I dunno, making Ferdinand Empire-exclusive makes me a very unhappy man. I get he's a patriot, but refusing to side with the aggressor in a war of conquest feels more like Ferdinand to me.
Ferdinand and Felix are probably the most interesting turncoats because they have enough reason to go either way for their own personal reasons that don't involve sucking Byleth's figurative or literal cock. Leonie I guess can work because Jeralt, but I felt Felix and Ferdinand had the most worthwhile exits out of the entire cast while also having a reason to stay as Ferdinand wants to steer Edelgard right like a nicer version of Hubert and Felix has a complicated relationship with Dimitri where he can either love or hate him depending on the day.

Everyone else has so little care for this war overall that all they can default to is going to find Byleth then anything actual worthwhile for them. I think Sylvian had maybe one bit of dialogue somewhere after Dimitri keels over in one of the route where he explains why he left, but the plot pretty much forgets Sylvian exists after we kill his brother so w/e.

I saw a few big flashy (I think?) cutscenes of 3 Copes and I just don't care about this plot anymore after playing it so damn much, also 3 Copes' cutscenes look really stiff to me. It is like everyone has a only somewhat bendable pole shoved up their ass so everyone moves like a walking plastic coat rack.

Mark my words, I despise the “everyone has a reason to side with the Empire” takes people make in order to justify moral individuals throwing away their principles in Crimson Flower, most of which come down to “Muh Crest System.” Maybe some characters would be willing to side with the Empire for political or personal reasons, but characters like Ingrid, Mercedes, and Marianne are too devoted to Faerghus or too religious to willingly take up arms against either.

That said, I still feel that Lorenz has a good reason to switch sides in all routes: he sides with the Empire based on his father's belief that resisting would be devastating in all non-Wind routes, but can be convinced to push his father to seek peace with Claude's faction of the Alliance when Byleth's army takes the Great Bridge, having a firsthand demonstration that there is a way to fight the Empire as a unified force. He also has enough tension with Claude to make it reasonable not to side directly with him if the two didn't become as tightly-connected as they do in Verdant Wind.

If the Church was better portrayed as compromised then they are in the actual game I could see the likes of Mercedes and Marianne going as it is like a betrayal of their faith, but Ingrid is the hardest stretch of those three due to her attachment to Dimitri. Maybe if Felix and Sylvian joined at the same time, but again Sylvian doesn't exist after chapter 6 pretty much so whatever (Though Crimson Flower Sylvian is fine, the other two don't work). Muh Crest System is fucked, or implied to be fucked, but it is so limitedly explained we have Sylvian and that's mostly it outside of maybe a few supports here and there. You got some experiment stuff, but that's more aligned with mole people bullshit so I don't fully count that except that it is obviously one of Edelgard's most driving forces.

I frankly forgot Lorenz existed because he's even more ignored then Sylvian and I haven't touched 3H since the Maddening update came out and I gave up trying to play that mode, which remembering him annoys me now that I remember. I unironically liked Lorenz beyond his goofy hair as I found him interesting, but point taken nonetheless.

Well, they have an obligation to support the current narrative, lest they get torn an new one by their patrons. Remember when people kept prodding Nintendo's Twitter for their solidarity on BLM?
It's a fangame, and they pinned it while telling pro-life fans to eat shit and leave the server for thinking a political pin was in bad taste. Sounds like it was fully a personal freakout over anything else.

The only character there I could argue might side with the Empire is Mercedes, but that’s entirely due to the whole “Jeritza is her Brother” plot point that went exactly nowhere outside a Paralogue she shares with fucking Caspar of all characters.

At least they got a support for Jeritza when he was added to the game - I legitimately forget Anna is recruitable, mostly because she has nothing to add to her character.

-Acknowledges that it's "escapist fun times"
-"I know, I'll shit it up by injecting real life shit into our escapism!"

Do these fuckers never learn? Seems every developer pulls this shit. Even Old School Runescape's been going through this recently...

How are Mercedes, Constance, Rhea, Hapi, Anna, Marriane, and Ingrid?
You'll have a bit of a hard time getting started with them if you didn't learn Lana's playstyle with her magic tomes in Hyrule Warriors.

Honest question then - is it worth grabbing now, or should I just wait and see if it goes cheap? There honestly isn’t much good looking coming out this year anyway, so I’m debating it.
Imo it's not worth spending 60 bucks on it now. If possible, emulate it. It's what I'm doing.

Wish he would just release the game and the engine.

Fe 7x is such a great fan game.

The drunk fog of war chapter and the chase chapter just after are incredible.

Sothis: "It is quite clear that you cannot my power safely wield. Do I speak plain?"

Byleth: "Not in the slightest."

Finally Byleth and I agree on something, wtf is this line? I also don't recall Sothis talking this archaic or as this much of a bitch in 3 Houses, what the fuck happened?

Also that cutscene battle looked like shit, it is like they put the stiff battle animations from 3 houses and just fiddled with the camera to make it look cooler.
