
And the rest of the monster squad that carried my playthrough. I wonder how well they would perform on a Lunatic run but that'll be for another time.
I'll be doing Three Houses soon enough, followed by its musou spinoff.
Glad you had fun and I hope you enjoy Three Houses. Best of luck to you if you try Lunatic Engage, my most general advice is really really care about your speed stat in Lunatic or you're going to get cooked. Getting doubled is a huge liability in every Fire Emblem's hardest mode, and slow units rarely do well. Engage luckily has Wrath Vantage to give high strength low speed characters like Panette and Amber something to do. Also endgame physical attack is like 50+ so you can't really tank as anyone especially if you're getting doubled (unless you're engaged with Ike/Hector to inflate your defensive stats), and mages are also vicious too especially if they double you.
My warning for 3Hs is that their hard mode is a good bit easier then Engage's hard mode, imo as an experienced FE player, but the hardest mode is insane as fuck in 3H due to how overinflated the early game is stats wise so I would not recommend it. Some people have legit gotten effectively soft locked at the midgame on lunatic 3H because it has a section like chapter 10 > 11 where you're just kind of stuck playing through two chapters back to back with no prep but it is much harder overall and your units are uniquely distributed to say the least.
Three Houses has the opposite problem where people think Hilda is the big titty vixen among the girls while having a smaller chest than Dorothea (who is like a head taller than her). Because Hilda has a slightly larger modifier, all else being equal. She also has zero ass funnily enough.
Just wondering
if Fire Emblem and Nintendo can take action on its localizer for removing content in dialogue cos the localizer's employee felt the need to push their poilitical views?
or if players can do anything so that we can get the real dialogues for characters
instead of the trilogy games Birthright/Conquest and Revelations going "..." for an entire interaction.
cos "Talk of death and war" in a War game = Too violent and bad.
