Advance Wars Re-Boot Camp delay and my thoughts (embedding disabled lol)

tl;dw battalion wars, ignorantly rants about ukraine war, the Mangs Empire sycophants

calling him out on the get raped horribly thing is now hypocrisy and everyone's a rape apologist
It impresses me that they're willing to call ME a hypocrite just for calling out Mangs for various nastiness. Sorry, Mangs Empire sycophants, but I don't rape people. I'd rather any ladies in my life be consistently happy and warm, not some cheap puppets like what Mangs wants, all on HIS own by the way unless you wish to tell me he could use stream monsters as an excuse for what he did to Goosaphone at a cross-country convention. Nice to see the hypocrisy insinuations in my direction, though, when it shows how you, Mangs Empire sycophants, will NEVER care, how you will believe anything no matter how asinine if it means trying to shut me up so that you can go back to being rape apoligists.

The guy still haven't answered the Rape Question and is deflecting the same way as Daman Mills against Vic and Dillin Thomas when you ask about his Grindr account.

I don't know man, just about anyone can develop an savior complex after watching the pope placing several gag orders on people. Who wouldn't feel uncomfortable about being told to ignore the fact that your family heirlooms can mutate people into an giant monster?
I think Edelgard's thing is she has the will and means to do something while not falling into a sense of learned helplessness and apathy like someone such as Sylvian did. Edelgard is "strong" because she had the will to push for change and risk everything to do so, at least that is the implication I get from Edelgard. The writing is too shoddy and vague, so it is hard to feel for her sometimes unless you purposefully fill in the dots (like many hardcore Edelgard stans did back in the ye old days), plus the way she talks outside of her route comes off like she's literally Hitler alongside her relationship with the mole people which is badly explained why she sided with them considering how much they did to her.

Especially considering Edelgard's implied (assuming she's the exact same as Lystheia) short life span meaning she doesn't have to deal with this shit for very long anyway and it is easier to just do nothing or even just commit suicide if you really hate it. To me it is very easy for someone in Edelgard's position to just give in and take it, die young, and just let everyone else deal with this shit world.

I want to like Edelgard's character, and she might be my favorite of the 3 lords because she's at least fairly interesting unlike Claude and I find Dimitri's recovery arc is too rushed for my liking that it kind of kills his route for me, but she is just badly handled and the game does a piss poor job of even attempting to make the audience understand or even like her outside of her own route and maybe at the tail end of Blue Lions when she dies (though that scene looks really petty in a vacuum).

I'm playing through Three Houses right now on yuzu. On chapter six. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of any single aspect of the game... yet it all coalesces into something entertaining.

I went with the Black Eagles house. It was a toss up between them and Golden Deer but I've always heard that the latter's path felt undercooked compared to the others. Nothing about Blue Lions interested me at all and still doesn't, outside of Ingrid. Not sure which waifu I'll go with but Linhardt's been my only bro. Really glad they went with him for the 2nd Black Eagle character in the side story DLC rather than Hubert. Speaking of him, I kinda feel like I'm NTR'ing the guy if I go for Edelgard.

As for the Ashen Wolves DLC, it was... eh. I liked the new characters well enough but the whole "oh, yeah, there's an entire settlement underneath Garreg Mach and there's also a secret fourth house living down there, too." felt goofy and nonsensical. The actual plot involving Aelfric was interesting but felt incredibly rushed, you're never given a chance to react or absorb anything; the guy is attempting to resurrect your dead mom and nobody seems to really care, least of all the MC. Lady Rhea going, "Oh, yeah, I gave your mom a fake funeral so I could hide her body elsewhere so that I could visit her from time to time" was especially wtf-worthy.

Not sure if I'll stick with Edelgard or not when the time comes. I probably will, I like her and all the other characters I like seem to stick with you if you go her route, although Edelgard's support convos seem unfortunately neutered given that they cheaped out and re-used the dialogue for both genders of MC.

So, what’s the problem with Fates? I’m a newcomer to Fire Emblem (played only Three Houses and would like to try out more) and I heard that that one wasn’t very good. Anybody on here played it before?

The game has 3 path.
Revelation is trash..
Birthright is more like fe 8 in term of difficulty and design.
Conquest has great gameplay and map design and is a bit on the harder side.

The story is shit and most characters are one dimentional. Corrin is just as bad as byleth.

Start with Birthright and then go Conquest.

The writing is poor. Plot varies from generic to nonsensical and characters vary in quality (to be fair, that's the case for most FE's but it feels worse now every character has tons of supports)
A lot of hate comes from the butcherjob of a localization, done at the height of Treehouse's bollocks, which didnt help endear people to look beyond the flaws.
It is fun to play though

So like with Three Houses with the three classes thing?

How’s Revelation bad? Not that I won’t take this in mind. Just curious.

I’m pretty neutral on Byleth but I’ve heard Corrin was pretty crappy in Fates.

@Shining Wit I’ve heard a little bit about the localization thing. Didn’t hear about the tons of support (given that Corrin/forced avatar mcs tend to be a sex magnet, I’m not surprised), though. Three Houses made me aware of the support levels and I’m just “eh”. Can’t imagine how cringy it probably is in Fates.

Still considering to get it just for the experience, I suppose. Or is Awakening any better? Only have a Switch and a 3DS. And I’m not sure if the others are available for me to try out.

The support issue is less about Corrin, more general. Because they have to write supports for so many units, many are bland. Fewer but more deep ones are better and let characters have more intresting interactions. Annoyingly some of them are hidden behind shit like DLC. For instance, if you marry Laslow to Peri (who is honestly more villainous than most of the enemies) she has a great bit of dialogue with her daughter expressing how she is concerned she'll grow up into a murderous psycho like her.

Awakening is more of the same than Fates. Its a bit better written, but its nothing amazing and the gameplay isnt as tight as Fates

Jesus, how many units are there?

Aw, that stinks. I just wanted to play Awakening because Chrom appeals to me in the same way Dimitri (and Edelgard to a lesser extent) did in TH. Helps that he's fun to play as in Smash, too.

@NerdShamer Shit, if I can find a copy. Doubt I'm able to get in time before the eShop closes.

Tell me when it happens ty
Triangle Strategy:
Okay so I am halfway done with my second run and the game still holds up.
There's a lot of diverging path.
New game plus seems balanced, since the ennemies scale with you.
Speaking of scaling, the exp gains are scaled with the map level so can't overlevel and you catch up quickly.
Hard mode is more punishing and ennemies are bulkier and stronger I don't suggest it on a first run.
Turtlling is really strong (spamming archer, traps and mages). I wish they had more hard/soft time limits on maps.
The verticality and design of maps makes them more interresting than most t-rpg tho.
Every unit can contribute but some are way better than other.
Also wish they had a "pillage mode" like banner saga (when there's only a few ennemies left your team gets a huge boost to pick them off)

So here's what I don't get, right?
I know Goose hates Mangs because of whatever happened in that bed (though from how the story was told to me, if she had so much as shouted everyone else would wake up and be able to help her and/or she could have left and slept somewhere else, so I doubt anything more than awkward happened.

And I know Chaz is an idiot who thought this would be a good chance to score points or whatever. I don't know what his peak subs were, but they're lower than a guy who was accused of sexual assault so obviously it didn't work.

But why did Mekkah do anything but shut up and wait for the matter to be over?

He has that romhack he made where he says Nigger in it so the modern culture would cancel his fake oreo ass fast as hell.

It's simple: virtually the entire FETuber community has been scheming to oust Mangs and scoop up his followers for themselves, and anyone that wasn't part of the conspiracy was expected to denounce the Egg or be taken down with him. Mekkah was part of that conspiracy, if I remember correctly, and even is he wasn't he would've had to say something hard to get the heat off him. More than that, Chaz himself had pressured a younger woman into sleeping with him, so this pit of vipers was probably also hoping to improve their own PR by creating a bogus #metoo scandal and then trying to cancel Mangs.

I think that this game might be worth picking up, since it's slated to release on PC in around 6 months.

Granted, it's FE clone that revolves around tanking hits and the demo could have used an LOT of elbow grease; but I think that it's worth pirating if you're tired of playing ROMhacks.
